< Job 21 >

1 Chuphat in Job in asei kit in:
Then responded Job, and said: —
2 Kathusei hohi ipi ham ti naichan hin ngai uvin, hichu kilhamonna neipeh thei sun u chu ahi.
Hear ye patiently my words, and let this be your consolation:
3 Neithoh piuvin chule ken thu sei inge, keiman thu kasei jou teng leh nanghon nei nuisat pan kit nauvin nate.
Suffer me, that, I, may speak, and, after I have spoken, thou canst mock!
4 Pathen koma kiphin kahin, mihem ho koma ahipoi, kanga sot joulou nau ajeh hoitah kaneije.
Did, I, unto man, make my complaint? Wherefore, then, should my spirit not be impatient?
5 Nei veuvin chule thipchet in um un, nakhut uvin nakam kisip cheh uvin,
Turn round to me, and be astonished, and lay hand on mouth!
6 Ken ipi kasei ding ham tia kagel teng, kaki thing tuntun in katahsa akihot hot e.
When I call to mind, then am I dismayed, and there seizeth my flesh a shuddering: —
7 Ipi dinga migiloute hi khang tou touva ateh gei uva khang uva chule thahat hiuvem?
Wherefore do, lawless men, live, advance in years, even wax mighty in power?
8 Chule amahohi achateu khantou leh a inchen uve dinga hing ahiuvin chule atuteu chunga akipah uve.
Their seed, is established in their sight, along with them, yea their offspring, before their eyes;
9 A in hou jong kichat tijat na a konin a ongdoh un chule Pathen in agimbol poi.
Their houses, are at peace, without dread, neither is, the rod of GOD, upon them;
10 Abongchal hou jong nou neilou vin aum pouvin, abongpi houvin nou aneijun athollha jong aumpoi.
His bull, covereth, and causeth not aversion, His cow safely calveth, and casteth not her young;
11 Kelngoite bangin achateu akichop le sah uvin, achapang hou chu akichom un chule alam lam uve.
They send forth—like a flock—their young ones, and, their children, skip about for joy;
12 Amahon semjang saigin leh selang dah toh lhonin la a asauvin, theile kimut gin in kipa golnop abol'uve.
They rejoice aloud as [with] timbrel and lyre, and make merry to the sound of the pipe;
13 Amahon ahin nikho hou nopsah nan amangun, chuti chun lungmong tah in lhankhuh ajon ji tauve. (Sheol h7585)
They complete, in prosperity, their days, and, in a moment to hades, they sink down. (Sheol h7585)
14 Amahon chemangin nathil imacha kadei pouvin, nalam lhah jong kadei pouve tin PAthen koma aseijuve.
Yet they said unto GOD, Depart from us, and, In the knowledge of thy ways, find we no pleasure.
15 Hatchungnung kitipa chu koi hija chule ipi dinga athu kangai diu ham?
What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? Or what shall we profit, that we should urge him?
16 Amahon ahausat najouseu hi amaho thahat a kilam doh danin agel un, ahinlah hitobang lunggel na a chu keiman imacha bol ding kanei lou ding ahi.
Lo! not in their own hand, is their welfare, The counsel of lawless men, is far from me!
17 Ahijeng vang'in migilou thaomei jong akimumit peh khapoi. Amaho hin hahsatna anei khah uvem? Pathen in lunghang tah a lung genthei nahi amaho ana hoppeh khah em?
How oft, the lamp of the lawless, goeth out, and their calamity, cometh upon them, Sorrows, apportioneth he in his anger;
18 Changpol banga amaho huijin amasang amutmang khah hitam? Huipi hat in changvai alhohmang banga alhoh mang khah hitam?
They become as straw before the wind, and as chaff, which the storm stealeth away.
19 Aphai Pathen in achateu beh agimbol ding ahi tin nasei juvin ahinlah chonset bol pen pen vang chu agim bol ding ahi tin kaseije. Chutile ama thutanna chu ahet thei diu ahi.
Shall, GOD, reserve, for his children, his sorrow? Let him recompense him so that he may know it;
20 Amanthah nau amahon amit tah uvin veu hen hatchungnung pa lunghanna thuhtah chu twidon in don uhen.
His own eyes, shall see his misfortune, and, the wrath of the Almighty, shall he drink.
21 Ijeh inem itile ama athi nung teng le ainkoteu iti dingu ham ti angaito pouve.
For what shall be his pleasure in his house after him, when, the number of his months, is cut in twain?
22 Ahinlah koipen in Pathen chu ahil thei ding ham? Mithahat chung thu jeng jong atan ji ahi.
Is it, to GOD, one can teach knowledge, seeing that, he, shall judge, them who are on high?
23 Mikhat chu hausa tah le lungmong tah hin boina beihel in athi jin ahi.
This, man dieth, in the very perfection of his prosperity, wholly tranquil and secure;
24 Mithahat misalhing hole tahsa damthei ho lim chu ahi.
His veins, are filled with nourishment, and, the marrow of his bones, is fresh;
25 Mikhat kit chu nopsahna hepha louhel in vaichatna khonteh in athi jin ahi.
Whereas, this other man, dieth, in bitterness of soul, and hath never tasted good fortune:
26 Ahinlah ani honna chu leivui lah a kivui cheh ahi lhonin, ani lhonna than hon aneh cheh lhon ding ahi.
Together, in the dust, they lie down, and, the worm, spreadeth a covering over them.
27 Ven nangin ipi nagel kahen nangin kei douna a nathilgon kahen ahi.
Lo! I know your plans, and the devices, wherewith ye would do me violence!
28 Achonset jeh uva ain u mang hella migilou leh mihausatah thu neihin seipeh ding ahi.
For ye say, Where is the house of the noble-minded? And where the dwelling-tent of the lawless?
29 Ahinlah akimvella um hohi dong le chun amahon adihtah chu naseipeh dingu ahi.
Have ye not asked the passers-by in the way? And, their signs, can ye not recognise?
30 Vangset phat laileh amaho chu aki hing hoijin chule manthah na a konna ajamdoh diu jong akiphal peh e.
That, to the day of calamity, is the wicked reserved, to the day of indignant visitation, are they led.
31 Koima chan amaho hi lhangphong tah in aseise ngam pouvin ahiloule anatoh athilbol hou jeh in jong lethuhna akipe pouve.
Who can declare—to his face—his way? And, what, he, hath done, who shall recompense to him?
32 Lhankhuh jonna amaho akiput tengu le alhan u chu mihon nidan kah khat bep bou anga peh jiuve.
Yet, he, to the graves, is borne, and, over the tomb, one keepeth watch;
33 Lhanmol a chun mithi kivuina kin akimang in atahsa choldo dinga akilupsah namun a chun mihon ajanau apeuve, chule leiset in kicholdo na nomtah in apei.
Pleasant to him are the mounds of the torrent-bed, —and, after him, doth every man march, as, before him, there were without number.
34 Nanghon keihi iti dan a thu hom keuva nei lhamon diu ham? Nahil chet najouseu jong jou ahi.
How then should ye comfort me with vanity, since, as for your replies, there lurketh, [in them] treachery?
