1 Corinth 1

Paul, called [to be] an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes [our] brother,

To the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called [to be] saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours.

Grace [be] to you, and peace from God our Father, and [from] the Lord Jesus Christ.

I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;

So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Who will also confirm you to the end, [that ye may be] blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God [is] faithful, by whom ye were called to the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and [that] there be no divisions among you; but [that] ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind, and in the same judgment.

For it hath been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by them [who are of the house] of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

12 Tu in hi thu kong son hi, noma sung ah khatsim in, keima sia Paul i pawl khi hi; taciang kei sia Apollos i pawl ka hihi; taciang kei sia Peter i pawl ka hihi; taciang kei sia Christ i pawl ka hihi, na ci uh hi.

Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

13 Christ sia ki khen ziam? Paul sia note atu in thinglamte tung ah a ki khai ziam? a hibale, Paul min taw tui na ki phum uh ziam?

Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

14 Note sung ah Crispus le Gaius simngawl kuama tuiphum ngawl ka hikom in Pathian tung ka lungdam hi;

I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;

15 Tua ahikom, Paul in ama min taw tuiphumna pia hi, kuama in ci thei ngawl tu hi.

Lest any should say that I had baptized in my own name.

16 Taciang Stephen te innkuan zong keima in tui ka phum hi: tua te simngawl a dang tui ka phum ka he bua hi.

And I baptized also the household of Stephanas; besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.

17 Banghangziam cile Christ in tuiphumna pia tu in hong sawl ngawl a, lungdamna thupha hil tu in hong sawl hi: tua thu sia ciimna kammal te taw hil tu hi ngawl hi, tabang hile Christ thinglamte sia vang nei ngawl suak tu hi.

For Christ hath not sent me to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.

18 Banghangziam cile thinglamte thuhil na sia a mangthang te atu in mawmawt na a hihi; ahihang ngupna a sang te a tu in Pathian i vangletna a hihi.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish, foolishness; but to us who are saved, it is the power of God.

19 Banghangziam cile, a ciim te i ciimna ka susia tu a, mipil te i telthiam na zong a mannung ngawl ka suaksak tu hi, ci in ki at hi.

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

20 Mihing ciim koisung ah om ziam? Thukhamhil te koisung ah om ziam? hi leitung ah thu nial te e koisung ah om zia? Pathian in hi leitung pilna sia mawmawtna suaksak zo hi ngawl ziam? (aiōn g165)

Where [is] the wise? where [is] the scribe? where [is] the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? (aiōn g165)

21 Banghangziam cile leitung mite in pilna taw Pathian a heak ngawl zawk ciang, Pathian i pilna sung ah mawmawtna thu pualakna a um te ngum tu in Pathian a lungkim hi.

For when in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

22 Banghangziam cile Judah mite in musakna ngen uh hi, taciang Greek mite in pilna zong uh hi:

For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek wisdom:

23 Ahihang kote in thinglamte tung ah a ki khai Christ thu ka hil uh hi, tua thu sia Judah mite atu in lutu na a hihi, taciang Greek mite atu in mawmawtna a hihi;

But we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling-block, and to the Greeks foolishness;

24 Ahihanng a kisam Judah mite le Greek mite atu in Christ sia Pathian vangletna le pilna a hihi.

But to them who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

25 Banghangziam cile Pathian i mawmawtna sia mihing te sang in ciim zaw hi; taciang Pathian i thaneamna sia mihing te sang in hat zaw hi.

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

26 Banghangziam cile suapui te awng, nang hong kisapna thu en vun, cilesa lam pan in mipil tampi, a vanglian le ulian thupi tampi na om bua uh hi:

For ye see your calling, brethren, that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble [are called]:

27 Ahihang Pathian in mipil te maizumsak tu in leitung taw kisai in a mawmaw te teal hi; taciang Pathian in a thahat te maizumsak tu leitung taw kisai in a thaneam te teal hi;

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

28 A omsa nate a mannung ngawl a suaksak tu in, leitung na mannung ngawl, bangma a ki simngawl nate le a om ngawl lai nate dong in Pathian in teal hi:

And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, and things which are not, to bring to naught things that are:

That no flesh should glory in his presence.

30 Ahihang note Ama tungtawn in Christ Jesus sung ah na om uh hi, Ama sia Pathian in eite atu in pilna, thutang suana, thianthosakna le tatna in hong vawtsak hi:

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who from God is made to us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

31 Tabang in, a ki at sa bangma in, a ki suangtak te sia Topa sung ah ki suangtak tahen.

That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
