1 Te vaengkah Barnabas neh Niger la a khue Simeon, Kurena hoel Lukia, khoboei Herod kah thawnpuei Manaen neh Saul te Antiok kah aka poe hlangboel taengah tonghma neh saya la om uh.
And there were certain in Antioch, in the assembly there, prophets and teachers: both Barnabas, and Simeon who is called Niger, and Lucius the Cyrenian, Manaen also—Herod the tetrarch’s foster-brother—and Saul;
2 Amih khaw Boeipa taengkah thothueng neh a yaeh uh vaengah Mueihla Cim loh, “Barnabas neh Sual tah kai ham hoep uh laeh. Amih rhoi te kamah bibi ham ni ka khue,” a ti nah.
and in their ministering to the LORD and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Separate to Me both Barnabas and Saul to the work to which I have called them,”
3 Te dongah caak yaeh neh aka thangthui rhoek loh amih rhoi te kut a tloeng thil uh tih a tueih uh.
then having fasted, and having prayed, and having laid the hands on them, they sent [them] away.
4 Te phoeiah Mueihla Cim kah a tueih van bangla amih rhoi tah Seleukia la cet rhoi. Te lamloh Kupros la kat uh.
These, indeed, then, having been sent forth by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus,
5 Salami kah a om vaengah khaw Judah rhoek kah tunim ah Pathen kah olka te a doek rhoi tih Johan te tueihyoeih la a khueh rhoi.
and having come to Salamis, they declared the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews, and they also had John [as] a servant;
6 Paphos duela tuisanglak te boeih a hil rhoi vaengah laithae tonghma kholo hlangcueih hlang pakhat te a hmuh rhoi. Anih te Judah ming ah Bar-Jesuh la om.
and having gone through the island to Paphos, they found a certain magus, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name [is] Bar-Jesus;
7 Anih tah tongpa lungming, Sergius khoboei Paul taengah om. Te long tah Pathen kah olka te yaak ham a toem dongah Barnabas neh Saul te a khue.
who was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man; this one having called for Barnabas and Saul, desired to hear the word of God,
8 Tedae amih rhoi te kholo hlangcueih Elymas loh a oelh. Amah ming loh a thuingaih tangloeng dongah khoboei pa te tangnah dong lamloh paimaelh ham a mae.
and there withstood them Elymas the magus—for so is his name interpreted—seeking to pervert the proconsul from the faith.
9 Tedae Saul Anih tah Paul ni tah Mueihla Cim neh a baetawt dongah anih te a hmaitang tih,
And Saul—who also [is] Paul—having been filled with the Holy Spirit, and having looked steadfastly on him,
10 “Tuengkhuepnah cungkuem, omthae cungkuem neh aka baetawt tih duengnah boeih kah a rhal rhaithae capa aw Boeipa kah longpuei dueng na maelh te toeng boeh ne.
said, “O full of all guile, and all recklessness, son of a devil, enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the right ways of the LORD?
11 Tedae Boeipa kut loh nang n'nan thil coeng he. Mikdaella na om vetih khoning pakhat dongah khomik na hmu mahpawh,” a ti nah. Te vaengah khomai neh yinnah loh anih te pahoi a tlak thil. Te dongah tinghil tih mawtkung a toem.
And now, behold, a hand of the LORD [is] on you, and you will be blind, not seeing the sun for a season”; and instantly there fell on him a mist and darkness, and he, going around, was seeking some to lead [him] by the hand;
12 Hno aka om te khoboei pa loh a hmuh vaengah Boeipa kah thuituennah dongah let tih a tangnah.
then the proconsul having seen what has come to pass, believed, being astonished at the teaching of the LORD.
13 Te phoeiah Paul taengkah rhoek tah Paphos lamloh nong uh tih Pamphylia kah Perga la pawk uh. Tedae Johan tah amih taeng lamloh mael tih Jerusalem la bal.
And those around Paul having set sail from Paphos, came to Perga of Pamphylia, and John having departed from them, turned back to Jerusalem,
14 Amih ngawn tah Perga lamloh cet uh tih Pisidia kah Antiok la pawk uh. Tedae Sabbath hnin ah tah tunim la kun uh tih ngol uh.
and they having gone through from Perga, came to Antioch of Pisidia, and having gone into the synagogue on the day of the Sabbaths, they sat down,
15 Olkhueng neh tonghma rhoek kah cabu te taenah a boeih phoeiah amih te tamtaeng loh a tah tih, “Ka manuca neh ka hlang rhoek, pilnam ham thaphonah olka te nangmih taengah pakhat khaw a om atah thui uh,” a ti nah.
and after the reading of the Law and of the Prophets, the chief men of the synagogue sent to them, saying, “Men, brothers, if there be a word in you of exhortation to the people—say on.”
16 Te dongah Paul loh pai tih kut a cavoih phoeiah, “Israel hlang rhoek neh Pathen aka rhih rhoek, hnatun uh lah.
And Paul having risen, and having beckoned with the hand, said, “Men, Israelites, and those fearing God, listen:
17 Israel pilnam kah Pathen loh a pa rhoek he ana tuek dongah Egypt kho ah yinlai la aka om pataeng pilnam la a pomsang. Te dongah ni a khui lamkah amih te a ban neh a sang la a doek.
the God of this people Israel chose our fathers, and He exalted the people in their sojourning in the land of Egypt, and He brought them out of it with a high arm;
18 Te phoeiah amih te kum likip tluk khosoek ah a parhaeng.
and about a period of forty years He endured their conduct in the wilderness,
19 Kanaan kho kah namtu parhih te a hlak tih a khohmuen neh kum yali sawmnga khuiah m'phaeng.
and having destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, He divided their land to them by lot.
20 Te phoeiah laitloekkung rhoek neh tonghma Samuel taeng duela a paek.
And after these things, about four hundred and fifty years, He gave judges—until Samuel the prophet;
21 Manghai a hoe uh vaengah Benjamin koca hlang pakhat, Kish capa Saul te amih ham kum sawmli khuiah Pathen loh a paek.
and thereafter they asked for a king, and God gave to them Saul, son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years;
22 Anih a khoe phoeiah a manghai la David te a thoh pah. Anih te, “Ka ko aka tong hlang, Jesse capa David he ka hmuh. Ka kongaih he anih loh boeih a saii bitni,” a ti tih a phong.
and having removed him, He raised up to them David for king, to whom also having testified, He said, I found David, the [son] of Jesse, a man according to My heart, who will do all My will.
23 A olkhueh bangla anih kah tiingan te ni Pathen loh Israel ham khangkung Jesuh la a poe sak.
Of this one’s seed, God, according to promise, raised to Israel a Savior—Jesus,
24 A kunnah hmai ah Johan kah a rhan he Israel pilnam boeih ham yutnah baptisma la om.
John having first preached, before His coming, an immersion of conversion to all the people of Israel;
25 Johan loh hma a khah vaengah, 'Kai ulae nan sui uh. Kai he moenih, Tedae kai hnukah ha pawk coeng ke. A kho dongkah khokhom hlam ham pataeng ka koih moenih,” a ti.
and as John was fulfilling the course, he said, Whom do you suppose I am? I am not [He], but behold, He comes after me, of whom I am not worthy to loose the sandal of [His] feet.
26 Ka manuca neh ka hlang, Abraham imkhui koca rhoek neh nangmih khuiah Pathen aka rhih rhoek aw, mamih khangnah ol he han tueih coeng.
Men, brothers, sons of the race of Abraham, and those among you fearing God, to you was the word of this salvation sent,
27 Jerusalem kah khosa rhoek neh a boei rhoek tah mangvawt uh. Te dongah Sabbath takuem kah a tae uh tonghma ol neh anih lai a tloek uh te soep coeng.
for those dwelling in Jerusalem, and their chiefs, having not known this One, also the voices of the Prophets, which are being read every Sabbath—having judged [Him]—fulfilled,
28 Dueknah ham a paelnaehnah khaw hmu pawt dae anih te ngawn hamla Pilat taengah a bih uh.
and having found no cause of death, they asked of Pilate that He should be slain,
29 Anih kawng te boeih a daek soep uh phoeiah, thing dong lamloh a suh uh tih phuel la a khueh uh.
and when they fulfilled all the things written about Him, having taken [Him] down from the tree, they laid Him in a tomb;
30 Tedae anih te Pathen loh duek khui lamkah a thoh.
and God raised Him out of the dead,
31 Anih te Galilee lamkah Jerusalem la aka luei rhoek taengah khohnin te yet khuiah a phoe pah coeng. Amih tah pilnam taengah boeipa kah laipai la om uh coeng.
and He was seen for many days of those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people.
32 A pa rhoek taengah aka thoeng olkhueh te ni nangmih taengah ka phong uh van.
And we proclaim good news to you—that the promise made to the fathers,
33 Te te Pathen loh Jesuh a thoh sak dongah, tingtoeng lung dongkah a daek pabae vanbangla; Nang tah ka ca la na om. Tihnin ah kai loh nang kan sak coeng,” a ti te a ca rhoek mamih taengah soep coeng.
God has completed this in full to us their children, having raised up Jesus, as also in the second Psalm it has been written: You are My Son—I have begotten You today.
34 Anih te duek lamkah loh a thoh dongah pocinah la bal ham cai voel pawh. Te dongah, “Uepom David kah olcim te nangmih taengah kam paek ni, “tila a thui pah.
And that He raised Him up out of the dead, to no longer return to corruption, He has said this: I will give to You the holy [blessings] of David [that are] faithful;
35 Hmuen tloe ah khaw, “Na hlangcim te pocinah tong sak ham na paek moenih,” a ti tangloeng.
for what reason He also says in another [place]: You will not give Your Holy One to see corruption;
36 Amah tuetang vaengah David loh Pathen kah mangtaengnah te a bi. A ih vaengah a napa rhoek taengla khoem uh tih pocinah a tong.
for David, indeed, having served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, and was added to his fathers, and saw corruption,
37 Tedae Pathen loh a thoh te tah pocinah tong pawh.
but He whom God raised up, did not see corruption.
38 Ka hlang rhoek neh ka manuca rhoek, nangmih taengah khaw mingpha la om saeh. Anih rhang neh nangmih taengah tholh khodawkngainah khaw, Moses kah olkhueng dongah na tang uh thai pawt boeih te a doek tangloeng coeng.
Let it therefore be known to you, men, brothers, that the forgiveness of sins is declared to you through this One,
39 Aka tangnah rhoek tah anih rhangneh boeih tang uh coeng.
and from all things in the Law of Moses from which you were not able to be declared righteous, everyone who is believing in this One is declared righteous;
40 Te dongah tonghma rhoek kah a thui loh n'thoeng thil pawt ham mah ngaithuen uh.
see, therefore, it may not come on you that has been spoken in the Prophets:
41 Pahoeh palaeh rhoek aw, ming uh lamtah, nangmih tue vaengah ka saii bibi ham ngaihmang khobing neh milh uh nawn. khat khat loh nangmih taengah hang hoe lalah khaw tekah bibi te na tangnah uh tlaih moenih,” a ti nah.
See, you despisers, and wonder, and perish, because I work a work in your days, a work in which you may not believe, though anyone may declare [it] to you.”
42 A bal uh vaengah tahae kah olka he a laklo kah Sabbath vaengah amih taengah thui sak ham caeltueih rhoek te a cael uh.
And having gone forth out of the synagogue of the Jews, the nations were calling on [them] that on the next Sabbath these sayings may be spoken to them,
43 Tunim kah aka phih uh Judah rhoek neh poehlip aka bawk rhoek loh Paul neh Barnabas te muep a vai uh. Te dongah amih te a uen tih Pathen kah lungvatnah khuiah rhaeh rhong ham a koilaw uh.
and the synagogue having been dismissed, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, were persuading them to remain in the grace of God.
44 Sabbath a pha bal vaengah vang pum banghui loh Boeipa olka hnatun ham tingtun uh.
And on the coming Sabbath, almost all the city was gathered together to hear the word of God,
45 Hlangping te Judah rhoek loh a hmuh uh vaengah kohlopnah neh muep hah uh. Te dongah Paul kah a thui te a tloelh uh tih a soehsal uh.
and the Jews having seen the multitudes, were filled with zeal, and contradicted the things spoken by Paul—contradicting and slandering.
And speaking boldly, Paul and Barnabas said, “It was necessary that the word of God be first spoken to you, and seeing you thrust it away, and do not judge yourselves worthy of the continuous life, behold, we turn to the nations; (aiōnios g166)
47 Te dongah Boeipa loh, 'Namtom rhoek taengah vangnah neh diklai khobawt due khangnah la na om ham nang kan khueh,’ tila mamih ng'uen bal coeng,” a ti rhoi.
for so the LORD has commanded us: I have set you for a light of nations—for your being for salvation to the end of the earth.”
48 Namtom rhoek loh a yaak uh vaengah omngaih uh tih Boeipa olka te a thangpom uh. Te dongah aka tangnah rhoek boeih tah dungyan hingnah ham mop la om uh. (aiōnios g166)
And the nations hearing were glad, and were glorifying the word of the LORD, and believed—as many as were appointed to continuous life; (aiōnios g166)
49 Te dongah Boeipa kah olka loh paeng tom la thang.
and the word of the LORD was spread abroad through all the region.
50 Tedae ak bawk nu hlangcong rhoek neh khopuei kah hlang lamhma rhoek te Judah rhoek loh a vueh uh tih Paul neh Barnabas te hnaemtaeknah neh a puengpuelh uh. Te phoeiah amih rhoi te a vaang khui lamloh a haek uh.
And the Jews stirred up the devout and honorable women, and the first men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and put them out from their borders;
51 Te dongah amih te a kho dongkah tangdik a khoek thil tih Ikonium la pawk rhoi.
and having shaken off the dust of their feet against them, they came to Iconium,
52 Hnukbang rhoek khaw omngaihnah, Mueihla Cim neh baetawt uh.
and the disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.
