< Jeremiah 3 >

1 Vetan, pasal khat in ajinu ada-a, amanu chu achemanga michomtoh akichenteng, ajiluipa chu amanu heng’a galutji mong am? Chutitaleh, amanuchun gamsung pumpi chu asuhboh ding ahitai. Israel, nangjong nadongma tamtah angsunga noti banga naum nunga, ibol’a kahenga hung kile kit go nahim? tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
“If a man divorces his wife and she leaves him to marry another, can he ever return to her? Would not such a land be completely defiled? But you have played the harlot with many lovers— and you would return to Me?”
2 Khodah in lhangvum lai laiya doiphung hokhu ven, semthu pathen chom chomho chibai nabohlouna mun um am? Gamthip noiya noti bangin, nachangin natouvin, setpi dingin kholche vahle ho nangah in, nachonna ho jouse chun gamsung pumpi asuhboh ahitai.
“Lift up your eyes to the barren heights and see. Is there any place where you have not been violated? You sat beside the highways waiting for your lovers, like a nomad in the desert. You have defiled the land with your prostitution and wickedness.
3 Hiche jehtah chun, aphat phat’a hung julhaji go leh dai jong atangtai. Ajeh chu, jumleh ja helouhel in noti bangin, nangma nachontai.
Therefore the showers have been withheld, and no spring rains have fallen. Yet you have the brazen look of a prostitute; you refuse to be ashamed.
4 Ahivang in tuhin kajah’a, “Nangma kapa nahin, kaneova pat neihin khoukhah jing ahi,’’ nati.
Have you not just called to Me, ‘My Father, You are my friend from youth.
5 “Kachunga lunghang denpon natin chuleh atonsot in nei lunghan denpon nate,’’ nati. Ahin hitia naseivangin, nangman nanop nop in ase naboljingin, nachon namlhah nanga dehpoi,’’ ati.
Will He be angry forever? Will He be indignant to the end?’ This you have spoken, but you keep doing all the evil you can.”
6 Josiah lengpa nikholaiyin, Pakaiyin kajah’a thu ahinseitai, “Israel in kitahlouhel’a, thilse hichengpi aboldoh hi, namu hitalou ham? Numei aji umkhat michom toh ajon bangin, lhangsanglai jousea thingphungnoi tin’a, noti chon banga achon’a chuleh pathen semthu ho ahou jingkhu, nahetsoh hilou ham?’’
Now in the days of King Josiah, the LORD said to me, “Have you seen what faithless Israel has done? She has gone up on every high hill and under every green tree to prostitute herself there.
7 Hicheho pikhu gaboldoh jongleh, keima heng’a hung kilekit teidin kanangah’e. Ahivangin amanu ahungkilekit dehpon, chuleh achonthanghoina ho chu, asopinu michavai Judah chun akimudoh sohkit ahitai.
I thought that after she had done all these things, she would return to Me. But she did not return, and her unfaithful sister Judah saw it.
8 Israel chu michom toh ajon’a, kitahlou tah’a aumjeh’a, keiman amachu kada-a kadelmang ahichu, asopinu Judah in amusoh ahitai. Ahivangin, michavainu Judah in, hitiho chu kichat in aneidehpoi. Keiya konin amanu avahmangin, noti chon in achontai.
She saw that because faithless Israel had committed adultery, I gave her a certificate of divorce and sent her away. Yet that unfaithful sister Judah had no fear and prostituted herself as well.
9 Amanun noti chon’a achonna chu imalouvin agel’in, thingphung songphung ahouvin, chuleh mitoh ajongin gamsung asubohtai.
Indifferent to her own infidelity, Israel had defiled the land and committed adultery with stones and trees.
10 Ahinlah hichengse abolnungin jong, asopinu michavainu Judah chu kahenga lungtheng selin ahung kilekit dehpon, amanun akisih banga abol jouse hi, kilepna-a abolthu ahibouve, tin keima Pakaiyin kasei ahitai.
Yet in spite of all this, her unfaithful sister Judah did not return to Me with all her heart, but only in pretense,” declares the LORD.
11 Chuin Pakaiyin kajah’a, “Israel chu achonchatvai lheh vang'in, asopinu Judah kitahlouna sangin athemmona alhomjoi.”
And the LORD said to me, “Faithless Israel has shown herself more righteous than unfaithful Judah.
12 Hijeh chun, Israel henga chenlang, hiche thuhi gaseitan, “Vo Israel, kitahlou kamite nahiuve, tun kahenga hung kilekit tauvin. Ajeh chu keima khoto them leh hepi them kahin, atonsot in nachung’a lunghang jing ponge,’’ ati.
Go, proclaim this message toward the north: ‘Return, O faithless Israel,’ declares the LORD. ‘I will no longer look on you with anger, for I am merciful,’ declares the LORD. ‘I will not be angry forever.
13 Nathemmona kihet in, Pakai na Pathen douna-a nachonset naho, thingphungnoi tin’a doilim pathen ho nahouva, chuleh mitoh najon naho chu, phongdoh poupouvin. Nangman kathusei jouse jong nangai poi,’’ tin Pakayin kaphondoh ahitai.
Only acknowledge your guilt, that you have rebelled against the LORD your God. You have scattered your favors to foreign gods under every green tree and have not obeyed My voice,’”
14 Vo kitahlou vahmang chate, keima henga hung kilekit uvin, tin Pakaiyin aseiye. Ijeh inem itileh, keima nangho dinga na Pakaiyu kahi. Keiman nangho munchom chom’a pat’a kalahkhom ding, khopi khat’a mini kalah ding, Israel gamsung’a kahin lepuilut ding nahiuve, “ati.
“Return, O faithless children,” declares the LORD, “for I am your master, and I will take you—one from a city and two from a family—and bring you to Zion.
15 Chuleh keiman kadeitah, nangho kelngoi chinbanga nachingtup diu khat kapeh ding nahiuve. Aman nangho chunga hetna leh thil hetkhen themna toh tho’a, napuihoi diu ahi.
Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
16 Chuleh nangho napunbe cheh cheh uva, gamsung chu nadimset teng uleh, Pakai kitepna thingkong naputleuva nakipanau nikholai chu ngaitapouvin nate. Gel jong nageldoh tahlou diu chuleh hiche nikholai chu nalungvil kit tahlou diu, chuleh thingkong jong nasemphat kit tahlou diu ahi,’’ tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
“In those days, when you multiply and increase in the land,” declares the LORD, “they will no longer discuss the ark of the covenant of the LORD. It will never come to mind, and no one will remember it or miss it, nor will another one be made.
17 Hiche nikho chuleh, Jerusalem chu Pakai laltouna kiti ding, namtin jouse Jerusalem’a hung kikhom’uva Pakai chu ajabol diu ahi. Chuphatleh amaho louchal tah’a umtalou diu, chuleh alung’uva gitlouna agelbang uva chu chontalou diu ahi.
At that time Jerusalem will be called The Throne of the LORD, and all the nations will be gathered in Jerusalem to honor the name of the LORD. They will no longer follow the stubbornness of their evil hearts.
18 Chuche nikholeh, Judah leh Israel mite chu asohchannau sahlam gam’a pat’a, hung kilekhom kit uva, keiman apu apateu kapehsa gamsung’a chu hunglut kit’uva, aitih’a gamsung chu aloden diu ahitai.
In those days the house of Judah will walk with the house of Israel, and they will come together from the land of the north to the land that I gave to your fathers as an inheritance.
19 Keiman kanagel chu, “Nanghi kachateho lah’a kasimtha-a, keiman hiche gam leiset hoitah leh aphapen hi, nang kapehdoh nahi. Chuleh nangma keiya kon’a avel’a napotdoh kittah louding ahi.
Then I said, ‘How I long to make you My sons and give you a desirable land, the most beautiful inheritance of all the nations!’ I thought you would call Me ‘Father’ and never turn away from following Me.
20 Ahivangin vo Israel mite! Nangho keiya dingin kitahna beikei nahiuve. Tahbeh mongin, numei kitahloutah khat in ajipa adalhah’a chavaitah’a achon bang’a, nangma naum ahitai, “tin keima Pakaiyin kasei ahitai.
But as a woman may betray her husband, so you have betrayed Me, O house of Israel,”
21 Lhangvum chaivet vut’a kon, ogin nasatah akijai, hichu Israrel chate kana leh thumna ogin ahi. Ajeh chu amahon achenau lampi chu akaleh lam in akilhen un, chuleh Pakai a Pathen’u chu asumiltauvin ahi.
A voice is heard on the barren heights, the children of Israel weeping and begging for mercy, because they have perverted their ways and forgotten the LORD their God.
22 Pakaiyin aseiye,’’ Kitahna bei kamite, kahenga hung kilekit’uvin, chuleh keiman nakitahlounau lungthim chu kabol dam ding ahi,’’ ati. Amahon adonbut’un, “Nahenga kahungtauve! Ijeh inem itileh, nangma keiho Pakai leh ka Pathen’u nahibouve, atiuvin ahi.
“Return, O faithless children, and I will heal your faithlessness.” “Here we are. We come to You, for You are the LORD our God.
23 Thinglhang jousea semthu doilim ihouva, chuleh molsangvum tin’a doi houna maicham phung iboljouse hi, abon’a pannabei leh kilhep lhahna ahibouve. Tahbeh mongin, Israel dingin huhhingna chu Pakai I Pathen uva bou um ahi.
Surely deception comes from the hills, and commotion from the mountains. Surely the salvation of Israel is in the LORD our God.
24 Neolaiya pat’a ihinmu jing’u, pulehpa ten gimtah’a – akelngoiho ding, aganchaho ding, chuleh achapate leh achanute ding, abol jouseu jong chu pannabei leh kilheplhahna ahibouve.
From our youth, that shameful god has consumed what our fathers have worked for— their flocks and herds, their sons and daughters.
25 Eiho tun jum manin tol’ah kijam’u hitin, mihon noisetah’a ibolnau chu kikhuden sah’ute. Ajeh chu eiho leh iputeuvin, Pakai I Pathen’u dounan chonset inaboltauve. Ajeh chu eihon ineolaiyuva pat tuni geiyin I Pathen’u ogin ingaipouvin chuleh ijuitapouve.
Let us lie down in our shame; let our disgrace cover us. We have sinned against the LORD our God, both we and our fathers; from our youth even to this day we have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.”
