< Luke 20 >

1 Hypoet taw bawkim awh thlang cawngpyi nawh awithang leek ak khypyi li awh, khawsoeih boeikhqi ingkaw anaa awi cawngpyikungkhqi ce a hqamcakhqi mi a venawh law uhy.
And it came to pass, [that] on one of those days, as he was teaching the people in the temple, and preaching the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon [him], with the elders,
2 Hana kaw saithainaak ing nu vawhkaw ik-oeihkhqi ve na sai? Anik pekung u aw? kqawn lah,” tina uhy.
And spoke to him, saying, Tell us, By what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?
3 Anih ing, “Cawhtaw awi pynoet awh ni doet khqi lah vang nyng; kqawn law lah uh,
And he answered and said to them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me:
4 Johan a baptisma ve khan ben na kaw nu, am awhtaw thlanghqing ben awhkaw nu?” tinak khqi hy.
The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men?
5 Cawh a mimah ce doet qu uhy, Khan benna kaw,” ni ti man, ‘cawhtaw kawtih amna mik cangnaak,’ tina hlyk khqi vik.
And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not?
6 Thlanghqing benna kaw ni,’ ni tinaak bai mantaw, Johan ve tawngha ni tinawh thlangkhqi ing ami sim hawh dawngawh, lung ing nik khawng khqi kaw,” ti uhy.
But if we say, From men; all the people will stone us: for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.
7 Cedawngawh a mingmih ing, “Han benna kaw hy voei nu, am sim unyng,” tina uhy.
And they answered, that they could not tell whence [it was].
8 Jesu ing, “Cawhtaw hana kaw saithainaak ing vawhkaw ik-oeihkhqi ka sai tice ap kqawn hly lawt nyng,” tinak khqi hy.
And Jesus said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
9 Cekcoengawh vawhkaw nyhtahnaak awi ve thlangkhqi venawh kqawn pek khqi poehoei hy. “Thlang pynoet ing misur dum tahy, a dum ce bibikung thlangkhqi venawh vat nawh amah taw khawk hla na cet valh hy.
Then he began to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.
10 Misur bit tym a pha law awhtaw a tyihzawih thlang pynoet ce misur thaih bit aham dum bibikungkhqi venna tyi hy. Cehlai dum bibikungkhqi ing anih ce vyk unawh kut hqawng na tyi uhy.
And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent [him] away empty.
11 Cekcoengawh tyihzawih ak chang ce tyi bai hy, anih ce awm vyk bai unawh, chahqai phyihkawt na ami thekhanaak coengawh kut hqawng na tyi bai uhy.
And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and treated [him] shamefully, and sent [him] away empty.
12 A tyizoeih a pakthumnaak ce tyi bai hy, anih ce awm a leem kqoengna khawng bai uhy.
And again he sent the third: and they wounded him also, and cast [him] out.
13 Cawh misur dum ak ta kung ing, ‘Kaw ka sai lah voei? Kalung naak ka capa man ka tyih hawh kaw; anih taw kqihchah na kawm uh,’ ti hy.
Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be when they see him they will reverence him.
14 Cehlai dum bibikungkhqi ing ami huh awh, a mimah ingkaw a mimah ce kqawn uhy. ‘Anih ve qo ak pang hly kawi ni; him unawh taw a qo ce ningnih aham awm seh nyng,’ ti uhy.
But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.
15 Cedawngawh anih ce misur dum a ceng na sawi unawh him uhy. Cawhtaw misur dum ak takung ing a mingmih ce ikawmyihna a saikhqi kaw?
So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed [him]. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do to them?
16 Dum bibikungkhqi boeih ce a him coengawh misur dum ce thlak chang a kut awh pe kaw,” tinak khqi hy. Ve ak awi ve thlangkhqi ing a ming zaak awh, “Ve myihna koeh awm seh,” ti uhy.
He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others. And when they heard [it], they said, may that never be.
17 Jesu ing a mingmih ce toek khqi nawh, “Cawhtaw vawhkaw kqawn hyt awi: “Ip sakungkhqi ing ami hoet lung ce a kil awh lung ak leek soeih a khoengna awm hy,’ a tive kaw ak kqawn ngaihnaak hy voei aw?
And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
18 U awm ce alung awh ak tlu taw kqek kawm saw, a namkhqi khqoet taw a dik a huina coeng kaw,” tinak khqi hy.
Whoever shall fall upon that stone, shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
19 Vawhkaw nyhtahnaak awi ve a mingmih ni ak kqawn sih hy tice ami sim dawngawh, anaa awi cawngpyikung khqi ingkaw khawsoeih boeikhqi ing anih ce tu pahoei aham a lam ce sui uhy. Cehlai thlang kqeeng ce kqih uhy.
And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.
20 Ak zoei cana qym nawh a thawlhnaak tu peek thainaak aham, thlak leek na ak sa qu, qymkungkhqi ce a venawh tyi uhy. Jesu ak awi kqawnnaak awh a thawlhnaak tu pe nawh saithainaak ak ta qam ukkung a venawh peek thainaak aham teng uhy.
And they watched [him], and sent forth spies, who should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him to the power and authority of the governor.
21 Cedawngawh amah ak qymkungkhqi ing doet uhy: “Cawngpyikung, ak thym kqawn nawh thlang cawngpyi hyk ti, u a hai awm a toek kaana awitak ing Khawsa a lam cawngpyi hyk ti tice sim unyng.
And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person [of any], but teachest the way of God truly:
22 Kaisar a venawh mangmu peek ve ak thym nu, amak thym nu?” tina uhy.
Is it lawful for us to give tribute to Cesar, or not?
23 A mingmih a thainaak ce a sim oel oel a dawngawh,
But he perceived their craftiness, and said to them, Why tempt ye me?
24 Ami venawh, “Tangka denari ce nim huh lah uh; uang myihlip ingkaw ming nu ak awm?” tinak khqi hy.
Show me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Cesar's.
25 Cekkhqi ing, Karsar, tina uhy. Cekkhqi venawh, “Cawhtaw Kaisar a koe ce Kaisar a venawh pe unawh taw, Khawsa a koe ce Khawsa venawh pe uh,” tinak khqi hy.
And he said to them, Render therefore to Cesar the things which are Cesar's, and to God the things which are God's.
26 Thlang kqeng a haiawh awi ak kqawnnaak awh a thawlhnaak am tu pe thai uhy. Cekkhqi awi am hlatnaak awh ce amik kawpoek kyi nawh, awm hqoeng uhy.
And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marveled at his answer, and held their peace.
27 Thawhtlaihnaak am awm hy amik ti Sadusi thlang vang tloek ing Jesu doet aham law uhy.
Then came to [him] certain of the Sadducees (who deny that there is any resurrection) and they asked him,
Saying, Master, Moses wrote to us, If any man's brother should die, having a wife, and he should die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.
29 Cingnahqui thlang khqih awm uhy. Lamma cyk ing zu lo hlai hy, ca a taak kaana thih tahy.
There were therefore seven brothers: and the first took a wife, and died without children.
30 A pakkhihnaak ing zuna tlaih nawh,
And the second took her for a wife, and he died childless.
31 cekcoengawh a pakthumnaak ing zuna tlaih bai hy; ca pynoet awm a taak kaana ak khqihna ce thi boeih uhy.
And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: And they left no children, and died.
32 A hukhit nataw cawhkaw nu awm thi lawt hy.
Last of all the woman died also.
33 Cawhtaw, thawh tlaihnaak khawnghi awh cawhkaw nu ce a u mih a zuna nu a awm kaw, khqih ing zuna boeih u saw?” tina uhy.
Therefore in the resurrection, whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.
34 Jesu ing, “Ve khawmdek thlangkhqi ing zu lo va ta uhy; (aiōn g165)
And Jesus answering, said to them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: (aiōn g165)
35 Cehlai ce a hun awh ak awm kawikhqi taw thlak thi thawh tlaihnaak khawnghi awh zu loh va taak, chungvaa am awm voel hawh kaw, (aiōn g165)
But they who shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage. (aiōn g165)
36 thi awm am thi voel kawm uh; khan ceityihkhqi amyihna awm kawm usaw; ak tho tlaih cakhqi na ami awm hawh dawngawh Khawsa cakhqi na awm hawh kawm uh.
Neither can they die any more: for they are equal to the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
37 Thlak thi thawhtlaihna a awmnaak hly Mosi ingawm, thingbup akawng lamawh ce, Bawipa ce, 'Abraham a Khawsa, Isak a Khawsa, Jakob a Khawsa,’ a tinaak awh dang sak hy.
Now that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
38 Anih taw thlak thi Khawsa na am awm nawh, thlak hqing a Khawsa nani a awm, amah awh thlang boeih ce hqing hy,” tinak khqi hy.
For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live to him.
39 Anaa awi cawngpyikung thlang vang ing, “Cawngpyikung, nak kqawn ce thym hy,” tina uhy.
Then certain of the scribes answering, said, Master, thou hast well said.
40 Cekcoengawh kawng taw u ingawm awi am doet voel uhy.
And after that, they durst not ask him any question at all.
41 Cekcoengawh Jesu ing cekkhqi venawh, “Ikawmyihna a mingmih ing Khrih ve David Capa tinawh amik kqawn hy voei?
And he said to them, How say they that Christ is David's son?
42 David amah ingtaw Saam cabu awh: Bawipa ing ka Bawipa a venawh:
And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
43 Na qaalkhqi ce na khawtloeng na ka sai hlan dy taw, kak tang benawh ngawi lah,” tinawh kqawn hy.
Till I make thy enemies thy footstool.
44 David ing anih ce ‘Bawipa,’ tinawh khy hy. Cawhtaw ikawmyihna a capa na a awm hly thai?” tinak khqi hy.
David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?
45 Thlangkhqi ing ak awih kqawn ce a ming ngai huiawh, Jesu ing a hubatkhqi venawh,
Then in the audience of all the people, he said to his disciples,
46 Anaa awi cawngpyikungkhqi awh ce ngaihtaak lah uh; A mingmih ingtaw hik dung bai unawh khawlakawh aming van lungna uhy, thlang ing ik-oeih a zawihnaak hun awh kqihchahnaak peekkhqi lungna unawh sinakawk awh ngawihnaak ak leek leek ingkaw buh veelnaak kung awh a qyp ak awm ngawihnaakkhqi ce lungna uhy.
Beware of the scribes, who desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
47 Hahqahkhqi im ce hul pe unawh thlang amik huh awh ak dung soeih na cykcah uhy. Vemih ak thlangkhqi ing ve zawk khqoet khqoet kawm uh,” tinak khqi hy.
Who devour widows' houses, and for a show make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.
