1 Kum phabep jouvin Persia lengpa Artaxerxes vaihom laijin Ezra kiti khat ana um'in ahi. Ezra chu apa Seraiah ahin, Seraiah pa Hilkiah ahin,
Now after these things, in the reign of Arthasastha king of the Persians, came up Esdras the son of Saraias, the son of Azarias, the son of Chelcias,
2 Hilkiah chu Shallum chapa ahin, Shallum chu Zadok chapa ahin, Zadok chu Ahitub chapa ahin,
the son of Selum, the son of Sadduc, the son of Achitob,
3 Ahitup chu Amariah chapa ahin, Amariah chu Azariah chapa ahin, Azariah chu Meraioth chapa ahin,
the son of Samarias, the son of Esria, the son of Mareoth,
4 Meraioth chu Zerahiah chapa ahin, Zerahiah chu Uzzi chapa ahin, Uzzi chu Bukki chapa ahin,
the son of Zaraia, the son of Ozias, the son of Bokki,
5 Bukki chu Abishua chapa ahin, Abishua chu Phinehas chapa ahin, Phinehas chu Eleazar chapa ahin, chule Eleazar chu thempu chungnung Aaron chapa ahi.
the son of Abisue, the son of Phinees, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the first priest.
6 Hiche Ezra kitipa hi Babylon gamma konna hungtou ahin, amahi masang laiya Pakai Israel Pathen in Mose anapehsa daanthu chu kihilla themtah ahi, amahi Pakai a Pathen in akithopia akaile jeh'in ipi hijongleh aman angeh chan chu lengpan aphalpeh peh jenga ahi.
This Esdras went up out of Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the Lord God of Israel gave: and the king gave him [leave], for the hand of the Lord his God was upon him in all things which he sought.
7 Artaxerxes lengpa vaihom kum sagi lhin kum in, Israel chate phabep le thempuho phabep jong, Leviho jong, lathem holeh kelkot ngah a pang miho jong, chule houin lhacha a pangho jong Jerusalem khopia ahung kitoltou cheh kit uvin ahi.
And [some] of the children of Israel went up, and [some] of the priests, and of the Levites, and the singers, and the doorkeepers, and the Nathinim, to Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Arthasastha the king.
8 Ezra chu Persia lengpa Artarxerxes leng chan kal kum sagi lhin kum lha nga nan, Jerusalem khopi ahung lhungtan ahi.
And they came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, this [was] the seventh year of the king.
9 Aman kumthah ni masa niahi Babylon adalhah ahin, lha nga lhin nin Jerusalem ahung lhungtan ahi, ajeh chu Pathen mikhotona khut chun apuijin ahi.
For in the first [day] of the first month he began the going up from Babylon, and in the first day of the fifth month, they came to Jerusalem, for the good hand of his God was upon him.
10 Ezra hin ahinkho lhumkeiya Pakai daanthu chu asim in, amangchan chuleh Israel mipiho chun hiche daan thu hole chonchan thupeh ho jouse chu phatah a anit diu hi atup jing le ahil jing in ahi.
For Esdras had determined in his heart to seek the law, and to do and teach the ordinances and judgements in Israel.
11 Artaxerxes lengpan noiya lekha thot hi thempu lekhathem Pakaiyin Israelte anapeh daan thuho hoitah a hetna Ezra chu anapen ahi.
And this [is] the copy of the order which Arthasastha gave to Esdras the priest, the scribe of the book of the words of the commandments of the Lord, and of his ordinances to Israel.
12 Leng jouse lengpa Artaxerxes kitipa keiman Pathen daanthu hethem le lekha thempa Ezra henga kahin seijin kahin lemuve: -
Arthasastha, king of kings, to Esdras, the scribe of the law of the Lord God of heaven, Let the order and the answer be accomplished.
13 Kalenggam sung’a um Israel mipite leh thempuho chule Levite ho koi hijongleu chun Jerusalem langa nakile kit thei diuva kaphal peh nahi tauve.
A decree is made by me, that every one who is willing in my kingdom of the people of Israel, and of the priests and Levites, to go to Jerusalem, [be permitted] to go with you.
14 Keimaleh ka thumop the mi sagi hon nakhut uva nachoiju Pathen daanthu dungjuija nanit soh u hinam ti kholchil dia Judah gamle Jerusalem sung kasol nahiuve.
[One] has been sent from the king and the seven councillors, to visit Judea and Jerusalem, according to the law of their God that is in your hand.
15 Keihon nanghohi na Sana ule na dangka u jong nakipoh thei diuvin thaneina kapeuve hiche Jerusalem’a cheng Israel Pathen dia kiphal tah a kapedoh u ahiyenge.
And for the house of the Lord [there have been sent] silver and gold, which the king and the councillors have freely given to the God of Israel, who dwells in Jerusalem.
16 Chujongle nanghon Babylon gamma konna nadon doh’u sana le dangka chule Israel mipite leh thempuhon Jerusalem’a Pathen Houin na dinga atodoh hou puma nakipoh doh ahi.
And all the silver and gold, whatever you shall find in all the land of Babylon, with the free will offering of the people, and the priests that offer freely for the house of God which is in Jerusalem.
17 Hichea kidongdoh ho chengsehi, nanghon bongchal, kelngoichal, kelngoi chuleh hange mim chohna namanchah diu hichengse chu Jerusalem’a Pathen Houin maicham’a nato doh diu ahi.
And as for every one that arrives [there], speedily order him by this letter [to bring] calves, rams, lambs, and their meat-offerings, and their drink-offerings; and you shall offer them on the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.
18 Hiche sana dangka ho naman val houchu nangho leh na mite chengin, na Pathenun adeilam tah uva chu namancha theiju ahi.
And whatever it shall seem good to you and to your brethren to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, do as it is pleasing to your God.
19 Ahin khonho vang chu na Pathen henga Houin’a manchah dingin Jerusalem a Pathen kommah hin pelut soh keijun tia kanganse nahiuve.
And deliver the vessels that are given you for the service of the house of God, before God in Jerusalem.
20 Nanghon na Pathenu Houin na ding ahilouleh chutobang thildanga manchah dinga nangaichat u aumkhah tah jongleh leng inpi sumkholna a kon’in kilah jengun.
And as to the rest of the need of the house of your God, you shall give from the king's treasure-houses,
21 Keima Artaxerxes lengpan Euphrates vadung lhumlam gamkaija sum chingho komma jong hiche thupeh ho kathotnin ahi. Nanghon thempu leh mihilla pang Ezra hin nakom uva angaichat jatjat napeh jengdiu ahi.
and from me, whatever it shall seem [good] to you to give. I king Arthasastha have made a decree for all the treasuries that are in the [country] beyond the river, that whatever Esdras the priest and scribe of the God of heaven may ask you, it shall be done speedily,
22 Nanghon amachu dangka pound sang sagi le ja nga changei, suhlou chang atena dim ja nga chuleh lengpi twi gallon ja ngai le som nga chujongleh olive thao gallon ja nga le som nga napehdiu chuleh chi adei jatjat jong napeh jengdiu ahi.
to [the amount of] a hundred talents of silver, and a hundred measures of wheat, and a hundred baths of wine, and a hundred baths of oil, and salt without reckoning.
23 Van Pathen in a Houin dinga angaichat ibola eihon lengpale achate chunga Pathen lunghan na ikoulhah diuham?
Let whatever is in the decree of the God of heaven, be done: take heed lest any one make an attack on the house of the God of heaven, lest at any time there shall be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons.
24 Hiche to kimat a keiman kathupeh nom kit khat chu ahile, thempu, Levi, Lasa apang ho, Kelkot ngah ho, Houinna lhacha a pang ho chuleh Pathen Houin a natong dangho chu kai jatchom chomho apeh loudiu ahi.
Also this has been declared to you, with respect to all the priests, and Levites, the singers, porters, Nathinim and ministers of the house of God, let no tribute be [paid] to you; you shall not have power to oppress them.
25 Chuleh Ezra nangmahi na Pathen in napeh nachihna chu naman chah a Euphrates vadung lhumlam gamkai sunga um mipiho chunga vaihom ding Pathen daanthu hethemho thutan vaihom ding a napansah ding ahi.
And you, Esdras, as the wisdom of God [is] in your hand, appoint scribes and judges, that they may judge for all the people beyond the river, all that know the law of the Lord your God; and you shall make it known to him that knows not.
26 Koi hileh Pathen daanthu nitlou leh lengpa daanthu juilou hochu gangtah a athu kitanna, kithat ding, ahilouleh kinodoh ding, ahilou jongleh anei agou kilahpeh ding ahilouleh songkul’a kikhum ding ahi,” ati.
And whoever shall not do the law of God, and the law of the king readily, judgement shall be taken upon him, whether for death or for chastisement, or for a fine of his property, or casting into prison.
27 Hichun Ezra in jong, “Ipu ipateo Pathen chu thangvah in umhen ajeh chu aman lengpa amangchan Jerusalem’a Pakai houin asemhoi tan ahi!
Blessed [be] the Lord God of our fathers, who has put it thus into the heart of the king, to glorify the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem;
28 Amachu thangvah in umhen ajeh chu alungsetna tanglou vin eimusah in, lengpa leh amilen amilal ho masanga eidom sangin hijeh chun keima tilkhouvin kaumin chuleh ka Pathen leh ka Pakai khotona khutchu kachunga aum jingin ahi. Hiti chun keiman Israel mite lamkai hochu kakou khommin Jerusalem lang’ah kakile taovin ahi.” ati.
and has given me favour in the eyes of the king, and of his councillors, and all the rulers of the king, the exalted ones. And I was strengthened according to the good hand of God upon me, and I gathered chief men of Israel to go up with me.
