1 Egypt lamloh Israel, kholong ol cal pilnam lamloh Jakob imkhui ha pai vaengah;

When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;

2 A hmuencim la Judah, a khohung la Israel a om pah.

Judah was his sanctuary, [and] Israel his dominion.

3 Tuitunli loh a hmuh vaengah rhaelrham tih, Jordan khaw a hnuk la mael.

The sea saw [it], and fled: Jordan was driven back.

4 Tlang rhoek khaw som rhoek kah tutal rhoek neh, boiva ca bangla na cungpet uh.

The mountains skipped like rams, [and] the little hills like lambs.

5 Tuitunli nang te bahamnim na rhaelrham, Jordan long khaw a hnuk la na mael?

What [ailed] thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, [that] thou wast driven back?

6 Tlang rhoek khaw som rhoek kah tutal rhoek neh, boiva ca bangla na cungpet uh.

Ye mountains, [that] ye skipped like rams; [and] ye little hills, like lambs?

7 Diklai nang Boeipa mikhmuh neh, Jakob Pathen mikhmuh ah thuen lah.

Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

8 Anih loh lungpang te tuibap tui la, hmailung khaw tuisih tui la a coeng sak.

Which turned the rock [into] a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
