1 Jeduthun loh mawt vaengkah ham David kah Tingtoenglung “Ka lai te tholh ve tila ka khosing ka ngaithuen vetih ka hmai ah halang khui atah ka ka dongah kahu ka khueh mai bitni,” ka ti.
To the chief Musician, [even] to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.
2 Duemnah neh ka tum uh tih a then lamloh ka ngam hatah ka thakkhoeihnah loh n'lawn.
I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, [even] from good; and my sorrow was stirred.
3 Ka kohnuenah neh ka ko khuiah ka lungbuei loh ling sut tih hmai la a rhong dongah ka lai neh,
My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: [ then] spake I with my tongue,
4 “Aw BOEIPA, ka hmakhah neh ka khohnin kah cungnueh te kai m'ming sak lah. Kai he hlang loh metla n'hnawt n'khoe m'ming sak lah.
LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it [is; that] I may know how frail I [am].
5 Ka khohnin he kutsom pakhat dawk nan khueh tih ka khosaknah he namah hmai ah a hong la coeng. Te dongah hlang boeih he a honghi la rhip pai. (Selah)
Behold, thou hast made my days [as] an handbreadth; and mine age [is] as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state [is] altogether vanity. (Selah)
6 Tedae hlang he mueihlip bangla cet tih a honghi la ko uh. A hmoek dae u loh a coi khaw ming pawh.
Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up [riches], and knoweth not who shall gather them.
7 Tedae balae ka lamtawn pueng. Ka ngaiuepnah he ka Boeipa namah dongah ni a om.
And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope [is] in thee.
8 Ka dumlai boeih lamkah kai n'huul lah. Hlang ang kah kokhahnah la kai nan khueh moenih.
Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.
9 Namah loh na saii coeng dongah ka ka ang muehla ka khom.
I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst [it].
10 Na kut rham loh kai n'khah coeng dongah namah kah phaepnah he kai taeng lamkah han khoe laeh.
Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.
11 Thaesainah dongah toelthamnah neh hlang na toel. Bungbo kah a cak bangla a hlangthen te na hma sak dongah hlang boeih he a honghi ni. (Selah)
When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man [is] vanity. (Selah)
12 Aw BOEIPA, ka thangthuinah han ya lamtah ka mikphi neh ka pang vaengah hnatun lah. A pa rhoek boeih bangla kai khaw nang taengah lampah neh yinlai la ka om dongah olmueh ha dik boeh.
Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I [am] a stranger with thee, [and] a sojourner, as all my fathers [were].
13 Ka cet tih ka khum hlan ah ka ngai a dip ham khaw kai taeng lamkah mangthong mai dae.
O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more.
