And as they are speaking to the people, there came to them the priests, and the magistrate of the temple, and the Sadducees—
2 Pilnam a thuituen tih duek lamloh thohkoepnah te Jesuh rhangneh a doek dongah a yakdam uh.
being grieved because of their teaching the people, and preaching in Jesus the resurrection out of the dead—
3 Te dongah amih rhoi te kut a hlah thil uh tih a vuen duela thongim ah a khueh uh. Te vaengah hlaemhmah la om coeng.
and they laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was evening already;
4 Tedae ol aka hnatun rhoek a yet ngai long tah a tangnah uh dongah hlang he hlangmi la thawng nga tluk lo uh.
and many of those hearing the word believed, and the number of the men became, as it were, five thousand.
5 A vuen a pha vaengah a boei rhoek, patong rhoek neh cadaek rhoek te Jerusalem ah tingtun uh.
And it came to pass the next day, there were gathered together of them the rulers, and elders, and scribes, to Jerusalem,

and Annas the chief priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the family of the chief priest,

and having set them in the midst, they were inquiring, “In what power, or in what name did you do this?”
8 Peter tah mueihla cim neh a bae dongah amih te, “Pilnam kah boei rhoek neh patong rhoek,
Then Peter, having been filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
9 Tattloel hlang pakhat sokah bibi then kongah tihnin ah boelh la ka om rhoi atah, ba nen lae anih a hoeih.
if we are examined today concerning the good deed to the ailing man, by whom he has been saved,
10 Nazareth Jesuh Khrih ming nen ni tila nangmih boeih neh Israel pilnam boeih loh hmat la om saeh. Anih te na tai uh dae a Pathen loh duek khui lamkah a thoh coeng. Anih rhangnen ni he hlangtlo loh nangmih hmaiah sading la a pai.
be it known to all of you, and to all the people of Israel, that in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised out of the dead, in Him has this one stood by before you whole.

This is the stone that was set at nothing by you—the builders, that became head of a corner;

and there is not salvation in any other, for there is no other name under Heaven that has been given among men, in which it is required of us to be saved.”
13 Te vaengah Peter neh Johan kah a sayalh te a hmuh uh tih caa aka ming mueh hlang neh hlangthawt ni tite a hmuhming uh. Te phoeiah amih rhoi te Jesuh taengah om rhoi ti khaw a ming uh tih a ngai hmanguh.
And beholding the openness of Peter and John, and having perceived that they are illiterate men and commoners, they were wondering—they were also taking knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus—
14 Aka hoeih tih amih rhoi taengah aka pai hlang te khaw a hmuh uh dongah oelh ham khaw om voel pawh.
and seeing the man standing with them who has been healed, they had nothing to say against [it],

and having commanded them to go away out of the Sanhedrin, they took counsel with one another,
16 Khat neh khat a nuemnai uh tih, “Hekah hlang rhoi he metlam n'saii uh eh. Amih rhoi pum dongah miknoek loh a poekhloep la tueng coeng tih Jerusalem kah khosa rhoek boeih ham khaw rhep a mingpha coeng dongah hnawt ham a coeng moenih.
saying, “What will we do to these men? Because that, indeed, a notable sign has been done through them [is] apparent to all those dwelling in Jerusalem, and we are not able to deny [it];
17 Tedae pilnam taengla yilh a caeh voel pawt ham, a ming neh hlang pakhat taengah khaw thui pawt ham mah amih he hihham uh sih,” a ti uh.
but that it may spread no further toward the people, let us strictly threaten them to no longer speak in this Name to any man.”
18 Te dongah amih rhoi te a khue uh tih Jesuh ming dongah thuituen pawt ham neh thui loengloeng pawt ham a uen uh.
And having called them, they charged them not to speak at all, nor to teach, in the Name of Jesus,
19 Tedae amih te Peter neh Johan loh a doo tih, “Pathen ol lakah nangmih ol hnatun lat ham Pathen hmaiah a thuem atah namamih loh laitloek uh nawn.
and Peter and John answering to them said, “Whether it is righteous before God to listen to you rather than to God, judge;
20 Ka hmuh neh ka yaak uh te ka thui pawt koinih a coeng moenih,” a ti nah.
for we cannot but speak what we saw and heard.”

And they having further threatened [them], let them go, finding no way how they may punish them, because of the people, because all were glorifying God for that which has been done,
22 Hoeihnah miknoek loh a thoeng thil hlang te tah a kum sawmli hlai a lo coeng dongah ni.
for above forty years of age was the man on whom had been done this sign of the healing.

And being let go, they went to their own friends, and declared whatever the chief priests and the elders said to them,
24 A yaak uh vaengah Pathen taengah ol huek a huel uh tih, “Boeikung, namah loh vaan neh diklai, tuitunli neh a khuikah boeih na saii.
and they having heard, lifted up the voice to God with one accord and said, “LORD, You [are] God, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all that [are] in them,

who, through the mouth of Your servant David, said, Why did nations rage, and peoples meditate vain things?
26 Diklai manghai rhoek neh boei rhoek tah amamih te tingtun uh tih BOEIPA neh a Khrih te a pai thil uh,” a ti.
The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the LORD and against His Christ;
27 Te dongah ni na koelh tangtae Jesuh, na taengom cim te Herod neh Pontius Pilat, namtom neh Israel pilnam loh, oltak la khopuei khuiah a tingtun thil uh.
for gathered together of a truth against Your holy child Jesus, whom You anointed, were both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with nations and peoples of Israel,
28 Na kut loh a saii tih aka thoeng ham koi boeih te na mangtaengnah loh a nuen coeng.
to do whatever Your hand and Your counsel determined before to come to pass.
29 Te dongah aw Boeipa, amih te hihhamnah he so lamtah na ol aka thui ham na sal rhoek te sayalh la boeih khueh laeh.
And now, LORD, look on their threatenings, and grant to Your servants to speak Your word with all freedom,
30 Hoeihnah ham na kut na yueng li vaengah na tueihyoeih cim Jesuh ming dongah miknoek neh khobae rhambae khaw thoeng coeng,” a ti uh.
in the stretching forth of Your hand, for healing, and signs, and wonders, to come to pass through the Name of Your holy child Jesus.”
31 A thangthui uh dongah tun a om nah hmuen khaw hinghoek uh tih Cim Mueihla neh boeih baetawt uh. Te dongah sayalh la Pathen kah ol khaw a thui uh.
And they having prayed, the place was shaken in which they were gathered together, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and were speaking the word of God with freedom,

and of the multitude of those who believed, the heart and the soul were one, and not one was saying that anything of the things he had was his own, but all things were in common to them.
33 Boeipa Jesuh thohkoepnah te caeltueih rhoek loh a laipai neh thaomnah a len la a thuung uh vaengah amih boeih soah khaw lungvatnah muep om.
And with great power the apostles were giving the testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, great grace was also on them all,

for there was not anyone among them who lacked, for as many as were possessors of fields, or houses, selling [them], were bringing the prices of the thing sold,

and were laying them at the feet of the apostles, and distribution was being made to each according as anyone had need.

And Joses, who was surnamed by the apostles Barnabas—which is, having been interpreted, Son of Comfort—a Levite, of Cyprus by birth,

a field being his, having sold [it], brought the money and laid [it] at the feet of the apostles.
