1 Pentecost nyn a pha awh hun pynoet awh kutoet na awm boeih uhy.
And when the day of Pentecost was now accomplishing, they were all together in one place.
2 Kawlhkalh awh khawhli awi amyihna khan nakawng awi ce law nawh a mingmih ang ngawihnaak ipkhui ce be khyp hy.
And there came suddenly a sound out of heaven as of a violent impetuous blowing, and filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 Cawh thlang pynoet qip ak khanawh lai amyihna ak awm mai ce hu uhy.
And there appeared to them parted tongues, as of fire, and it sat upon each one of them.
4 Cekkhqi boeih ce Ciim Myihla ing be unawh Myihla ing a pau sak amyihna awihchang na pau uhy.
And they were all filled with [the] Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave to them to speak forth.
5 Cawh khawnghi ak kai awh ak awm Khawsa ak kqih Juda thlangkhqi boeih boeih ce Jerusalem awh awm uhy.
Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, pious men, from every nation of those under heaven.
6 Cek awi ce a ming zaak awh thlang khawzah cun law unawh, thlang boeih ing ce amik awi pau ce amimah ak awina aming zaak awh amik kawpoekna kyi hy.
But the rumour of this having spread, the multitude came together and were confounded, because each one heard them speaking in his own dialect.
7 Thlang boeih ing kawpoek kyi ngaihang doena, “Toek lah uh, vawhkaw awikhqi ve Galili awi boeih am nu?
And all were amazed and wondered, saying, Behold, are not all these who are speaking Galilaeans?
8 Ikawtinawh ni thangpyi awi amyihna ning zaak hy voei?
and how do we hear [them] each in our own dialect in which we have been born,
9 Thlang vang Parthia khaw, Media ingkaw Elam khaw awhkaw ak awmkhqi; thlang vang taw Mesopotamia, Judah ingkaw Kapadocia, Pontus ingkaw Asia qamawh ak awmkhqi,
Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those who inhabit Mesopotamia, and Judaea, and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
10 Thlang vang bai taw Phrygia ingkaw Pamphylia, Izip ingkaw Libya qam Cyqene khaw keng awhkaw thlangkhqi, Rom khawawh ak awmkhqi ingkaw
both Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the parts of Libya which adjoin Cyrene, and the Romans sojourning [here], both Jews and proselytes,
11 (Judakhqi ingkaw Juda phung ak hqutkhqi); Crete ingkaw Arab thlangkhqi na ni awm hlai uhy – Khawsa ak kawpoek kyi ik-oeih sai ve nimah ak awi na ning za boeih thai ve!” ti uhy.
Cretans and Arabians, we hear them speaking in our own tongues the great things of God?
12 Thlang boeih amik kawpoek kyi ing, a kawnglam am zasim thai unawh, “Veve ikawmyih hly hy voei nu? ti unawh doet qu uhy.
And they were all amazed and in perplexity, saying one to another, What would this mean?
13 Cawh thlang vang ingtaw qaihnakkhqi unawh, “Misur zuk thai ak quikhqi ni,” ti uhy.
But others mocking said, They are full of new wine.
14 Cehlai Piter taw thlanghqa hlaioet khqi mi dyi unawh, anih ing khawteh na ak awi y nawh awi kqawn hy, “Nangmih Juda khawkthlangkhqi ingkaw Jerusalem awh ak awm thlangkhqi boeih aw, ve ve sim unawh kak kqawn ve ngai lah uh.
But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and spoke forth to them, Men of Judaea, and all ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give heed to my words:
15 Vekkhqi ve nangmih ing namik poek amyihna, zu am qui uhy. Tuhawh mymcang khawnoek kow ni a law hun hy!
for these are not full of wine, as ye suppose, for it is the third hour of the day;
16 Vetaw tawngha Joel ing anak kqawn ceni:
but this is that which was spoken through the prophet Joel,
17 “Khawnghi a dyt tym awh ce, Khawsa ing, thlang boeih ce kang Myihla ing syp kawng nyng saw, nami capakhqi ingkaw nami canukhqi ing awi khypyi kawm uh. Cadawngkhqi ing hatnaak hu kawm usaw, pacawngkhqi ing mang han kawm uh.
And it shall be in the last days, saith God, [that] I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your elders shall dream with dreams;
18 Ka tamnaa pakhqi ingkaw ka tamnaa nukhqi ak khan awhawm kang Myihla syp kawng nyng saw, ka awi kqawn kawm uh.
yea, even upon my bondmen and upon my bondwomen in those days will I pour out of my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
19 Khawhii awh kawpoek kyi themkhqi ingkaw, deklai kaiawh hatnaakkhqi ce nim huh kawng nyng; Thi, mai ingkaw maikhu ing dang sak kawng nyng.
And I will give wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
20 Bawipa a khawnghi bau ingkaw boeimangnaak ce a pha hlanawh, Khawmik ce than kawmsaw, pihla ce thi na thoeng kaw.
the sun shall be changed to darkness and the moon to blood, before the great and gloriously appearing day of [the] Lord come.
21 Cawh u awm Bawipang ming ak khy boeih taw hulna awm kaw,’ a tice ni.
And it shall be that whosoever shall call upon the name of [the] Lord shall be saved.
22 “Nangmih Israel thlangkhqi aw, ve ve ngai lah uh: Nazareth Jesu ce Khawsa ing dyihpyi nawh nangmih a venawh kawpoek kyi them ing hatnaakkhqi ce sai law sak hy, namimah ingawm sim uhyk ti.
Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus the Nazaraean, a man borne witness to by God to you by works of power and wonders and signs, which God wrought by him in your midst, as yourselves know
23 Anih ce Khawsa ing khaw khan oepchoeh nawh a sim oepchoeh hawh amyihna, nangmih a kut awh peek nace awm hy; cawh nangmih ing thlakchekhqi ak bawngnaak ing anih ce thinglam awh khing nawh him uhyk ti.
— him, given up by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye, by [the] hand of lawless [men], have crucified and slain.
24 Cehlai anih ce Khawsa ing thihnaak awhkawng thawh sak tlaih nawh, thihnaak ingkaw khy am kqangnaak ak khuiawh kawng loet sak hawh hy, kawtih thihnaak ing anih ce am tu khak thai hy.
Whom God has raised up, having loosed the pains of death, inasmuch as it was not possible that he should be held by its power;
25 David ing ak awi kqawn nawh, “Ka haiawh Bawipa ce hu poepa nyng. Ka ngai ama hangnaak aham kak tang benawh awm hy.
for David says as to him, I foresaw the Lord continually before me, because he is at my right hand that I may not be moved.
26 Cedawngawh kak kawlung ve zeel nawh kam lai ve ak kaw zeel hy; Ka pum awm ngaih-unaak ing hqing kaw,
Therefore has my heart rejoiced and my tongue exulted; yea more, my flesh also shall dwell in hope,
27 Ikawtih nang ing phyi khuiawh am nik khawng hyt kawm tiksaw, Nak thlang ciim ce thuh zip aham am ngaih kawp ti. (Hadēs g86)
for thou wilt not leave my soul in hades, nor wilt thou give thy gracious one to see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
28 Nang ing hqingnaak lam ce nani sim sak hawh a dawngawh; Na haiawh zeelnaak ing ni be sak kawp ti,” tinawh kqawn hy.
Thou hast made known to me [the] paths of life, thou wilt fill me with joy with thy countenance.
29 Koeinaakhqi, pakdam David a kawng ve ak kqih kanaa nami venawh kqawn law nyng; anih ce thi nawh, phyi khui byihna awm hawh hy, ak phyi awm tuhdy ni venawh awm poe hy.
Brethren, let it be allowed to speak with freedom to you concerning the patriarch David, that he has both died and been buried, and his monument is amongst us unto this day.
30 Anih taw tawngha na awm nawh, Khawsa ing a venawh awikam nawh amah a ngawihdoelh awh a cadil thlang pynoet ngawih sak kaw tinawh awi a taak ce sim hy.
Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath, of the fruit of his loins to set upon his throne;
31 Ni hai benawh ak awm law hly kawi ik-oeih ce a sim oepchoeh a dawngawh, anih ce phyi khuiawh am khawng hyt kawmsaw, a pum awm am thu kaw, tinawh Khrih a thawh tlaihnaak akawng ce anak kqawn oepchoeh hawh hy. (Hadēs g86)
he, seeing [it] before, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that neither has he been left in hades nor his flesh seen corruption. (Hadēs g86)
32 Cawhkaw Jesu ce Khawsa ing thawh sak tlaih nawh, cawhkaw ik-oeih ak simpyikung dyihthing na kaimih ve awm unyng.
This Jesus has God raised up, whereof all we are witnesses.
33 Pa ak tang benawh zoeksangna awm nawh, Pa ing awi ataak Ciim Myihla ce hu hawh hy, nami huh naming zaak ve ing syypna awm nawh ni.
Having therefore been exalted by the right hand of God, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which ye behold and hear.
34 David ce khawk khan na am kaai hy, anih qoe ing, “Bawipa ing ka Bawipa venawh: 'Kak tang benawh ngawi lah.
For David has not ascended into the heavens, but he says himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit at my right hand
35 Na qaalkhqi ce na khawtloeng na ka taak hlan dy,” tinawh anak kqawn hy.
until I have put thine enemies [to be] the footstool of thy feet.
36 Cedawngawh Israel thlangkhqi boeih ing ve ve sim lah uh: Nangmih ing thinglam awh nami taai Jesu ce Khawsa ing Boei ingkaw Khrih na sai hawh hy,” tinak khqi hy.
Let the whole house of Israel therefore know assuredly that God has made him, this Jesus whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37 Thlangkhqi ing ce ak awi ce a ming zaak awh, amik kawlung awh sun amyihna za unawh, Piter ingkaw ceityihkhqi venawh, “Koeinaakhqi ikawmyihna nu ka mi ti kaw?” tinawh doet uhy.
And having heard [it] they were pricked in heart, and said to Peter and the other apostles, What shall we do, brethren?
38 Piter ing, “Thawlh zut unawh taw, thawlh qeenkhaw ngainaak aham, Jesu Khrih ang ming awh baptisma hu boeih uh. Cawhtaw Ciim Myihla themzoe peek ce hu kawm uk ti.
And Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptised, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for remission of sins, and ye will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 Vawhkaw awikamnaak vetaw na mimah aham, nami cakhqi ham ingkaw ak hla nakaw ak awm thlangkhqi boeih – Bawipa nangmih a Khawsa ing ak khy thlangkhqi boeih aham ni,” tinak khqi hy.
For to you is the promise and to your children, and to all who [are] afar off, as many as [the] Lord our God may call.
40 Awih chang khawzah ing a mingmih a venawh ngaihtaaknaak awi kqawn pek khqi hy; a mingmih a venawh, “Vawhkaw ak plam cadilkhiq anglak awhkawng na mimah ingkaw na mimah ce hul qu lah uh,” tinawh kqawncaih pek khqi hy.
And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, Be saved from this perverse generation.
41 Anih ak awih kqawn ak dokhqi boeih ing baptisma ce hu uhy, ce a nyn awh ce thlang thong thum ing sap khqi hy.
Those then who had accepted his word were baptised; and there were added in that day about three thousand souls.
42 Ceityihkhqi a cawngpyinaak awi ce ngai unawh pawlnengnaak ce ta uhy, phaihpi thek unawh cykcah uhy.
And they persevered in the teaching and fellowship of the apostles, in breaking of bread and prayers.
43 Thlang boeih kqihnaak ing be unawh ceityihkhqi ing kawpoek kyi hatnaakkhqi ce sai uhy.
And fear was upon every soul, and many wonders and signs took place through the apostles' means.
44 Ak cangnaak thlangkhqi boeih ing them pynoet na cuut uhy.
And all that believed were together, and had all things common,
45 Ami khawhthemkhqi ce zawi unawh, ak voethlauh thlangkhqi ce pe uhy.
and sold their possessions and substance, and distributed them to all, according as any one might have need.
46 Myngawi na bawkim awh cun poepa uhy. Im awh phaihpi ce teei unawh kawlung kutoet cana zeelnaak ing ai haih uhy,
And every day, being constantly in the temple with one accord, and breaking bread in [the] house, they received their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
47 Khawsa ce a mim kyihcah coengawh thlang boeih ak kawngaih na khaw sa uhy. Hulnaak ak hukhqi ing Bawipa ing a mingmih ce myngawi na sap khqi hy.
praising God, and having favour with all the people; and the Lord added [to the assembly] daily those that were to be saved.
