< Rom 11 >

1 Cawhtaw kai ing doet nyng: Khawsa ing ak thlangkhqi ce ak hoet nu? Am hoet qoe qoe hy! Kai kamah awm Israel thlang, Abraham a cadil, Benjamin na awm nyng.
I say then, Did God cast off his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 Khawsa ing a sim cee hawh ak thlangkhqi ce am qoeng hy. Elijah ing Israelkhqi ama ngaih a dawngawh Khawsa venawh a cykcahnaak awi Cakciim awh ak awm ce am nami sim nawh nu?
God did not cast off his people which he foreknew. Or know ye not what the scripture saith of Elijah? how he pleadeth with God against Israel:
3 Bawipa na tawnghakhqi awm him unawh nang a bawkthangkhqi awm hqe hawh uhy; kai doeng ni ka awm hy, cehlai tuh kai awm him aham ni sui uhy,” a ti ce.
Lord, they have killed thy prophets, they have digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
4 Khawsa ing ikawmyihna awi am hlat peek ce? “Baal a haiawh khuk amak sym kamah aham thlang thong khqih hoep hun nyng,” tina hy.
But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have left for myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal.
5 Camih lawtna, tuhawm am qeennaak ing thlang ak tyh ce awm hun hy.
Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
6 Qeennaak ing ak tyk mantaw, bibinaak ak caming am voel hawh ni; bibinaak ak caming mantaw, qeennaak ce qeennaak na am awm voel kaw.
But if it is by grace, it is no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace.
7 Cawhtaw ikawmyihna a awmnaak? Israelkhqi ing ngaihtaak doena sui hlai uhy am hu uhy, ak tyhkhqi ingtaw hu uhy. Ak changkhqi taw kawlung hqam sak hy.
What then? That which Israel seeketh for, that he obtained not; but the election obtained it, and the rest were hardened:
8 Mik ta hlai uhy a mami huh thainaak aham, haa ta hlai uhy a maming zaak thainaak aham, tuhngawi dy awh, Khawsa ing a mingmih ce ngai qepnaak kawlung pek khqi hy,” tinawh qee hyt awm hawh hy.
according as it is written, God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, unto this very day.
9 David ingawm: A mingmih a caboei ce dawng ingkaw thang na awm seitaw, a mingmih ang bahnaak ingkaw a mi khawboe phu zawknaak na awm seh.
And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, And a stumblingblock, and a recompense unto them:
10 Khaw a mami huh thainaak aham a mi mikkhqi hyp seitaw, a mim tingkhqi ce khun seh,” ana tihy.
Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, And bow thou down their back always.
11 Doet tlaih lah vang nyng: ama mi thawh thainaak voel dyna tlu unawh nu? Amni! A mingmih a sai thawlhnaak awhkawng, Israelkhqi ing ami ytnaak aham, hulnaak ce Gentelkhqi venawh law hy.
I say then, Did they stumble that they might fall? God forbid: but by their fall salvation [is come] unto the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Cehlai a mingmih a sai thawlhnaak ce khawmdek boeinaak na awm nawh, a mingmih ing ami hlawng ce Gentelkhqi boeinaak na a awm awhtaw, a mingmih a soepnaak ing iqyt dy nu boeinaak ce a awm sak khqoet kaw!
Now if their fall is the riches of the world, and their loss the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
13 Nangmih Gentelkhqi venawh ni ka nik kqawn peek khqi. Gentelkhqi ham ceityih na ka awm khui taw, bi ve khawzah bi nyng,
But I speak to you that are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I glorify my ministry;
14 ikawmyihna awm kak thlangkhqi ing ytnaak ta unawh thlang vang awm hul na a mi awm thainaak aham bi bi nyng.
if by any means I may provoke to jealousy [them that are] my flesh, and may save some of them.
15 Ikawtih a mingmih ing a mi qoeng a dawngawh khawmdek ing tuqunaak na ang coeng awhtaw, a mingmih ing a mi do ak khqoet man thihnaak awhkawng hqingnaak na am awm kawm nu?
For if the casting away of them [is] the reconciling of the world, what [shall] the receiving [of them be], but life from the dead?
16 Phaihpi ak cyk ce pe nawh a ciimcaih sak hawh awhtaw, phaihpi a cuu boeih na ciimcaih hy; thingkung ce a ciim awhtaw, a baaikhqi awm ciimcaih hy.
And if the firstfruit is holy, so is the lump: and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
17 A baai a vang ce a ek awhtaw, nangmih, olive chap, olive thing a baai awh cawng na awm tiksaw ak kqa awhkawng ak pli ce hang taai na hyk ti,
But if some of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive, wast grafted in among them, and didst become partaker with them of the root of the fatness of the olive tree;
18 cedawngawh a baai chang ak khanawh koeh oek qu. Nang oek qu awhtaw, ve ve poek: nang ing ak kqa ce tha am pe hyk ti, ak kqa ing ni nang ce tha a ni peek.
glory not over the branches: but if thou gloriest, it is not thou that bearest the root, but the root thee.
19 Cedawngawh, Kai ve cawng na ka awmnaak thai aham a baaikhqi ek hy,” na ti aham awm hy.
Thou wilt say then, Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
20 Thym hy, a mingmih ing a ma mik cangnaak awh ni a mi ek hy, nangmih awm cangnaak awh ni naming dyih hy. Cedawngawh koeh hoel qu nawh taw, kqih lah.
Well; by their unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by thy faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 Khawsa ing a baai tang tang zani a mam hlyn awhtaw, nangmih awm am nim hlyn khqi kaw.
for if God spared not the natural branches, neither will he spare thee.
22 Cedawngawh Khawsa am qeennaak ingkaw a tlungthangnaak ce poek lah uh. Ak tlukhqi hamna taw ak khawngkhqi camawh ni; nang ahamna taw leek hy, a leeknaak awh na awm poe awhtaw; cekkaataw nang awm tluk sakna awm lawt kawp ti.
Behold then the goodness and severity of God: toward them that fell, severity; but toward thee, God’s goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23 Cangnaak kaana a mami awm poe awhtaw, a mingmih ce cawng khqi tlaih kaw.
And they also, if they continue not in their unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.
24 Nangmih olive thik chap awhkawng chawm na awm u tiksaw olive thing tang awh cawng na nami awm awhtaw, vawhkaw olive thing tangkhqi ak khqoet taw olive thing awh cawng hly thai khqoet saw!
For if thou wast cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and wast grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree; how much more shall these, which are the natural [branches], be grafted into their own olive tree?
25 Koeinaakhqi, nangmih ing am naming oekqunaak aham vawhkaw awihyp ve sim kaana nami awm aham am ngaih nyng: Gentelkhqi ami soepnaak nyn a pha hlan dy taw, Israelkhqi amik kawlung hqam kaw.
For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant of this mystery, lest ye be wise in your own conceits, that a hardening in part hath befallen Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in;
26 Cehlai Israelkhqi boeih hul na awm kaw; “Hulkung ce Zion awhkawng law kawmsaw; Jakob a venawh kawng Khawsa ama simnaak ce khawng kaw.
and so all Israel shall be saved: even as it is written, There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer; He shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 Ve ve a mingmih mi awikamnaak ka sai ni, a mingmih a thawlhnaak ce lawh pe kawng,” tinawh qee hyt hawh amyihna.
And this is my covenant unto them, When I shall take away their sins.
28 Awithang leek awi awhtaw, a mingmih ce nangmih a qaal na awm hlai uhy, tyknaak benawh taw, pakdamkhqi ak caming lungnaak hu uhy,
As touching the gospel, they are enemies for your sake: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sake.
29 Ikawtih Khawsa a zopeek kutdo ingkaw khynaak vetaw hqe thai na am awm hy.
For the gifts and the calling of God are not repented of.
30 Nangmih awm maa nataw Khawsak awi am ngai hlai uhyk ti a mingmih ing awi a mami ngainaak ak caming tuh awhtaw qeennaak ce hu hawh uhyk ti,
For as ye in time past were disobedient to God, but now have obtained mercy by their disobedience,
31 cemyih lawtna a mingmih awm Khawsa ing nangmih a venawh qeennaak a taak lawt amyihna qeennaak ami huh thainaak aham tuh awi am ngai uhy.
even so have these also now been disobedient, that by the mercy shown to you they also may now obtain mercy.
32 Thlang boeih ak khanawh qeennaak a taak thainaak aham, Khawsa ing thlang boeih ce awi amak ngai na tahy. (eleēsē g1653)
For God hath shut up all unto disobedience, that he might have mercy upon all. (eleēsē g1653)
33 Aw Khawsa a cyihnaak ingkaw thoemnaak boeinaak” ak dung soeih soeih ve! Ak awi dengnaak sim thai noeng am ingkaw, hquut thainaak a ceng benna ak awm lam aih ve!
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out!
34 U ing nu Bawipa ak kawlung ce a sim hawh? U ing nu anih ce khaw ak poek pyi?
For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
35 Khawsa ing a sam tlaihnaak aham, u ing nu ik-oeih a peek hawh?
or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
36 Ikawtih amah a ven awhkawng amah ak caming amah a venawh ik-oeih boeih ve awm hy. Amah a venawh thangleeknaak a poepa na awm seh! Amen. (aiōn g165)
For of him, and through him, and unto him, are all things. To him [be] the glory for ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
