< Kolosa 2 >

1 Nangmih ingkaw Laodicea khaw awh ak awmkhqi, pumsa awh kai ama nik hu khawi thlangkhqi boeih aham iqyt ka khuikha ti nami sim aham ngaih nyng.
For I would have you know in how severe a struggle I am engaged on behalf of you and the brethren in Laodicea and of all who have not known me personally,
2 Kawlung ngaihqepnaak ta unawh lungnaak ing naming tuqu aham ngaih nyng; cawh ni zaksimnaak ta unawh, Khawsak awihyp, Khrih ce ami sim hly thai,
in order that their hearts may be cheered, they themselves being welded together in love and enjoying all the advantages of a reasonable certainty, till at last they attain the full knowledge of God's truth, which is Christ Himself.
3 anih awh cyihnaak ingkaw simnaak boeih ce thuh na awm hy.
In Him all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are stored up, hidden from view.
4 Thlang ing pauthainaak ing nangmih a mani thainaak khqi aham ve ve nik kqawn pek khqi nyng.
I say this to prevent your being misled by any one's plausible sophistry.
5 Nangmih a venawh pumsa na am awm hlai nyng, kang myihla taw nangmih a venawh awm nawh nangmih ing a cypmyih na Khrih awh cangnaak cak ing nami awm ce huh aham ngaih nyng.
For although, as you say, I am absent from you in body, yet in spirit I am present with you and am delighted to witness your good discipline and the solid front presented by your faith in Christ.
6 Cawhtaw, Jesu Khrih ce Boei na namik kqoeh hawh a dawngawh, anih awh awm poe lah uh,
As therefore you have received the Christ, even Jesus our Lord, live and act in vital union with Him;
7 Amah awh namik kqa thla u nawhtaw dyi lah uh, cawngpyinaak nami huh hawh amyihna cangnaak awh namik tha awm sak unawh, zeelnaak ing be ngen lah uh.
having the roots of your being firmly planted in Him, and continually building yourselves up in Him, and always being increasingly confirmed in the faith as you were taught it, and abounding in it with thanksgiving.
8 U ingawm awihqawng khawmdek cyihnaak ing koeh ni thai nak khqi seh, cemyihkhqi ce thlanghqing a phung ing Khrih awh amak koemkhqi khawmdek them nani ami awm.
Take care lest there be some one who leads you away as prisoners by means of his philosophy and idle fancies, following human traditions and the world's crude notions instead of following Christ.
9 Khrih awh Khawsa soepnaak boeih boeih pum ce awm hy,
For it is in Christ that the fulness of God's nature dwells embodied, and in Him you are made complete,
10 saithainaak boeih a lu na ak awm, Khrih awh soepnaak ce nangmih a venawh peek na awm hawh hy.
and He is the Lord of all princes and rulers.
11 Anih awh, khawmdek thawlh hlamnaak chahhuiqeet na awm hawh uhyk ti, thlanghqing a kut sai chahhuiqeet na am awm nawh Khrih a sai chahhuiqeetnaak ni,
In Him also you were circumcised with a circumcision not performed by hand, when you threw off your sinful nature in true Christian circumcision;
12 baptisma awh amah ing pup haih na awm u tiksaw, amah ce thihnaak awhkawng anik hulkung Khawsa ak thaawm cangnaak ak caming ak tho haih na awm bai uhyk ti.
having been buried with Him in your baptism, in which you were also raised with Him through faith produced within you by God who raised Him from among the dead.
13 Thawlhnaak awh thih na awm u tiksaw, khawmdek thawlhnaak awh chahhuiqeet kaana nami awm awh, Khawsa ing Khrih ing ni hqing sak khqi haih hawh hy. Ningmih a thawlhnaak boeih awh qeenkhaw ning ngai pek khqi hawh hy.
And to you--dead as you once were in your transgressions and in the uncircumcision of your natural state--He has nevertheless given Life with Himself, having forgiven us all our transgressions.
14 Cauk awh qee na ak awm, cawngpyinaak awi, ningnih a qaal na ak awm ce lo nawh, thinglam awh heen boeih hawh hy.
The bond, with its requirements, which was in force against us and was hostile to us, He cancelled, and cleared it out of the way, nailing it to His Cross.
15 Saithainaak thaawmnaak khqi ce tha boeih sak nawh, thinglam ing cekkhqi ce a noeng coengawh thlang kqeng amik huh awh dang sak hy.
And the hostile princes and rulers He shook off from Himself, and boldly displayed them as His conquests, when by the Cross He triumphed over them.
16 Cedawngawh u ingawm nangmih a awk a ai awh, bawknaak benawh kaw poei khawnghi awh, hlak thai awh Sabbath awh awi koeh ni deng khqi seh.
Therefore suffer no one to sit in judgement on you as to eating or drinking or with regard to a festival, a new moon or a sabbath.
17 Vemyihkhqi taw ak law hly kawi ik-oeih ang myihlip na awm nawh; a tak taw Khrih awh ni hu hy.
These were a shadow of things that were soon to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.
18 Amak thym ak kaina awmnaak a lungnaakkhqi ingkaw khan ceityih ak bawkkhqi ing kutdo na huh hly kawi awh koeh ni lawlh koeh ni maih u seh. Cemyih ak thlang ingtaw a huh ik-oeih ce ak dung na poek nawh; myihla amak awm kawlung ce thangaknaak ing oek qu sak hy.
Let no one defraud you of your prize, priding himself on his humility and on his worship of the angels, and taking his stand on the visions he has seen, and idly puffed up with his unspiritual thoughts.
19 Lu ing tuqunaak lam hang hy, lu awhkawng ni pum boeih tha pe nawh quhqawng ingkaw thaqui thakqaa khqi boeih ak thamah sak nawh, Khawsa a ngaih kawi amyihna taai khawi hy.
Such a one does not keep his hold upon Christ, the Head, from whom the Body, in all its parts nourished and strengthened by its points of contact and its connections, grows with a divine growth.
20 Ve khawmdek a kung kqannaak awh Khrih nami thih haih hawh a dawngawh, kawtih khawmdek a koe na ak awm amyihna:
If you have died with Christ and have escaped from the world's rudimentary notions, why, as though your life still belonged to the world, do you submit to such precepts as
21 Koeh tu! Koeh teng! Koeh bi!” ti uknaak ak khuiawh nami awm paqap kaw?
"Do not handle this;" "Do not taste that;" "Do not touch that other thing" --
22 Vekkhqi boeih taw thlanghqing ak awipeek ingkaw cawngpyinaak awi na a awmawh a hawnnaak hly kawi nani a awm boeih hy.
referring to things which are all intended to be used up and perish--in obedience to mere human injunctions and teachings?
23 Vemyih cawngpyinaak awi, nimah a ngaih poeknaak, bawknaak, amak thym na ak kaina awmnaak ingkaw nimah a pum ak tlo soeih na khuikha peeknaakkhqi ve ak khan awhtaw ak cyi amyihna dang hlai hy, pumsa a ngaih soepnaak aham a hawihkhangnaak am awm hy.
These rules have indeed an appearance of wisdom where self-imposed worship exists, and an affectation of humility and an ascetic severity. But not one of them is of any value in combating the indulgence of our lower natures.
