< Rom 13 >

1 Thlang boeih ukkung ak kaiawh awm seh. Khawsa ing a mak tyh ukkung am awm hy. Ukkungna ak awmkhqi boeih ve Khawsa ing ak tyh khqi ni.
Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God.
2 Cedawngawh, u awm ukkungkhqi ak oelh thlang taw Khawsa ing a taak ce ak oelh thlang nani a awm, cemyihna amik sai thlangkhqi ingtaw amah ingkaw amah ak khanawh awidengnaak ce hu kaw.
Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgement.
3 Ik-oeih ak thym ak saikhqi aham ukkung kqih ham am awm hy, cehlai ik-oeih amak thym ak saikhqi ham ni kqih a awm. Uknaak ak takhqi ce amak kqih ham nak ngaih nu? Them leek mah sai lah, cawhtaw nim kyih bit kaw.
For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the authority,
4 Ikawtih nang ing them leek na sainaak aham anih ce Khawsa a tyihzawih na awm hy. Cehlai ik-oeih amak leek na sai awhtaw kqih lah, anih ing zawzi ce a zoena am tahy. Ik-oeih ak sai thawlhkhqi ak khanawh kawsonaak ak takung, Khawsa a tyihzawih na awm hy.
for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn’t bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil.
5 Cedawngawh toelnaak nak kqih doeng kaana namah a simnaak qoe qoe ingawm ukkung ak kaina na awm aham awm hy.
Therefore you need to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.
6 Cawhni mangmu awm nami peek hy, ukkung taw Khawsa a tyihzawih na a awm dawngawh, a mingmih ing ve a ik-oeih awh ve bibi uhy.
For this reason you also pay taxes, for they are servants of God’s service, continually doing this very thing.
Therefore give everyone what you owe: if you owe taxes, pay taxes; if customs, then customs; if respect, then respect; if honour, then honour.
8 Pynoet ingkaw pynoet lungnaak am kaa taw, ik-oeih laiba koeh ta law uh, u awm thlakchang ak lungnaak ingtaw anaa awi ce soep sak hawh hy.
Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbour has fulfilled the law.
9 Koeh samphaih; thlang koeh him; koeh qu; koeh nai,” tinaak awipeek ingkaw ikawmyih ak chang awipeek awm vawhkaw: “Namah a pum amyihna na imceng lung law na,” tinaak awi awh cui boeih hy.
For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.”
10 Lungnaak ing a kengsam thlang a seetnaak am sai hy. Cedawngawh lungnaak taw anaa awi a soepnaak na awm hy.
Love doesn’t harm a neighbour. Love therefore is the fulfilment of the law.
11 Tuh tloek awhkaw a tym ve sim doena, ve ve sai lah, nik cangnaak thai awhkawng lak awh hulnaak a tym ce a zoe law voe voe hawh dawngawh, ihnaak awhkawng na hang hqyng lawnaak a tym ce pha hawh hy.
Do this, knowing the time, that it is already time for you to awaken out of sleep, for salvation is now nearer to us than when we first believed.
12 Khawmthan boeih tawm ca hawh nawh; khaw dai tawm ca hawh hy. Cedawngawh than awhkaw ik-oeih saikhqi ce qoeng hlah unawh khawkdai a suisak ing thoeihcam qu hlah u sih.
The night is far gone, and the day is near. Let’s therefore throw off the deeds of darkness, and let’s put on the armour of light.
13 Khawkdai awhkaw amyihna khawboe leek sai unawh, oelh qunaak ingkaw tlaiseetnaakkhqi ce koeh ta u sih nyng.
Let’s walk properly, as in the day; not in revelling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts, and not in strife and jealousy.
14 Vemyihkhqi anglakawh Jesu Khrih ing thoeihcam qu unawh, pumsa ngaih thawlhnaak a soepnaak aham koeh poek law uh.
But put on the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts.
