< Luka 8 >

1 Te a poeng phoeiah amah loh khopuei boeih neh vangca patoeng a hil. Te vaengah Pathen ram te a hoe tih a olthangthen a thui. A hnukbang hlainit loh anih te a pueiuh.
And it came to pass afterwards that He went through every city and village, preaching and declaring the good tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with Him;
2 Mueihla thae, vawtthoeknah lamkah aka hoeih tangtae la aka om huta hlangvang rhoek, a khui lamkah rhaithae parhih loh a nong tak Magdala la a khue Mary,
and some women that had been cured of evil spirits and other infirmities, as Mary Magdalene, out of whom were cast seven demons,
3 Herod buhtaem Chuza yuu Joanna, Susanna neh a tloe rhoek khaw muep lo uh tih amih loh Jesuh khaw a hnukbang rhoek te khaw a khuehtawn neh a bongyong uh.
and Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, who assisted Him with their substance.
4 Khopuei takuem kah hlangping te muep capit uh tih a taengla ha pawk uh.
And when a great multitude was gathered together, of those that came to Him out of every city, He spake a parable saying,
5 Te vaengah nuettahnah neh, “Cangti aka tuh tah a cangtii tuh hamla cet. Tedae a tuh vaengah a ngen tah long taengah tla. Te dongah a taelh uh tih vaan kah vaa loh a kueh.
A sower went out to sow his seed, and as he was sowing, some fell by the way-side, and was trodden down, and the birds of the air devoured it.
6 A tloe rhoek tah lungpang soah tla dae, laiyuem a om pawt dongah a poe neh pahoi koh.
And some fell upon stony ground, and as soon as it sprung up, it withered away, because it had no moisture.
7 A tloe rhoek tah hling puem ah tla tih, a rhoeng vaengah hling loh a thing.
And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it.
8 A tloe te lai then dongah tla tih, a poe vaengah a vuei yakhat lam khaw thoeng,” a ti. Te phoeiah te, “Yaak nah hna aka khueh loh ya saeh,” a ti nah tih a doek.
But some fell on good ground, and sprang up and yielded fruit an hundred-fold. And as He said these things He cried out, "He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."
9 Te dongah nuettahnah loh metla a om te a hnukbang rhoek loh amah a dawt uh.
And his disciples asked Him, what might be the meaning of this parable.
10 Te dongah, “Pathen ram kah olhuep he ming hamla nangmih m'paek coeng. Te phoeiah a hmuh uh vaengah a hmat uh pawt ham, a yaak uh dae a hmuhming uh pawt ham ni nuettahnah neh ka hlihloeh sak.
And He said, To you it is granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but I speak to others in parables, that in seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.
11 Nuettahnah tah he tlam ni a om. Cangtii tah Pathen kah olka ni.
Now this is the meaning of the parable, The seed is the word of God:
12 A yaak uh vaengah amih a khang ham te tangnah boel saeh tila, rhaithae te ha pawk tih a thinko kah olka a rhawt pah rhoek tah, long taengkah rhoek la om uh.
and those by the way-side, are such as hear indeed; but then the devil cometh and taketh away the word from their hearts, least they should believe and be saved.
13 Lungpang sokah rhoek te tah olka te a yaak uh vaengah omngaihnah neh a doeuh. Tedae te rhoek te a yung om pawh. Amih loh a tue kolkalh ham a tangnah uh tih noemcainah tue vaengah tah nong uh.
And those on stony-ground are such as when they hear, receive the word with joy; but have no root, and so believe only for a while, and in the time of trial fall away.
14 Hling puem kah aka tla rhoek, amih khaw aka ya tangtae rhoek ni. Tedae a pongpa vaengah mawntangnah, khuehtawn neh khosaknah omthenbawn loh a thing tih tak pawh.
And that which fell among thorns, are those who when they have heard the word go away and are choked with the cares and riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
15 Lai then dongkah rhoek, amih rhoek tah thinko then neh a then la aka om rhoek ni. Te dongah ol a yaak uh te a dueh uh tih uehnah neh thaihtak uh.
But that on the good ground, are those who having heard the word, retain it in a good and honest heart, and bring forth fruit with patience.
16 Hmaiim a tok te hnopai neh aka dah, thingkong hmuiah aka det he a om moenih. Tedae aka kun rhoek te vangnah hmuh sak ham hmaitung soah ni a khueh.
No man when he hath lighted a candle covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a couch; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they who come in may see the light.
17 A huephael la aka om te mingpha la a om mueh moenih. A huep te khaw mingpha mueh pawt tih mingpha la a pawk mueh moenih.
(For there is nothing secret, that shall not be made manifest: nor any thing concealed, which shall not be made known and come to light.)
18 Te dongah metla na yaak uh khaw hmuminguh. Aka khueh te tah a a taengla a paek ni. Tedae aka khueh pawt te tah a taengah a khueh la a ngai te khaw a loh pah ni,” a ti nah.
Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever improveth what he hath, to him shall more be given; and whosoever hath not, even what he seemeth to have shall be taken from him.
19 Jesuh te a manu neh a mana rhoek loh a paan. Tedae hlangping dongah anih te hum uh thai pawh.
Now his mother and his brethren came to Him, and could not come at Him for the croud:
20 Te dongah amah te, “Na nu neh na mana rhoek loh nang hmuh ham la a ngaih uh tih poeng ah pai uh,” tila a puen pah.
and it was told Him, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without desiring to see thee.
21 Tedae Jesuh loh amih te a doo tih, “Pathen kah olka a yaak tih aka saii rhoek tah ka manu neh ka manuca la om uh,” a ti nah.
And He answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these that hear the word of God and do it.
22 Hnin at vaengah Jesuh tah a hnukbang neh lawng khuila kun. Te phoeiah amih te, “Tuili kah rhalvangan la kat uh sih,” a ti nah tih kat uh.
And it came to pass on one of the days that He went into a ship, Himself and his disciples, and He said to them, Let us go over to the other side of the lake.
23 A hlaikan uh vaengah Jesuh tah vik ip. Te vaengah hlipuei khohli loh tuili la ha pawk tih dalh a muelh coeng dongah khopo uh.
And they launched forth: but as they were failing, He fell asleep: and a storm of wind came down upon the lake, and they were filled with water, and were in great danger.
24 Te dongah Jesuh te a paan uh tih a haeng uh. Te phoeiah, “Boeipa, Boeipa, m'poci uh coeng he,” a ti nauh. Tedae a haeng vaengah khohli neh tui dongkah tuiphu te khaw a toel hatah khohli khaw paa tih suepduem la koep om.
And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, Master, master, we are perishing. Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and the raging of the water, and they ceased, and there was a calm.
25 Te phoeiah amih te, “Nangmih kah tangnah te ta?” a ti nah. Tedae a rhih uh tih a ngai a hmang uh dongah amamih te, “Unim he, khohli neh tui khaw a voek tih a ngai pah he,” a ti uh.
And He said unto them, Where is your faith? But they were struck with awe and amazement, and said one to another, who is this? for He commandeth even the winds and the sea, and they obey Him.
26 Te phoeiah Galilee imdan ah aka om Gerasenes kho te a pha uh.
And they sailed to the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.
27 Lan so a pha vaengah khopuei lamkah rhaithae aka khueh hlang pakhat loh a doe. Kum te yet ah himbai bai voel pawh, im ah pawt tih phuel ah naeh.
And when He was landed, there met Him a man out of the city, who had been possessed by demons a long while, and wore no clothes, and abode in no dwelling but the tombs.
28 Jesuh te a hmuh vaengah pang tih a bakop thil. Te phoeiah ol ue la, “Kai taeng neh nang taengah balae aka om?, Khohni Pathen capa Jesuh aw. Kai nan phaep pawt ham ni nang kan hloep,” a ti nah.
But when he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down to Him, and said with a loud voice, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I beseech thee, do not torment me.
29 Te dongah hlang khui lamkah a coe hamla rhalawt mueihla te a toel. Te vaengah anih a paco te a tue khaw yet coeng. Thirhui neh a pael tih hloong nen khaw a khoh uh coeng. Tedae rhaithae loh khosoek la a vai vaengah tah hloong te khaw a dueng.
(For He commanded the impure spirit to come out of the man; which had oftentimes seized him so violently, that tho' he was bound with chains and fetters, yet he broke the bands asunder, and was driven by the demon into those lonely places.)
30 Te phoeiah anih te Jesuh loh, “Na ming ulae? tila a dawt. Anih te rhaithae a yet loh a kun thil dongah, “caempuei caempa,” a ti nah.
And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? and he said, Legion: because many demons were entred into him.
31 Te phoeiah amih te tangrhom dung khuiah cungpung saeh tila olpaek pawt ham Jesuh te a hloep uh. (Abyssos g12)
And they besought Him that He would not command them to go into the abyss: (Abyssos g12)
32 Te vaengah tlang ah aka luem ok hui te muep tapkhoeh om. Te dongah amih te ok khuila kun sak ham a bih uh tih a kun sak.
but as there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain, they intreated Him that He would suffer them to enter into them, and He permitted them.
33 Te daengah rhaithae rhoek tah hlang lamloh cet uh tih ok khuila kun uh. Tedae ok hui tah laengpoeng ah tuili khuila cu tih buek uh.
So the demons went out of the man and entred into the swine: and the herd ran violently down the hill into the lake and were drowned.
34 Aka thoeng hno te ok vuelh rhoek loh a hmuh uh vaengah rhaelrham uh tih khopuei neh lohma lam khaw puen uh.
And when those that looked after them saw what was done they fled; and went and told it in city and country:
35 Te dongah aka om hno te sawt hamla cet uh tih Jesuh te a paan uh. Te vaengah a khui lamkah rhaithae rhoek loh a nong tak hlang khaw ana yol uh tih Jesuh kho kungah samthing la a ngol te a hmuh uh hatah a rhih uh.
and the people went out to see what was done, and came to Jesus; and found the man, from whom the demons were gone out, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind:
36 Te dongah rhaithae aka kaem loh a khang te aka hmuh rhoek loh amih taengah patoeng puen uh.
and they were afraid, for those that saw it told them how the demoniac was healed.
37 Tedae rhihnah loh mat a nan uh dongah Gerasenes pingpang kah rhaengpuei boeih loh Jesuh te amih taeng lamkah nong sak ham la a hloep uh. Jesuh khaw lawng khuila kun tih mael.
And all the people of the country round about the Gadarenes desired Him to depart from them; for they were seized with great fear: and He went into the ship and returned.
38 A khui lamkah rhaithae loh a nong tak hlang long khaw Jesuh neh amah taengah om hamla a bih.
Now the man from whom the demons were gone out, prayed Him to let him be with Him: but Jesus sent him away,
39 Tedae anih te a tueih tih, “Namah im la bal lamtah, Pathen loh nang ham a saii te thui pah,” a ti nah. Te dongah kho tom la cet tih Jesuh loh anih ham a saii te a hoe.
saying, Return home, and relate what God hath done for thee. So he went away publishing through the whole city what great things Jesus had done to him.
40 Jesuh aka lamso la boeih a om uh dongah a mael vaengah anih te hlangping loh a doe.
And when Jesus returned, a great multitude of people received Him; for they were all waiting for Him.
41 Te vaengah Jairus aka ming nah hlang pakhat te pakcak ha pawk. Anih tah tunim kah boei la om dae, Jesuh kho taengah bakop tih a im ah pah sak ham a cael.
And behold there came a man whose name was Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue, and he fell at the feet of Jesus, and intreated Him to come into his house:
42 A canu khueh duen, kum hlainit tluk te duek. Tedae a caeh vaegah Jesuh te hlangping loh a thing.
for he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying. (But as He was going, the people crouded Him:
43 Te phoeiah kum hlainit ah thii buk aka khueh huta om. Anih loh a khosaknah te siboei taengah boeih a hnonah coeng dae coeng thai pawt tih hoeih pawh.
and a woman who had been in a flux twelve years, and had spent her whole livelyhood upon physicians,
44 A hnuk lamloh a paan tih a himbai dongkah salaw te a taek pah. Te dongah a thii buk te dup a ngol pah.
but could not be healed by any, came close behind Him and touched the hem of his garment, and immediately her flux was stopt.
45 Tedae Jesuh loh, “Ulae kai aka taek te,” a ti nah. Boeih basa uh tih Peter loh, “Boeipa, hlangping loh nang te ng'et tih n'nen te ta,” a ti nah.
And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied it, Peter, and those that were with him, said, Sir, the multitudes throng and press thee, and dost thou ask, Who was it that touched me?
46 Te vaengah Jesuh loh, “Khat khat loh kai n'taek, kai lamkah ka thaomnah a caeh te ka ming,” a ti nah.
And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive a peculiar virtue is gone out of me.
47 A phah tloel te huta loh a hmuh vaengah a birhih doela a paan tih a taengah a bakuep pah. Anih a taek vaengah a paelnaehnah te khaw, metla a hoeih pahoi te khaw pilnam boeih taengah puen.
And when the woman saw that she was not concealed, she came trembling, and fell down to Him, and declared before all the people, for what reason she had touched Him, and how she was healed immediately.
48 Te dongah anih te, “Ka canu, na tangnah loh namah ng'khang coeng, ngaimong la cet laeh,” a ti nah.
And He said unto her, Daughter, be comforted, thy faith has healed thee, go in peace.)
49 A thui pueng ah tamtaeng taeng lamkah hlang pakhat ha pawk tih, “Na canu duek coeng, saya te toehoeih boeh,” a ti nah.
While He was yet speaking, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's, and said to Him, Thy daughter is dead, trouble not the Master.
50 Jesuh loh a yaak vaengah, “Rhih boeh, dawk tangnah lamtah daem bitni,” a ti nah.
But Jesus hearing it, answered saying, Fear not, only believe, and she shall be recovered.
51 A pha vaengah Peter, Johan neh James, camoe kah manu a napa pawt atah pakhat khaw amah taengah im khuila kun sak pawh.
And when He came to the house, He suffered none to go in but Peter, and James, and John, and the father and mother of the child.
52 Te vaengah boeih rhap uh tih camoe te a rhaengsae uh. Tedae Jesuh loh, “Rhap uh boeh, a duek moenih, aka ip ni he,” a ti nah.
And they were all weeping and bewailing her: but He said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.
53 Tedae a duek te a ming uh dongah Jesuh te a nueih thiluh.
And they laughed at Him, knowing that she was dead.
54 Tedae Jesuh loh a kut a tuuk pah phoeiah a khue tih, “Camoe thoo laeh,” a ti nah.
But He turned them all out, and taking hold of her hand, called to her, saying, Child, arise.
55 Te dongah a mueihla ha mael tih pahoi thoo. Te phoeiah anih te a caak a paek ham a uen.
And her spirit returned, and immediately she stood up: and He ordered something to be given her to eat.
56 Te vaengah a manu napa tah limlum rhoi. Tedae aka om hno te thui pawt ham amih te a uen.
And her parents were exceedingly astonished: but He charged them to tell no one what was done.
