1 Ijakai dingin aphat aumcheh in, vannoija hin ijakai achat loh thei ding in phat aum cheh’e.
To all things there is a time, and a season for every matter under heaven.
2 Penna ding phat aum in chule thiphat aum’e. Aphu phat aum in chule a‘at phat aum’e.
A time of birth, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what has been planted;
3 Atha’phat aum in chule asuhdam phat aum’e. Aphet lhah phat aum in chule asahdoh phat aum’e.
a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to pull down, and a time to build up;
4 Ka phat aumin chule nui phat aume. Lunghem phat aum in chule lam phat aume.
a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to lament, and a time to dance;
5 Song sethang phat aum in chule song khopkhom phat aum’e. Ki-angkol phat aum in chule kihei mang phat aum’e.
a time to throw stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to abstain from embracing;
6 Thil holphat aum in chule thilhol ngah phat aum’e. Akholkhom phat aumin chule athe cheh phat aum’e.
a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 Abo-eh phat aumnin chule akhui bit phat aum’e. Thipbeh’a umphat aumin chule thusei phat aume.
a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to be silent, and a time to speak;
8 Kingailut phat aumin chule kivetda phat aume. Kinah phat aum in chule kicham phat aum’e.
a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
9 Ana tohhat man uva miho hin ipi akimu mong mong uvem?
What advantage [has] he that works in those things wherein he labours?
10 Pathen’in i-bonchau chunga pohgih eikoipeh cheh’u kamu doh tai.
I have seen all the trouble, which God has given to the sons of men to be troubled with.
11 Ahijeng vang'in, Pathen’in ijakai amachang cheh dingin hoisel in asem in ahi. Aman mihemte lungsunga tonsot akhum lut peh in, hinlah chuti ahijeng vang'in, mihem in Pathen tohgon apatna pat achaina geijin amu phapoi.
All the things which he has made are beautiful in his time: he has also set the whole world in their heart, that man might not find out the work which God has wrought from the beginning even to the end.
12 Hijeh’a hi keiman, mihem chu akipa’a chule ijochan geijuva thanopna inei dingu sanga phajo dang aumpoi, tia ka gel lhah ahi tai.
I know that there is no good in them, except [for a man] to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
13 Chule miho hin aneh’uva chule adon’uva chule atohgim gahou, athanoppi diu hi Pathen’in manbeiya athil peh-u chu ahi.
Also [in the case of] every man who shall eat and drink, and see good in all his labour, [this] is a gift of God.
14 Chule ipi hijongleh Pathen in athilbol chan chu achaina ahi jenge. Imacha gah koibe ding ahilouleh gah lahdoh ding aum poi. Pathen in alung gon chu mihem ten Ama agin ding’u hi ahi.
I know that whatever things God has done, they shall be for ever: it is impossible to add to it, and it is impossible to take away from it: and God has done [it], that [men] may fear before him.
15 Tua hung sohdoh hohi tumasanga ana sohdohsa ahitai, chule khonunga hung soh ding ho chu tuma’a ana sohdoh sa ahitai, ajeh chu Pathen in hiho chu avel vella ahin um dohsah kitji ahije.
That which has been is now; and whatever things [are appointed] to be have already been; and God will seek out that which is past.
16 Nisa noija keiman ka mudoh kit chu, thutanna dan aphalou um ka hedoh’e. Tahbeh in, Dan Thutanna mun chu thudih aum poi.
And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgement, there was the ungodly one; and the place of righteousness, there was the godly one.
17 Keimatah in ka lungthima, “Aphatcha Pathen in apha hileh ase hileh amichang cheh chu anatoh hou jouse jal'a achungthu’u atan ding ahi,” kati.
And I said in my heart, God will judge the righteous and the ungodly: for there is a time there for every action and for every work.
18 Keiman mihemte dinmun thua kagel lin-Pathen’in mihemte henga amaho jong gancha hole gamsaho tobangbep ahiuve, ti aphochen in ahi.
I said in my heart, concerning the speech of the sons of man, God will judge them, and that to show that they are breasts.
19 Ajeh chu gamsaho le mihemte chan kibang ahinau aume-haitheina anei gel uvin chule thithei gel ahiuve. Hitia hi mihemin gamsa ho sanga phatchom john a tahbeh anei deh pouve. Ajeh bei iti hi’a hitam!
Also to them is the event of the sons of man, and the event of the brute; one event befalls them: as is the death of the one, so also the death of the other; and there is one breath to all: and what has the man more than the brute? nothing; for all is vanity.
20 Ania munkhatna chekhoma ahi-vutna kona hung kondoh’uva ahin, aniuva vut kisohkit diu ahi.
All [go] to one place; all were formed of the dust, and all will return to dust.
21 Ajeh chu koiham mihem lhagao akaltouvin chule gamsaho lhagao leisetna akumsuh’e ti, koi jin aphotchet thei jem?
And who has seen the spirit of the sons of man, whether it goes upward? and the spirit of the beast, whether it goes downward to the earth?
22 Hitia hi keiman mihem dinga anatoh chunga akipa diu sanga phajo kamupoi. Eiho hi koiman ithi jou tenguleh nopsahna dinga thina’a konna eihin lepui ding’u ahi tapoi.
And I saw that there was no good, but that wherein a man shall rejoice in his works, for it is his portion, for who shall bring him to see any thing of that which shall be after him?
