< Jeremiah 13 >

1 Pakaiyin kaheng’a hitin aseiye, “Chen lang taigah pon, tupat ponnem khat gachon lang, kigah in. Chule hichu twiya nasoplou ding ahi,” ati.
This is what the LORD said to me: “Go and buy yourself a linen loincloth and put it around your waist, but do not let it touch water.”
2 Hijeh chun, Pakaiyin athusah dungjuiyin, kenjong taigah pon kagachon kakigahtai.
So I bought a loincloth as the LORD had instructed me, and I put it around my waist.
3 Chujouvin Pakaiyin kahenga thu ahinseikit in,
Then the word of the LORD came to me a second time:
4 Nataigah pon chu kichoiyin lang, Ephrates vadung a chen. Chukom’a songpi khikah’a chun nathil chu gaselmang tan ati.
“Take the loincloth that you bought and are wearing, and go at once to Perath and hide it there in a crevice of the rocks.”
5 Hichun keiman, Pakai thupeh dungjuijin Ephrates vadunga kachen, kagasel mangtai.
So I went and hid it at Perath, as the LORD had commanded me.
6 Chujou, nikho tamtah jouvin, Pakaiyin kahenga thu ahinseikit in, “Ephrates vadunga chekit inlang na taigah pon kaselmang sah chu, gakilah kittan,” ati.
Many days later the LORD said to me, “Arise, go to Perath, and get the loincloth that I commanded you to hide there.”
7 Chuin keima Ephrates vadunga kachen, taigah pon kasel chu kagakhot doh kittai. Amavang, hiche taigah pon chu, amon in anase gam heltai. Taigah pon chu, imacha-a apanna ding aumtapoi.
So I went to Perath and dug up the loincloth, and I took it from the place where I had hidden it. But now it was ruined—of no use at all.
8 Chuin Pakaiya konin, kahenga thu ahunglhungin,
Then the word of the LORD came to me:
9 “Hiche hi Pakai kamsoh chu ahi, keiman Judah leh Jerusalem mite kithang-at nachu, hitobanga hi kasuhset pihding ahi.”
“This is what the LORD says: In the same way I will ruin the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.
10 Hiche migiloute hin, kathusei angaipouvin, louchal tah in achon un, ama ama cheh lung ngaichat abol'un, chule semthu pathen ahouvun ahi. Hijeh’a chu, amahohi taigah pon banga chu, phatchomna beihel ahitauve.
These evil people, who refuse to listen to My words, who follow the stubbornness of their own hearts, and who go after other gods to serve and worship them, they will be like this loincloth—of no use at all.
11 Ijeh inem itileh, taigah pon mihem taibuh a akiveiden banga, Judah leh Israel mite chu, keima chunga kiveiden jeng dinga kasem ahi, tin Pakaiyin aseiye. Hitia chu, amaho kamite hiuva, keidinga loupina leh eikivahchoina thei hidiu ahin; Hinlah amahon kathusei angaidehji pouvin ahi.
For just as a loincloth clings to a man’s waist, so I have made the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah cling to Me, declares the LORD, so that they might be My people for My renown and praise and glory. But they did not listen.
12 Hiche thuhi nangman amaho hetsah in, Pakai Israel Pathen in hitin aseiye, “Hai jousea lengpitwi nathaldim soh keidiu ahi,” ati. Chutengle amahon najah’a, “Hai jousea lengpitwi thaldim sohkei ding chu, keihon kahetlouvu ham? “atidiu ahi.
Therefore you are to tell them that this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Every wineskin shall be filled with wine.’ And when they reply, ‘Don’t we surely know that every wineskin should be filled with wine?’
13 Chutengle nangin amaho jah’a, Pakaiyin hitin aseiye, tin. “Ven hiche gamsung mite jouse: David laltouna-a tou lengho a pat thempuho, chule themgao ho, chule Jerusalem a chengho jouse, abonuva khamnathei gu-twi ka donkhamsah soh hel dingu ahi.
then you are to tell them that this is what the LORD says: ‘I am going to fill with drunkenness all who live in this land—the kings who sit on David’s throne, the priests, the prophets, and all the people of Jerusalem.
14 Keiman amaho, khat le khat katato ding, mipate le chapate jong katato ding ahi, tin Pakaiyin aseiye. Hitia chu, amaho suhmang louna dinga, achunguva hepina le lainatsah pihna, kaneilou hel ding ahi, ati.
I will smash them against one another, fathers and sons alike, declares the LORD. I will allow no mercy or pity or compassion to keep Me from destroying them.’”
15 Thu kasei ngaiyun lang, nanakhang’u hindo cheh’un. Kiletsah hoitho bol hih un. Ajeh chu Pakaiyin thu aseitai.
Listen and give heed. Do not be arrogant, for the LORD has spoken.
16 Phat ageisang masang in, Pakai na Pathen chu loupi sah un. Aman muthim ahin lhunsah masang, molsang laiya nakipal lhuh masang. Muthim lhangkhal gimneitah akiheh sah’a, khovah ngaicha geova naum masangun.
Give glory to the LORD your God before He brings darkness, before your feet stumble on the dusky mountains. You wait for light, but He turns it into deep gloom and thick darkness.
17 Nanghon hichea jong, Pakai thusei nangailou uleh, nakiletsah hoitho jal uva, keima kachanga kaka ding ahi. Keima mitlhi long chut chut a kaka ding; Ajeh chu Pakai mite abonchauva sohchanga kikaimang diu ahitai.
But if you do not listen, I will weep in secret because of your pride. My eyes will overflow with tears, because the LORD’s flock has been taken captive.
18 Lengpa leh lengnu kom’a seipih un. “Na laltouna’a kon in hung kumlha lhon in, tollhanga toulhon in. Ajeh chu, na loupina lallukhuh chu nalua kon’a kilamang ding ahitai,” ati.
Say to the king and to the queen mother: “Take a lowly seat, for your glorious crowns have fallen from your heads.”
19 Negev gam’a khopi jouse kot akikhah sohtan, koima ahongdoh ding aumpoi. Judah mite jouse sohchanga kikaimang ta, Chuleh gamsung mijouse sohchanga kikaimang ahitauve.
The cities of the Negev have been shut tight, and no one can open them. All Judah has been carried into exile, wholly taken captive.
20 khodah in lang vetem un, sahlam gam’a kon’a hung kitolsuh galmi ho khu. Nangma nakipesa, na kelngoi hon ho chu, hoiya um hitam?
Lift up your eyes and see those coming from the north. Where is the flock entrusted to you, the sheep that were your pride?
21 Nangin gollepai dia nakisemsa ho chu, Pakaiyin nangma chunga vaihom’a apansah tengle, nangin ipi nasei ding ham? Numei naoso nat banga, nang dinga natna nasatah hiding ahi.
What will you say when He sets over you close allies whom you yourself trained? Will not pangs of anguish grip you, as they do a woman in labor?
22 Nangman na lung sunga, ipi dia thil hicheng pihi kachunga hunglhung ham, tia nakidoh nomleh: Hichehi, na chonset alet behseh jeh ahi. Hijeh’a chu na ponsil jouse kibottel’a, hesoh genthei nasatah nathoh ahiye.
And if you ask yourself, “Why has this happened to me?” It is because of the magnitude of your iniquity that your skirts have been stripped off and your body has been exposed.
23 Ven, Ethiopia min avun avouso akhel thei am? Chule lutnun achunga ajem-pol ho akheldoh thei ham? Achuti theile, thilse bolgunset nanghon jong thilpha nabol theidiu ahi.
Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? Neither are you able to do good— you who are accustomed to doing evil.
24 “Keiman nangho nabonchauva, nelgam huipin changvai amut mang banga kalecheh ding nahiuve.
“I will scatter you like chaff driven by the desert wind.
25 Hichehi nangma chandol ahin, keiman nang dinga tedohsa-a kakoi ahi, tin Pakaiyin aseiye. Ajeh chu, nangman keima neisumiltan, jouva kisemdoh pathen ho chu na tahsan tai.
This is your lot, the portion I have measured to you,” declares the LORD, “because you have forgotten Me and trusted in falsehood.
26 Hijeh’a chu, keima mong mong in na ponsil kahodoh peh’a, najamo geiya kimuding ahiye.
So I will pull your skirts up over your face, that your shame may be seen.
27 Keiman, nathilbol thet umtah ho, mito najon thanhoina, kidah umtah nachonna ho, Chule loujao tinleh thinglhang’a doilim semthu nahouna, kamusoh keiyin ahi. Ohe ada nahi, Vo Jerusalem! Na kisuhthengna dinga phat itihchan lutding ham? “ati.
Your adulteries and lustful neighings, your shameless prostitution on the hills and in the fields— I have seen your detestable acts. Woe to you, O Jerusalem! How long will you remain unclean?”
