< Solomon Laa 1 >

1 Laa rhoek khuikah Laa he Solomon kah ni.
The song of songs, which is Solomon's.
2 Namah hlo tah misurtui lakah then tih a ka dongkah moknah neh kai m'mok lah sue.
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for your love is better than wine.
3 Namah tah situi bo neh na then pai tih situi loh na ming a puem pai. Te dongah ni hula rhoek long nang n'lungnah.
Because of the savour of your good ointments your name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love you.
4 Namah hnukah kai m'mawt lamtah yong mai sih. Kai he manghai loh amah imhman la n' khuen coeng.
Draw me, we will run after you: the king has brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in you, we will remember your love more than wine: the upright love you.
5 Ka muem cakhaw Jerusalem nu rhoek tah Kedar dap banglam khaw, Solomon himbaiyan banglam khaw rhoeprhui mai.
I am black, but comely, O all of you daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.
6 Khomik loh kai n'hmuh tih ka muem dongah nim kai nan hmuh pawh? Ka manu ca rhoek te kai taengah sai tih misurdum aka hung la kai n'khueh uh. Kamah taengkah ka misurdum ka hung pawt ah.
Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun has looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.
7 Ka hinglu kah a lungnah te kamah taengah thui lah.
Tell me, O you whom my soul loves, where you feed, where you make your flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turns aside by the flocks of your companions?
If you know not, O you fairest among women, go your way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed your kids beside the shepherds' tents.
9 Ka cangyaeh namah tah Pharaoh leng dongkah ka marhang manu kam puet sak.
I have compared you, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots.
Your cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, your neck with chains of gold.
11 Nang hamla sui aitlaeng neh cak hnathawn khaw n'saii bitni.
We will make you borders of gold with studs of silver.
12 Kamah kah rhai-ul tah manghai amah loh a caboei dongah a hmuehmuei la a khueh.
While the king sits at his table, my spikenard sends forth the smell thereof.
13 Kamah hlo kah murrah cun tah kamah ham ka rhangsuk laklo ah rhaeh coeng.
A bundle of myrrh is my well-beloved unto me; he shall lie all night between my breasts.
14 Kamah taengkah kamah hlo tah Engedi misurdum kah tlansum thaihsu ni.
My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire in the vineyards of Engedi.
Behold, you are fair, my love; behold, you are fair; you have doves' eyes.
Behold, you are fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green.
17 Lamphai tah mah im kah tungpum saeh lamtah hmaical tah mah kah paekhop saeh.
The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.
