< Isaiah 1 >

1 Amoz chapa Isaiah-in Juda lengho Uziah, Jotham, Ahaz leh Hezekiah phat laiya Judah le Jerusalem chungchang gaova thil amuho:
The vision of Isaiah [Salvation of Yah] the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah [Praised] and Jerusalem [City of peace], in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah [Praised].
2 Vanho ngaiyun! leisetnin phaten ngaiyun! Pakaiyin asei chu hiche hi ahi: “Kahin vahkhang leh kahin seiletsah chaten kachungah nachonseuvin neidou tauve.
Sh'ma ·Hear obey·, heavens, and listen, earth; for Adonai has spoken: “I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
3 Bongchal jengin jong apupa akihetnin, chule Sanganin jong apu’n apehna kong akihetnin, ahinlah kamiten vang amaho kahin vahkhang dan ahephapouvin, Israelin apupa akihettapoi.
The ox knows his owner, and the donkey his master’s crib; but Israel [God prevails] does not know, my people don’t consider.”
4 Ohe themmona dimsette chonse nam mite, gitlouna thilbol chilhahho; themmona dimset mite, hiche mite hin a-Pakaiyu adalhatauvin, Israel Mithengpa chu donselouvin akoiyun ajamsan tauve.
Ah sinful nation, a people loaded with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken Adonai. They have despised the haKadosh Isra'el [the Holy One of God prevails]. They are estranged and backward.
5 Ipi dinga gimbolna ding nakikou bebeu hitam? Itih chan gei neidou nahlai diu ham? naluchang apumin anatan, nalungchang jong ana’n ahi.
Why should you be beaten more, that you revolt more and more? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
6 Nakengtoa pat nalujang chan adam lai mong mong aumtapon, akita-dupna jeng, apat lai jeng chule athi lonna maha jeng ahi’n, anaikolin, tom jong akitompon, thao jong akinupoi.
From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it: wounds, welts, and open sores. They haven’t been closed, neither bandaged, neither soothed with oil.
7 Nagamsungu jong ahomkeovin alumtan, nakhopiu jong akavamtai. Namitmu tah'un gamdang miten nagam’u alosohtan, thil jouse amitmuva amu jouseu asusetauve.
Your country is desolate. Your cities are burned with fire. Strangers devour your land in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
8 Jerusalem khopi hoitah chu lengpi leiya buh kisong tobang leh changmai leiya buh kisong bangin, akidalhan avengbit ding umlou khopi abangtai.
The daughter of Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking] is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a hut in a field of melons, like a besieged city.
9 Pakai van-khopi sepaihon eiho themkhat jeng jong eivenbitlouvu hileh Sodom le Gomorrah tobanga thehngima ium diu ahi.
Unless Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies] had left to us a very small remnant, we would have been as Sodom [Burning]; we would have been like Gomorrah [Rebellious people, Tyrants].
10 Sodom khoa vaihom lamkaihon Pakai thusei ngaiyun lang, Gomorrah miten Pathen dan thupeh ngaiyun.
Sh'ma ·Hear obey· Adonai’s word, you rulers of Sodom [Burning]! Listen to the Torah ·Teaching· of our God, you people of Gomorrah [Rebellious people, Tyrants]!
11 Pakaiyin aseiye: “Nakilhainau jouseu hi ka-ipi phatchomna umdinga nagelluham? Keiman kelngoichal pumgo thilto le gancha kivah thaotahtah jong kaneiye. Keiman bongchal tampi thisan leh kelngoi thisan chule kelcha thisan hijongleh kakipapipoi.
“What are the multitude of your sacrifices to me?,” says Adonai. “I have had enough of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed animals. I don’t delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of male goats.
12 Keima eihou dinga nahung tenguleh koiham nakithoinau puma ka-inpi chonthang dinga nakouvu?
When you come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to trample my courts?
13 Pannabei thiltoho chu hinpolut tahih-un, nagimnamtuiyu jong keima dinga thet-umtah ahi! Lhathah nikho, Sabbath nikho chuleh achombeha na-anngol nikho manhou chonset bulom leh adihlou ahi. Nakikhopkhomnau jong kadeitapoi.
Bring no more vain offerings. Incense is an abomination to me; new moons, Sabbaths, and convocations: I can’t bear with evil assemblies.
14 Nalhathah kut bolhou, kumlhun golnop nabolhou jong keidinga pohgih bep ahin, abonchan kapochimtan, kakidah ahitai!
My soul hates your New Moons and your appointed feasts. They are a burden to me. I am weary of bearing them.
15 Vanlam sanga nakhut-u natundohuva natao tengu jongleh kahungvetnuva nataonau kangailhahpehlou ding ahi. Ajeh chu khohelouho thisan nakhutnuvah adimsetne.
When you spread out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you. Yes, when you make many prayers, I will not sh'ma ·hear obey·. Your hands are full of blood.
16 Nangho kisilngimuvin lang chule kisuthengun! Nachonset nau chu kamitmun paimangun, nachonset nau lampi chu dalhauvin,
Wash yourselves, make yourself clean. Put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes. Cease to do evil.
17 Thilphabol dan kithemchuh-un, thudih chu holun. Bolgentheina thoh ho chu panpiuvin, naochagaho chu thu adih-in tanpeh-uvin lang, vengphauvin. Meithaiho chu thildih jeng seipeh-un.”
Learn to do well. Seek mishpat ·justice·. Relieve the oppressed. Judge the orphan. Plead for the widow.”
18 Pakaiyin hiti hin aseiye, “Hungun kihoutoh-u hite. Nachonset nau chu thisan bangin san jongleh buhbang banga kabansah ding, sandup jeju jongleh kelngoi mul jolsel tobanga kajolsah ding ahi.
“Come now, and let us reason together,” says Adonai: “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19 Kathupeh nanit-uleh nanghon nehlechah ninglhingset’na nanei diu ahi.
If you are willing and sh'ma ·hearing obedient·, you shall eat the good of the land;
20 Ahinlah kathupeh nanitlou-uva nakiheimangsanule namelmateu chemjama lousoh helding nahiuve, tia na-Pakaiyu keiman kaseipeh nahitauve!”
but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword; for the mouth of Adonai has spoken it.”
21 I-atileh Jerusalem khopi kitahtah chu notia pang jenga hitam? Thu adih-a kitanna khopia chun tuhin tolthana jengin aumtai.
How the faithful city has become a prostitute! She was full of mishpat ·justice·; righteousness lodged in her, but now murderers.
22 Nadangka thih chu twieh asohgamtan, nalengpi twi chihtah chu twi toh akichohhal gamtai.
Your silver has become dross, your wine mixed with water.
23 Namilen milalteu jong doumahmah bolin apangun, gucha michomho jol le golin apang tauve. Nehguh chahguh adelleleuvin, nulou palouho thule meithaiho thujong adih-in atanpeh nom tapouve.
Your princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves. Everyone 'ahav ·affectionately loves· bribes, and follows after rewards. They don’t judge the orphan, neither does the cause of the widow come to them.
24 Hijehchun Pakai, vantil galsatte Pakai Hatchungnung, Israel Pakai chun aseiye, “Keiman kamelmate chunga phuba kalah ding ahi.
Therefore the Lord, Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies], the Mighty One of Israel [God prevails], says: “Ah, I will get relief from my adversaries, and avenge myself on my enemies;
25 Nachunga kakhut kalha ding, nathih-eh thengsella kathehngima nasum kilhajol chengse kaloikhensohkei ding ahi.
and I will turn my hand on you, thoroughly purge away your dross, and will take away all your tin.
26 Chutengleh thutan vaihomthemho masang banga kahinpeh kit ding, Jerusalem khopi chu Thudih-a Kivaihomna Khopi chule Khopi Kitah tia kisei kit ding ahitai,” ati.
I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called ‘The city of righteousness, a faithful town.’
27 Zion chu thudih-a akitan teng kiledoh kit ding chule akisihho chu chonphatnaa kiledoh kit diu ahitai.
Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking] shall be redeemed with mishpat ·justice·, and her converts with righteousness.
28 Michonseho vang suhmanga umding ahiuve, ijeh-inem itileh amaho Pakai hengah akile nompouve.
But the destruction of transgressors and sinners shall be together, and those who forsake Adonai shall be consumed.
29 Namilim hounau leh aguh-a gangpithing noi laha nachonnau leh milim houna'a nakipehdohnau jeh'a jumleja nathoh diu ahi.
For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which you have desired, and you shall be confounded for the gardens that you have chosen.
30 Anagopsa gangpi phung nabah diu, chule twilutlouna honlei toh nabah diu ahi.
For you shall be as an oak whose leaf fades, and as a garden that has no water.
31 Nalahuva ahatpenpa jong chu changpol tobanga mangthah ding; athilbol dihlouhou chu meisipah mei chohkaiya pang ding, amaho le athildihlou bolhou chu meikong lah-a kachaiyintin, chuleh meikong chu aphelmit thei ding koima umponte.
The strong will be like tinder, and his work like a spark. They will both burn together, and no one will quench them.”
