< Joba 20 >

1 Te phoeiah Naamathi Zophar loh a doo tih,
Then Zophar the Naamathite answered,
2 “Te dongah ka pomnah kai n'thuung tih kamah khuiah ka tawn uh coeng dongah ni.
“Therefore my thoughts answer me, even by reason of my haste that is in me.
3 Ka thuituennah he mingthae la ka yaak dongah ka yakmingnah dongah mueihla loh kai n'doo.
I have heard the reproof which puts me to shame. The spirit of my understanding answers me.
4 Suen lamloh diklai dongah hlang a khueh parhi te na ming a?
Do not you know this from old time, since man was placed on earth,
5 Halang kah omngaih laa tah yoei tih lailak kah kohoenah khaw mikhaptok hil mai ni.
that the triumphing of the wicked is short, the joy of the godless but for a moment?
6 A thinlennah te vaan duela cet tih a lu loh khomai duela puet cakhaw,
Though his height mount up to the heavens, and his head reach to the clouds,
7 a aek bangla a yoeyah la milh vetih anih aka hmu rhoek loh, “Anih ta?” a ti uh ni.
yet he will perish forever like his own dung. Those who have seen him will say, ‘Where is he?’
8 Mang bangla a ding phoeiah tah anih te hmu uh pawh. Khoyin kah olphong bangla khum hmata.
He will fly away as a dream, and will not be found. Yes, he will be chased away like a vision of the night.
9 A mik loh a hmuh khaw rhaep mahpawh. Anih te amah hmuen ah mae voel mahpawh.
The eye which saw him will see him no more, neither will his place see him any more.
10 A ca rhoek loh tattloel rhoek te a moeithen uh tih a kut loh a thahuem te a mael uh.
His children will seek the favor of the poor. His hands will give back his wealth.
11 A rhuh tah a cacawn rhoek bangla hah uh dae a cacawn rhoek khaw amah neh laipi dongah ni a yalh eh.
His bones are full of his youth, but youth will lie down with him in the dust.
12 A ka dongah tui mai cakhaw boethae te a lai hmui ah a thuh.
“Though wickedness is sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue,
13 Te te a hnaih tih a toeng pawt dongah a ka khui la a ma-uem.
though he spare it, and will not let it go, but keep it still within his mouth,
14 A bung khuikah a buh te a khui ah minta sue la poeh ni.
yet his food in his bowels is turned. It is cobra venom within him.
15 Khuehtawn a dolh vaengah a bung khui lamloh lok vetih anih te Pathen loh a talh ni.
He has swallowed down riches, and he will vomit them up again. God will cast them out of his belly.
16 Minta sue loh a khut vetih rhulthae lai loh amah a ngawn ni.
He will suck cobra venom. The viper’s tongue will kill him.
17 Soklong, tuiva neh khorha kah khoitui neh suknaeng te hmuh mahpawh.
He will not look at the rivers, the flowing streams of honey and butter.
18 Thatloh phu te a thuung akhaw a hnothung kah thadueng bangla a dolh pawt dongah yoka pawh.
He will restore that for which he labored, and will not swallow it down. He will not rejoice according to the substance that he has gotten.
19 tattloel te a neet phoeiah amah loh a sak mueh im te a hnoo sak tih a rawth pah.
For he has oppressed and forsaken the poor. He has violently taken away a house, and he will not build it up.
20 A bungko lamkah thayoeituipan te ming pawt tih a nai nen khaw loeih pawh.
“Because he knew no quietness within him, he will not save anything of that in which he delights.
21 A caak ham caknoi om pawh. Te dongah a thennah poem hae mahpawh.
There was nothing left that he did not devour, therefore his prosperity will not endure.
22 A khuehtawn neh a hah vaengah anih te a daengdaeh vetih thakthaekung kah kut boeih te anih soah thoeng ni.
In the fullness of his sufficiency, distress will overtake him. The hand of everyone who is in misery will come on him.
23 Anih bung hah sak ham a taengah amah kah thintoek thinsa a tueih pah vetih a buhcak te anih soah a tlan sak.
When he is about to fill his belly, God will cast the fierceness of his wrath on him. It will rain on him while he is eating.
24 Thicung lungpok haica lamloh yong dae anih te rhohum lii loh a kah.
He will flee from the iron weapon. The bronze arrow will strike him through.
25 A yueh vaengah a pumpu lamloh a pawlh pah. Te vaengah a hmuet khui lamkah mueirhih te amah soah rhaek la a caeh pah ni.
He draws it out, and it comes out of his body. Yes, the glittering point comes out of his liver. Terrors are on him.
26 Hmaisuep cungkuem te khoem hamla a tung. A hmuh mueh hmai loh anih te a hlawp vetih a dap kah rhaengnaeng khaw a talh pah ni.
All darkness is laid up for his treasures. An unfanned fire will devour him. It will consume that which is left in his tent.
27 Anih kathaesainah te vaan loh a hliphen uh vetih diklai loh amah taengah a tai pah ni.
The heavens will reveal his iniquity. The earth will rise up against him.
28 A thintoeknah hnin ah tah a im kah cangpai khaw a poelyoe pah vetih a hawk pah ni.
The increase of his house will depart. They will rush away in the day of his wrath.
29 Halang hlang loh tebang khoyo te Pathen taeng lamkah a dang tih Pathen loh a ol rho la a khueh pah,” a ti.
This is the portion of a wicked man from God, the heritage appointed to him by God.”
