And Saul spoke to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, to kill David.
2 Jonathn in David jah’a, “Kapan, jing jingkah le tha ding nagoi, chinghtheiyin, loulai sunga kisel nading mun khat kihol’in,” tin apa thilgon ho jouse chu aseipeh tan ahi.
And Jonathan, Saul's son, loved David much: and Jonathan told David, saying, Saul seeks to kill you: take heed to yourself therefore to-morrow morning, and hide yourself, and dwell in secret.
3 “Chutengle, keiman kappa chu munchom khatna puidong ing kating, nachungchang thu kihoulimpi ing katin, kamudoh chengse chu nang kaseipeh ding nahi,” tin aseipeh kit tan ahi.
And I will go forth, and stand near my father in the field where you shall be, and I will speak concerning you to my father; and I will see what his answer may be, and I will tell you.
4 Ajing jingkah in, Jonathan in David chungchang thu apa komah aphatna le athilpha boljeng aseipeh in ahi. Chule Jonathan in apa koma chun, “Lengpa chu asoh David douna-a chonse lou ding ahi chule David in nangma dounan thil imacha abolpoi, aman ajochanin aphat jousen nakithopin ahi,” ati.
And Jonathan spoke favourably concerning David to Saul his father, and said to him, Let not the king sin against your servant David, for he has not sinned against you, and his deeds [are] very good.
5 “Pathen thahatna jal'a Philistine mihatpa anatha-a Israelte dinga gal lentah eina jopeh-u phatlai chu nasuhmil hitam? Hichea thilsoh chungchanga chu nangma nana kipa dehset hilou ham? Achutia ahileh imacha bolselou, mona neilou David chu ipi bolla thading nagot ham? Ajeh imacha aumpoi!” ati.
And he put his life in his hand, and struck the Philistine, and the Lord wrought a great deliverance; and all Israel saw, and rejoined: why then do you sin against innocent blood, to kill David without a cause?
6 Hijeh chun Saul in Jonathan thusei chu phatah’in angaijin chuin akihahsel’in, “Hingjing Pakai min pan’a kasei ahi, David chu kithat louding ahi,” ati
And Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan; and Saul swore, saying, [As] the Lord lives, he shall not die.
7 Hiche jouchun Jonathan in David akouvin, thil ijakai asepeh tan ahi. Chule aman David chu Saul komah apuijin, amasa bangin David in leng inpi’ah na atong kit in ahi.
And Jonathan called David, and told him all these words; and Jonathan brought David in to Saul, and he was before him as in former times.
8 Chuin Philistine tetoh gal kisatna aumkit in, David in asepaite akipuijin Philistine tetoh akisat in, amaho nasatah in athat-in ahile, amaho ajam tauve.
And there was again war against Saul; and David did valiantly, and fought against the Philistines, and struck them with a very great slaughter, and they fled from before him.
9 Ahinlah nikhat hi Saul in’ah atouvin tengcha akhut ah akichoijin ahile, Pathen a kona hungkon lhagao dihlou chun hetman louvin achungah ahung chu kit’in ahile, David in angai bangin semjang asailaitah in,
And an evil spirit from God was upon Saul, and he was resting in his house, and a spear [was] in his hand, and David was playing on the harp with his hands.
10 Saul in David chu atengcha choiya chun akhoa, bangtoh khobeh ding agotna ahile, David ana ki-otdoh in, atengcha chun bang ah akibut lut jeng in, hiche jan chun David akiseldoh tan ahi.
And Saul sought to strike David with the spear; and David withdrew [suddenly] from the presence of Saul; and he drove the spear into the wall; and David retreated and escaped.
11 Chuin Saul in David ain-langa avelhi ding in asepaite asollin ahi. Asepaite jah’ah, ajing jingkah teng aina kona ahung potdoh tengle natha dingu ahi, tin thu apen ahi. Ahinlah ainneipi Michal in David jah’a, “Tujana nakiseldoh louva ahileh, jing jingkah leh nathi ding ahitai,” ati.
And it came to pass in that night, that Saul sent messengers to the house of David to watch him, in order to kill him in the morning; and Melchol David's wife told him, saying, Unless you save your life this night, to-morrow you shall be slain.
12 Chuin ainneipi Michal in kotcha neo langa kon in akhai lhan, ajamdoh in, ahoi dohtai.
So Melchol lets David down by the window, and he departed, and fled, and escaped.
13 Hichun amanun milim khat alan, alupna ah ponsa khat asil peh’in, asam ding in kelcha mul asem peh in ahi.
And Melchol took images, and laid them on the bed, and she put the liver of a goat by his head, and covered them with clothes.
14 Chuin sottol le ho ahung uva David matding agot uleh, ainneipin adam hih in athou joupoi tin alep in ahi.
And Saul sent messengers to take David; and they say that he is sick.
15 Ahinlah Saul in asottol leho jah’a thu apen, “Alupna a konin hinkaidoh un, kathading ahi,” atin ahi.
And he sends to David, saying, Bring him to me on the bed, that I may kill him.
16 Ahin alupna-a kona kaidoh ding agot uva aponsil chu agah hodoh uva ahileh, milim kisemthu, alua kelchamul chu amudoh tauve.
And the messengers come, and, behold, the images [were] on the bed, and the goat's liver at his head.
17 Hijeh chun Saul in Michal jah’a, “Ipibolla hitia hi nei joulhep’a, kagalmi keija kona najamdoh sah ham?” atin ahile, Michal in jong, “Aman neikithopi louva ahileh katha ding nahi eitijeh’a kabol ahi,” tin ana donbut in ahi.
And Saul said to Melchol, Why have you thus deceived me, and suffered my enemy to depart, and he has escaped? and Melchol said to Saul, He said, let me go, and if not, I will kill you.
18 David ajamdoh in Ramah khopi’ah achen Samuel to akimuto lhonin, chule Saul in achunga itobang tah’a na atoh ham ti aseipeh tan ahi. Samuel in David akilhonpin Ramah gamsunga Naioth mun’ah acheng tan ahi.
So David fled, and escaped, and comes to Samuel to Armathaim, and tells him all that Saul had done to him: and Samuel and David went, and lived in Navath in Rama.
19 David Ramah gamsunga Naioth muna aume ti thulhut Saul’in ana jatan ahi.
And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David [is] in Navath in Rama.
20 Hichun aman David manding in sottol-le ho asoltan ahi. Ahinlah amaho agalhun phat’un, Samuel lamkaina a themgao phabep in gaothu asei pet’u atohkha uvin, Saul sottol leho chu Pathen lhagao chung uvah ahung chun, amahon jong gaothu aseipan tauvin ahi.
And Saul sent messengers to take David, and they saw the assembly of the prophets, and Samuel stood [as] appointed over them; and the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they prophesy.
21 Chuin Saul in hichu ajahdoh kit phat’in, sottol dangho asolkit in ahileh, amahon jong gaothu aseiden kit tauvin ahi. Athumvei chan nan jong angai ngai ahiuve.
And it was told Saul, and he sent other messengers, and they also prophesied: and Saul sent again a third set of messengers, and they also prophesied.
22 Chuphat’in, Saul amatah Ramah kho jonin achetai, Secu’a um twikul lentah phung ahin phah in, “Samuel le David hoiya um lhon em?” tin adongin ahile, “Ramah gam'a Naioth mun ah aum lhone,” tin mi koiham khat in ahin donbut in ahi.
And Saul was very angry, and went himself also to Armathaim, and he comes as far as the well of the threshing floor that is in Sephi; and he asked and said, Where [are] Samuel and David? And they said, Behold, in Navath in Rama.
23 Ahin Ramah gam'a Naioth ajot chun, lampi’ah Pathen lhagao Saul chungah ahung chun, Naioth alhun kahsen gaothu aseiyin ahi.
And he went thence to Navath in Rama: and there came the Spirit of God upon him also, and he went on prophesying till he came to Navath in Rama.
24 Saul in apon abotkeh in, akeochang in tollhang ah alumin, Samuel angsung’ah sun nilhum jan khovah in gaothu asei in ahi. Chuin mihon aveuvin, adatmouvin, “Iti dana, Saul jeng jong themgao lah’a jao hitam?” atiuvin ahi.
And he took off his clothes, and prophesied before them; and lay down naked all that day and all that night: therefore they said, [Is] Saul also amongst the prophets?
