< Jonah 3 >

1 Anivei channa in Jonah kom’a Pathen thu ahung lhung kit tan,
And the word of the Lord came to Jonas the second time, saying,
2 “Kipatdohin lang khopi lentah Nineveh a chen lang akhopi mite kom’a keiman nang kom’a ka seipeh sa thuhi gasam phongtan atin, ahi.”
Rise, go to Nineve, the great city, and preach in it according to the former preaching which I spoke to thee of.
3 Hiti chun Jonah akipat dohin Pakai thupeh dungjui in Nineveh langa achetan ahi. Nineveh hi khopi lentah ahin nithum lam kijot ahi.
And Jonas arose, and went to Nineve, as the Lord had spoken. Now Nineve was an exceeding great city, of about three days' journey.
4 Jonah chu akhopi sunga alut in nikhat lhingset ajot pan tan ahi. Hichea chun Jonah in, “Ni somli jou tengleh Neniveh khopi hi akup athalla kileh ding ahi!” tin asam phong tan ahi.
And Jonas began to enter into the city about a day's journey, and he proclaimed, and said, Yet three days, and Nineve shall be overthrown.
5 Hichun Nineveh mipiten Pathen thupeh chu atahsanun aneo pen’a pat alen pen geijin an angolun khaodip pon akisilun alungkham na’u chu aphong doh tauvin ahi.
And the men of Nineve believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloths, from the greatest of them to the least of them.
6 Nineveh lengpan Jonah thusei chu ajahdoh phat in alaltouna a konin ahung kum lhan alengpon loupi chu ahohlhan khaodip pon chu akisilin ahi.
And the word reached the king of Nineve, and he arose from off his throne, and took off his raiment from him, and put on sackcloth, and sat on ashes.
7 Hichun lengpa leh amilen amilal ten thupeh khat khopi sung pumpia aphongdoh un mihem hihen lang gancha ho hijong leh anneh twidon abollouhel ding ahi.
And proclamation was made, and it was commanded in Nineve by the king an by his great men, saying, Let not men, or cattle, or oxen, or sheep, taste [any thing], nor feed, nor drink water.
8 Mihem hihen gancha hijong leh lunggim lunghem pum’a, Pathen a lunggil taha taona iman diu pumhatna natoh leh ithilse bol nauva konna ikihei mang ding’u ahi, tin a phongdoh tan ahi.
So men and cattle were clothed with sackcloths, and cried earnestly to God; and they turned every one from their evil way, and from the iniquity that was in their hands, saying,
9 Ijeh innem itileh, Pathen jengin jong alung hin heijin tin eisuhgimna diuva kon’a eihin dohsah jing theiju ahi, atiuvin ahi.
Who knows if God will repent, and turn from his fierce anger, and [so] we shall not perish?
10 Hitobang thil abol’u chu Pathenin amudoh a itobang taha thilse bolna a konna kihei manga kingai tom’a hiuvem ti amudoh phatin alung aheitan achunguva lhunsah dinga aseisa thilse chu abol datan ahi.
And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil ways; and God repented of the evil which he had said he would do to them; and he did [it] not.
