< Johan 10 >

1 “Nangmih taengah rhep rhep kan thui, thohka lamloh tu vongup khuila kun pawt tih a hloeh la aka yoeng tah hlanghuen neh dingca ni.
“Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever does not enter the sheepfold by the gate, but climbs in some other way, is a thief and a robber.
2 Tedae tu kah tudawn la aka om tah thohka longah kun.
But the one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 Anih te imtawt loh thohka a ong pah tih tu loh a ol te a yaak. Amah kah tu te khaw a ming neh a khue tih a mawt.
The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen for his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4 Amah kah te boeih a hlah vaengah a hmaiah cet tih tu rhoek loh a ol te a hmat uh dongah anih te a vai uh.
When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.
5 Tedae hlanglang tah vai uh loengloeng pawt vetih hlanglang kah ol te a hmat uh pawt dongah anih taeng lamloh rhaelrham uh ni,” a ti nah.
But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will flee from him because they do not recognize his voice.”
6 Hekah thuidoeknah he amih taengah Jesuh loh a thui dae amih taengah a thui te metla a om khaw tekah rhoek loh ming uh pawh.
Jesus spoke to them using this illustration, but they did not understand what He was telling them.
So He said to them again, “Truly, truly, I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.
8 Kai hmaikah aka pawk boeih tah hlanghuen neh dingca rhoek ni. Tedae tu loh amih ol te a hnatun moenih.
All who came before Me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.
9 Kai tah thohka la ka om, u khaw kai lamloh a kun atah daem vetih a voei a bal ah rhamtlim a hmuh ni.
I am the gate. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture.
10 Hlanghuen tah huen ham, ngawn ham neh poci sak ham pawt atah ha pawk moenih. Kai tah hingnah a khueh uh phoeiah a puehsoi dang sak ham ka pawk.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness.
11 Kai tah tudawn then la ka om. Tudawn then loh a hinglu te tu rhoek ham a hmoel.
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.
12 Kutloh tah tudawn lam khaw om pawh. A tu khaw amah kah om pawh. Uithang ha pawk te a hmuh vaengah tu a hno tih a rhaelrham tak dongah uithang loh a poelyoe tih a thaek.
The hired hand is not the shepherd, and the sheep are not his own. When he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf pounces on them and scatters the flock.
13 Kutloh la a om dongah tu ham anih a ngaihuet pawh.
The man runs away because he is a hired servant and is unconcerned for the sheep.
14 Kai tah tudawn then la ka om dongah kamah kah rhoek te ka ming tih kamah kah rhoek loh kai m'ming uh.
I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me,
just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father. And I lay down My life for the sheep.
16 Tedae hekah vongup ah aka om mueh tu a tloe rhoek te ka khueh pueng. Amih khaw ka khue ham a kuek.
I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them in as well, and they will listen to My voice. Then there will be one flock and one shepherd.
17 Kai loh ka hinglu te koep dang ham ka voeih dongah pa loh kai n'lungnah.
The reason the Father loves Me is that I lay down My life in order to take it up again.
18 Kai lamkah hingnah te a rhawt uh thai moenih. Hekah olpaek he a pa taeng lamkah ka dang,” koep a ti nah.
No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from My Father.”
19 Hekah olka kongah Judah rhoek khuiah paekboenah koep om.
Again there was division among the Jews because of Jesus’ message.
20 Te dongah amih khuikah a kumngai loh, “Rhaithae a kaem tih ang coeng, balae tih anih ol na hnatun uh?” a ti uh.
Many of them said, “He is demon-possessed and insane. Why would you listen to Him?”
21 A tloe rhoek loh, “He tah rhaithae aka kaem kah olka la om mahpawh. Rhaithae loh mikdael kah mik tueng sak thai pawt maco?” a ti uh.
But others replied, “These are not the words of a man possessed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”
At that time the Feast of Dedication took place in Jerusalem. It was winter,
23 Te vaengah Jesuh tah Bawkim kah Solomon impup ah pongpa.
and Jesus was walking in the temple courts in Solomon’s Colonnade.
So the Jews gathered around Him and demanded, “How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
A pa ming neh ka bibi saii long te kai kawng a phong.
“I already told you,” Jesus replied, “but you did not believe. The works I do in My Father’s name testify on My behalf.
But because you are not My sheep, you refuse to believe.
27 Ka tu rhoek tah ka ol te a yaak uh tih kai long khaw amih te ka ming dongah kai m'vai uh.
My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.
28 Kai loh amih taengah dungyan hingnah ka paek tih kumhal duela poci uh loengloeng mahpawh. Te dongah amih te khat khat long khaw kai kut lamloh poelyoe mahpawh. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand.
My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.
30 Kai neh pa tah pakhat ni,” a ti nah.
I and the Father are one.”
31 Judah rhoek loh amah te dae ham lungto koep a muk uh.
At this, the Jews again picked up stones to stone Him.
Te khuiah mebang khoboe nen nim kai nan dae uh eh,” a ti nah.
But Jesus responded, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone Me?”
33 Judah rhoek loh amah te, “Khoboe then dongah pawt tih soehsalnah neh nang hlang la aka om loh Pathen la namah te na sa uh dongah nang te kan dae uh,” a ti nauh.
“We are not stoning You for any good work,” said the Jews, “but for blasphemy, because You, who are a man, declare Yourself to be God.”
A pa ming neh ka bibi saii long te kai kawng a phong.
Jesus replied, “Is it not written in your Law: ‘I have said you are gods’?
35 Pathen kah olka aka dang te Pathen rhoek la a khue atah cacim te a phae thai moenih.
If he called them gods to whom the word of God came—and the Scripture cannot be broken—
36 Pa loh a cil tih diklai la a tueih loh, ' Kai Pathen capa ni,' ka ti dongah a salpham tila na thui uh a?
then what about the One whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world? How then can you accuse Me of blasphemy for stating that I am the Son of God?
37 A pa kah bibi te ka saii pawt atah kai n'tangnah uh boeh.
If I am not doing the works of My Father, then do not believe Me.
38 Tedae ka saii atah kai nan tangnah uh pawt cakhaw kai ah a pa om tih kai khaw a pa dongah ka om tila na ming uh tih phat om ham bibi te tangnah uh,” a,” a ti nah.
But if I am doing them, even though you do not believe Me, believe the works themselves, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I am in the Father.”
39 Te dongah amah te tuuk ham koep a mae uh dae amih kut lamkah loh vik cet.
At this, they tried again to seize Him, but He escaped their grasp.
Then Jesus went back across the Jordan to the place where John had first been baptizing, and He stayed there.
41 Te vaengah a taengla muep a paan uh tih, “Johan loh miknoek saii ngawn pawt dae Johan loh anih kawng a thui boeih te thuem,” a ti uh.
Many came to Him and said, “Although John never performed a sign, everything he said about this man was true.”
42 Te dongah tekah rhoek loh amah te muep a tangnah uh.
And many in that place believed in Jesus.
