Now when King Dauid was olde, and striken in yeeres, they couered him with clothes, but no heate came vnto him.

Wherefore his seruants saide vnto him, Let there be sought for my lord ye King a yong virgin, and let her stand before the king, and cherish him: and let her lie in thy bosome, that my lord the King may get heate.

And the maid was exceeding faire, and cherished the king, and ministred to him, but the King knew her not.

Then Adoniiah the sonne of Haggith exalted himselfe, saying, I will be king. And he gate him charets and horsemen, and fiftie men to run before him.

And his father would not displease him from his childehood, to say, Why hast thou done so? And hee was a very goodly man, and his mother bare him next after Absalom.

But Zadok the Priest, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and Nathan the Prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the men of might, which were with Dauid, were not with Adoniiah.

Then Adoniiah sacrificed sheepe and oxen, and fat cattel by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by En-rogel, and called all his brethren the kings sonnes, and al the men of Iudah ye Kings seruants,
10 Ahinlah aman Nathan themgao, Beniah chule lengpa veng tup a pang ho chujongleh a sopipa Solomon ana koupon ahi.
But Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah, and the mightie men, and Salomon his brother hee called not.
11 Hichun Nathan chu Solomon nu Bethsheba komma achen, hiti hin aga dong tan ahi, “Haggith chapa Adonijah chu ama leh ama leng in aki sem tan ahi ti na jahdoh lou ham? Chuleh lengpan jong ana jahdoh khah lou ham?”
Wherefore Nathan spake vnto Bath-sheba the mother of Salomon, saying, Hast thou not heard, that Adoniiah ye sonne of Haggith doeth reigne, and Dauid our lord knoweth it not?
12 “Nang leh na chapa Solomon hinkho na hoidoh nom le keiman kaseipeh bang vang hin jui in,” atipeh tan ahi.
Now therefore come, and I will now giue thee counsell, howe to saue thine owne life, and the life of thy sonne Salomon.
13 Tun gang tah in Lengpa komma chen lang hitin ga seitan “Kapu Lengpa, nang in na chapa Solomon hi kei banna leng hung chang ding ahi neina tipeh lou ham? tua hi i-atileh Adonijah khu leng chang hitam?” ati.
Go, and get thee in vnto King Dauid, and say vnto him, Didest not thou, my lorde, O King, sweare vnto thine handmaide, saying, Assuredly Salomon thy sonne shall reigne after me, and he shall sit vpon my throne? why is then Adoniiah King?
14 Chule nang in hi tia chu akomma thu na na seipeh tah leh keima hung lut in ting na thusei chu ka hung suh det ding ahi.
Behold, while thou yet talkest there with the King, I also will come in after thee, and confirme thy wordes.
15 Hiti chun Bethsheba chu Lengpa lupna dan sunga chun alut in Lengpa chu ateh behseh tan Abishag chun ajen jing in ahi.
So Bath-sheba went in vnto the King into the chamber, and the King was verie olde, and Abishag the Shunammite ministred vnto ye King.
16 Bethsheba chu lengpa ang’a chun abohkhup in ahileh aman, “Ipi nadei ham?” ahin tin ahi.
And Bath-sheba bowed and made obeisance vnto the King. And the King saide, What is thy matter?
17 Amanun adonbut in, “Kapu Lengpa nang in Pakai, Pathen masang’a na kihahsel in ka kom ah hitin nana seijin ahi: na chapa Solomon hi kei banna ka laltouna munna hi leng hung chang tei ding ahi tin nana seijin ahi.
And shee answered him, My lorde, thou swarest by the Lord thy God vnto thine handmaide, saying, Assuredly Salomon thy sonne shall reigne after me, and he shall sit vpon my throne.
18 Ahinlah tun Adonijah hi ama leh ama Lengin akisem tan ahinlah nangin na hepha pon ahi.
And beholde, nowe is Adoniiah king, and now, my lord, O King, thou knowest it not.
19 Aman bongchal ho, bongnou thaotah tah ho leh kelngoi ho athat in pumgo thilto aboltan, Lengpa chate dangse akouvin kei chapa Solomon akou pon chu leh aman themgao Abiathar leh sepai lamkai Joab jong akouvin ahi.
And he hath offred many oxen, and fatte cattel, and sheepe, and hath called all the sonnes of the King, and Abiathar the Priest, and Ioab the captaine of the hoste: but Salomon thy seruant hath he not bidden.
20 Tuhin kapu Lengpa Israel mipite jousen nang banna leng chang ding hi koi pen na hisah ding ham? tia avet cheh u ahi,” ati.
And thou, my lorde, O King, knowest that the eyes of all Israel are on thee, that thou shouldest tell them, who shoulde sit on the throne of my lord the King after him.
21 “Tua hi nang in pan nalah vahlou leh nathi nung leh ka chapa Solomon toh kei ni hi themmo nanei khat bang a eikibol lhon di ahitai,” ati.
For els when my lord the King shall sleepe with his fathers, I and my sonne Salomon shalbe reputed vile.
22 Amanun hitia thu ana sei sung in Nathan themgao chu akom aga lhung in ahi.
And lo, while she yet talked with the King, Nathan also the Prophet came in.
23 Nathan themgao ahung in na kimupi nom’e tichu Lengpa a seipeh tauvin, hichun Nathan themgao alut in Lengpa kom achun akhup boh in achun amai tol’a a sulut jeng tan ahi.
And they tolde the King, saying, Beholde, Nathan the Prophet. And when he was come in to the King, hee made obeisance before the King vpon his face to the ground.
24 Nathan in “Kapu Lengpa nangin, Adonijah hi nang banna leng changding’a nana phondoh khah em?
And Nathan saide, My lorde, O King, hast thou said, Adoniiah shall reigne after mee, and he shall sit vpon my throne?
25 Tu nin aman bongchal ho, bongnou thao tahtah ho leh kelngoi ho pumgo thilto abol in hiche’a chun Lengpa chate, sepai lamkai ho, Abiathar themgao pa akouvin ama hon aneuvin adon un leng Adoniah hingsot hen tin a sam un ahi.
For hee is gone downe this day, and hath slaine many oxen, and fat cattel, and sheepe, and hath called al the Kings sonnes, and the captaines of the hoste, and Abiathar the Priest: and behold, they eate and drinke before him, and say, God saue King Adoniiah.
26 Aman kei leh thempupa Zadok leh Beniah chu leh na soh Solomon jong akou pon ahi.
But me thy seruant, and Zadok the Priest, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and thy seruant Salomon hath he not called.
27 Kapu Lengpa nang in hiche hi nang ding’a panmun neiho hetsah louva nang banna leng chang ding hi nalhen khat tou hitam?” ati.
Is this thing done by my lord the King, and thou hast not shewed it vnto thy seruant, who should sitte on the throne of my lorde the King after him?
28 David lengpan ahin donbut in ajah a, “Bethsheba chu ga kouvin,” ati. Hichun amanu ahung in Lengpa masanga ading tan ahi.
Then King Dauid answered, and saide, Call me Bath-sheba. And shee came into ye Kings presence, and stoode before the King.
29 Hichun Lengpan aki hahselna chu avel sei kit in, “Keiman hahsatna kato channa eina huhdoh hing jing Pakai minna kasei ahi.
And the King sware, saying, As the Lord liueth, who hath redeemed my soule out of all aduersitie,
30 Na chapa Solomon chun keima bantah a lengmun chu Pakai Israel Pathen minna ka kitepna dungjuija tuni tah a hi alo ding ahi tai,” ati.
That as I sware vnto thee by the Lord God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Salomon thy sonne shall reigne after me, and hee shall sit vpon my throne in my place, so will I certainely doe this day.
31 Hichun Bethsheba chu akun in tol ah amai a sulut in Lengpa chu salam abol in asei tai, “Kapu Lengpa David hing sot hen!” ati.
Then Bath-sheba bowed her face to the earth, and did reuerence vnto the King, and said, God saue my lord King Dauid for euer.
32 Hichun David lengpan thu apen “Zadok thempupa, themgao Nathan le Jehoiada chapa Bennah ga kou un” ati. Ama ho lengpa angsung’a ahung lhunphat un,
And King Dauid saide, Call mee Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada. And they came before the King.
33 Lengpan amaho kom ah asei tan ahi, “Solomon leh kei ding’a pan mun nikho nei ho chengse chu Gihon tui putna mun’a chun pui unlang chu leh Solomon chu keima sakol pol chung’a chun tousah un.
Then the King said vnto them, Take with you the seruants of your lorde, and cause Salomon my sonne to ride vpon mine owne mule, and carie him downe to Gihon.
34 Hichea chun Thempupa Zadok le Themgao pa Nathan in Israel pumpi chung a Leng chang dingin Solomon chu thao ganu lhon hen lang saki pengkul chu mut un chuleh lengpa Solomon hingsot hen tin sam un.
And let Zadok the Priest and Nathan the Prophet anoint him there King ouer Israel, and blowe ye the trumpet, and say, God saue king Salomon.
35 Chujou teng hilanga hinle puikit un ka laltouna a tousah un. Keima Lengmun lo ding leh Israel leh Judahh chung’a vaihom dinga keiman ka pansah ahi tai,” ati.
Then come vp after him, that hee may come and sit vpon my throne: and hee shall bee King in my steade: for I haue appointed him to be prince ouer Israel and ouer Iudah.
36 Jehoiadah chapa Benaiah chun adonbut in “Hihen, Kapu Lengpa Pakai Pathen in jong hichu guilhun sah hen” ati.
Then Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada answered the King, and said, So be it, and the Lord God of my lord the King ratifie it.
37 “Kapu Lengpa nangma nana umpi jing bang in Pakaiyin Solomon jong umpi hen chuleh Solomon vaihopna gamchu nanga sang in letsah jo hen!” atiuvin ahi
As the Lord hath bene with my lorde the King, so be he with Salomon, and exalt his throne aboue the throne of my lorde king Dauid.
38 Hiti chun Thempupa Zadok, Themgao pa Nathan leh Jehoiada chapa Benaiah chuleh Lengpa vesui sepai hon Gihon munlang’a chun Solomon chu apui jun apa sakolpol chunga chun a tousah un ahi.
So Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites went downe and caused Salomon to ride vpon king Dauids mule, and brought him to Gihon.
39 Hiche mun achun thempupa Zadok chun indan thenga kon in Olive thao atheija um chu alan Solomon chu anu peh in ahi. Hijou chun saki sumkon chu amut un “Leng Solomon hingsot hen,” tin asam un ahi.
And Zadok the Priest tooke an horne of oyle out of the Tabernacle, and anointed Salomon: and they blewe the trumpet, and all the people said, God saue king Salomon.
40 Hiche jou chun mipihon Solomon chu Jerusalem geijin ajui jin kuli amut’un kipahtah injong a sam un, akipanao o-gin kithong tah a a sap u chun leiset jeng jong a kithin sah leu jengin ahi.
And all the people came vp after him, and the people piped with pipes, and reioyced with great ioye, so that the earth rang with the sound of them.
41 Adonijah leh aloi agolho chun golvah abol chai jouvin Solomon lengchan husa thong jejun ajauvin saki pengkul kimut gin chu Joab in ajah doh phat in, “Khopi sung khubanga choh jeju khu ipi kibolna hitan tem?” atin ahi.
And Adoniiah and all the ghestes that were with him, heard it: (and they had made an ende of eating) and when Ioab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, What meaneth this noise and vprore in the citie?
42 Hiche thu chu asei pet tah'un, Abiather Thempupa chapa Jonathan chu ahung lhung tan ahileh Adonijah in “Hunglutnin ajeh chu nanghi mipha na hin na thu poh jong thuphahi ngei inte,” atin ahi.
And as he yet spake, beholde, Ionathan the sonne of Abiathar the Priest came: and Adoniiah said, Come in: for thou art a worthie man, and bringest good tidings.
43 Jonathan in a donbut in ahinai saipoi David Lengpan tutah chun Solomon chu leng ahitai tin aphong doh in ahi” ati.
And Ionathan answered, and said to Adoniiah, Verely our lord King Dauid hath made Salomon King.
44 Lengpan ama chu Gihon geijin asol suh in, Zadok Thempu pa le Nathan Themgaopa leh Jehoiada chapa Benaiah toh Lengpa vesuija pang sepai hon ahin juijun ahi. Lengpa Sakolpol achu Solomon atousah un ahi.
And the King hath sent with him Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they haue caused him to ride vpon the Kings mule.
45 Zadok le Nathan in Gihon ah leng dingin thao anu lhon in ahi. Amaho chu tutah chun ahung kile uvin ahileh khopi pumpi chun a kipapi uva asap u ahi. Hichu ahi achoh jeju achu,
And Zadok the Priest, and Nathan ye Prophet haue anointed him King in Gihon: and they are gone vp from thence with ioy, and the citie is moued: this is the noise that ye haue heard.
46 Hiche bana jong chu laltouna a Leng in a tou tan ahi.
And Salomon also sitteth on the throne of the kingdome.
47 Lengpa ding’a panmun nei Lamkai ho jousen jong leng David komma acheuvin Lengpa chu aga kipapi uvin, na Pathen in Solomon hi nang sangin minthang jo hen lang nang sang in jong vaihom lenjon hung kije sal jo hen atiuve. Lengpan jong alupna mun achun Pathen jana’n akun in ahi.
And moreouer the Kings seruantes came to blesse our lord King Dauid, saying, God make the name of Salomon more famous then thy name, and exalt his throne aboue thy throne: therefore the King worshipped vpon the bed.
48 Chuleh hiti chun aman “Israel Pathen chu thangvah in umhen, aman tuni’n keima hinkho sung in kamit mutah in ka khel’a laltouna a touding ei lhenpeh tan ahi” atin ahi.
And thus sayd the King also, Blessed bee the Lord God of Israel, who hath made one to sit on my throne this day, euen in my sight.
49 Hichun Adonijah loile golho sese chu tijatah'in anehkhom na’u dokhanga kon chun aki thecheh gam jeng un ahi.
Then all the ghestes that were with Adonijah, were afraide, and rose vp, and went euery man his way.
50 Adonijah chun Solomon akicha lheh jengin alhai jin muntheng’a maicham saki teni chu aga tuhchah jengin ahi.
And Adonijah fearing the presence of Salomon, arose and went, and tooke holde on the hornes of the altar.
51 Adonijah chun kichatah in maichama saki teni chu atuh chah jeng e tithu ahung kithang in Leng Solomon in jong ajadoh tan ahi. Hichun Adonijah jong ataovin “Leng Solomon in eitha louna dingin ki hahsel hen” tin ahi.
And one tolde Salomon, saying, Beholde, Adonijah doeth feare King Salomon: for lo, he hath caught holde on the hornes of the altar, saying, Let King Salomon sweare vnto me this day, that he will not slay his seruant with the sword.
52 Solomon in a donbut in, “Ama kitongkha ponte, ahinla achunga a phatmona aki mudoh leh thi ding ahi,” ati.
Then Salomon sayd, If he will shewe him selfe a worthy man, there shall not an heare of him fall to the earth, but if wickednes be found in him, he shall dye.
53 Hiti chun Solomon in Adonijah chu akouvin ahi leh ama chu maichamma konin ama kom apui lut un, Ama jana neitah in Solomon Lengpa ang-a akun in ahileh aman na inlang’a che tan,” atin ahi.
Then King Salomon sent, and they brought him from the altar, and he came and did obeisance vnto King Salomon. And Salomon sayde vnto him, Go to thine house.
