Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s chosen ones and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,
2 Te te oltak Pathen loh khosuen tue hlanah ni a kam coeng. (aiōnios g166)
in hope of the consummate (aiōnios g166) life, which God, who cannnot lie, promised before time began;
3 Tedae olhoe dongah amah kah olka tah amah tue vaengah phoe coeng. Tekah te mamih khangkung Pathen kah olpaek vanbangla kai taengah a hal coeng.
but in his own time revealed his word in the message with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior,

to Titus, my true child according to a common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.
5 Te ham ni Krete ah nang kang khueh. Te daengah ni Kai loh nang kan uen vanbangla kho takuem ah a hamca rhoek na tuek vetih a vawtthoek te na soepsoei thai eh.
I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you—
6 Tedae khat khat ni cimbit la a om atah, yuu va pakhat bueng aka om, a ca rhoek uepom la aka om, cungpoehnah neh thinthah dongah lai om boel saeh.
if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, who are not accused of loose or unruly behavior.
7 Hiphoelkung he Pathen kah hnokhoem la a om dongah a cimbit la om ham a kuek. Cungpoeh boel saeh, thintoi boel saeh, yumi boel saeh, kuthlah boel saeh, tangkarhai boel saeh.
For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward, not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;
8 Tedae moeihoeih la, ko-op la, cuepmueih la, a dueng la, a cim la kuemsuem saeh.
but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled,

holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.
10 Thinthah rhoek, olhong rhoek neh vuelvaekkung rhoek loh, olpuei la yahvinrhetnah khuikah muep om ngawn.
For there are also many unruly men, vain talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,
11 Amih te kamkhuem sak ham a kuek coeng. Amih loh rhaidaeng a ti uh mueh la imkhui tom a palet uh tih amah hoeikhangnah ham te a thuituen uh.
whose mouths must be stopped: men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for dishonest gain’s sake.
12 Amih khuikah hlang pakhat, amih kah tonghma loh, “Krete, laithae rhoek, boethae maehkai, palyal bungkawng taitu uh mai,” a ti.
One of them, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, and idle gluttons.”
13 Hekah laipai tah thuem. Tekah paelnaehnah lamloh amih te rhap toeltham. Te daengah ni tangnah dongah a sa a ding uh eh.
This testimony is true. For this cause, reprove them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,
14 Judah rhoek kah yancil neh oltak aka phaelh hlang rhoek kah olpaek te hnatung boeh.
not paying attention to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.
15 A rhoepsaep he aka caih rhoek ham a caih la om. Tedae aka boi rhoek neh aka tangnahmueh rhoek ham tah caih pawh. Tedae amih kah lungbuei neh mingcimnah khaw boi uh coeng.
To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.
16 Pathen te ming ham a phong uh dae a khoboe neh a hnawt uh. Rhalawt la om uh tih lokhak uh. Bibi then boeih nen khaw lolhmaih uh.
They profess that they know God, but by their deeds they deny him, being abominable, disobedient, and unfit for any good work.
