1 Te phoeiah Solomon loh BOEIPA ming ham im sak ham neh a ram ham im sak hamla cai.
And Solomon ordered to build a house for the name of the Lord, and a house for his royal residence.
2 Solomon loh boe a soep vaengah hnophuei hlang thawng sawmrhih, tlang ah lungto aka dae hlang thawng sawmrhet, amih aka mawt te thawng thum neh ya rhuk lo.
And Solomon numbered seventy thousand men to bear burdens, and eighty thousand stonecutters in the mountain, and as superintendents over them three thousand and six hundred.
3 Te phoeiah Solomon loh Tyre manghai Huram taengah ol a tah tih, “A pa David ham na saii dongah amah ham im a sak vaengah a taengla lamphai na thak pah vanbangla a khuiah kho a sak coeng.
And Solomon sent to Churam the king of Tyre, saying, As thou hast dealt with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him a house to dwell therein, [even so deal with me].
4 Kai loh im ka sak he ka Pathen BOEIPA ming ham ni. Te te ciim ham neh a mikhmuh ah botui bo-ul phum ham om. He tah kaimih kah Pathen BOEIPA loh Israel soah kumhal hil khoning vaengkah la a khueh.
Behold, I am building a house to the name of the Lord my God, to sanctify it to him, to burn before him incense of spices, and for the continual rows of show-bread, and for the burnt-offerings at morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new-moons, and on the stated festivals of the Lord our God: this being for ever obligatory on Israel.
5 Kaimih kah Pathen tah pathen boeih lakah a len dongah ni im te khaw a len la ka sak.
And the house which I am building is great; for greater is our God than all the gods.
6 Tedae a im sak pah ham te u long thadueng a capit eh? Vaan neh vaan phoeikah vaan long pataeng anih te a cangbam uh thai moenih. A mikhmuh ah ka phum uh ham bueng phoeiah tah a im ka sak ham khaw kai he unim?
But who possesseth the power to build him a house? for the heavens and the heavens of heavens cannot contain him: and who am I then, that I should build him a house, save only to burn incense before him?
7 Te dongah sui neh, cak neh, rhohum neh, thi neh, daidi neh, aithii neh, a thim neh saii ham te hlang cueih kai taengah han tueih mai. Thingthuk thuk ham aka ming khaw kamah taengkah hlangcueih rhoek neh Judah ah khaw Jerusalem ah khaw om uh saeh. Te rhoek te a pa David loh a sikim sak coeng.
And now send me a skilful man to work in gold, and in silver and in copper, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that understandeth how to engrave with the skilful men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem whom David my father hath provided.
8 Lebanon lamkah lamphai hmaical thing neh algum te kai hamla ham pat mai. Lebanon thing vung hamla aka ming tah namah kah sal rhoek ni tila ka ming dongah ni. Tedae ka sal rhoek he na sal rhoek taengah om ngawn ne.
Send me also cedar-trees, fir-trees, and sandal-wood, from the Lebanon; for I know well that thy servants have the skill to cut the trees of Lebanon: and, behold, my servants shall be with thy servants,
9 Im te a len neh khobaerhambae la ka sak ham dongah thing khaw kamah taengah a cung la a sikim ham om van.
Even to prepare for me timber in abundance; for the house which I am building is to be wonderfully great.
10 Thing aka vung tih aka top ham khaw na sal rhoek te cang yen kore thawng kul, cangtun kore thawng kul, misurtui bath thawng kul, situi bath thawng kul ka paek bitni ne,” a ti nah.
And, behold, for the hewers that cut the timber will I give unto thy servants twenty thousand cors of threshed wheat, and twenty thousand cors of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.
11 Te dongah Tyre manghai Huram loh ca neh a voek tih, Solomon taengah, “BOEIPA loh a pilnam te a lungnah dongah nang te amih soah manghai la n'khueh,” tila a pat.
Then answered Churam the king of Tyre in writing, and he sent it to Solomon, Out of the love of the Lord for his people hath he set thee as king over them.
12 Te vaengah Huram loh, “Israel Pathen BOEIPA tah a yoethen pai. Amah loh vaan neh diklai a saii. Amah loh manghai David taengah lungmingnah neh yakmingnah aka ming capa hlangcueih te a paek. Te long te BOEIPA ham im neh a ram ham im a sak ni.
And Churam said, Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel, that hath made the heavens and the earth, who hath given to king David a wise son, endowed with intelligence and understanding, who is to build a house unto the Lord, and a house for royal residence.
13 Te dongah yakmingnah aka ming, hlang cueih Huramabi te kan tueih coeng.
And now have I sent a skilful man, endowed with understanding, namely, Churam-Abi,
14 Anih he Dan nu lamkah huta pakhat kah a capa tih a napa he Tyre hlang ni. Anih tah sui neh, cak neh, rhohum neh, thi neh, lungto neh, thing neh, daidi la, a thim la, baibok la, aithii la saii ham, thingthuk cungkuem a thuk ham khaw, a taengah a paek kopoek boeih te ngai ham khaw a ming. Nang kah hlangcueih rhoek neh na pa David, ka boeipa kah hlangcueih taengah om bitni.
The son of a woman from the daughters of Dan, while his father was a man of Tyre, skilful to work in gold, and in silver, in copper, in iron, in stone, and in wood, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson; also to execute any manner of engraving, and to devise every kind of work of art which may be given to him, together with thy skilful men, and skilful men of my lord David thy father.
15 Te dongah cang neh cangtun khaw, situi neh misurtui khaw ka boeipa kah a thui bangla a sal rhoek taengah pat laeh saeh.
And now the wheat, and the barley, the oil, and the wine, of which my lord hath spoken, let him send unto his servants:
16 Na ngoengaihnah boeih tarhing ah Lebanon lamkah thing te kaimih loh kam vung vetih Joppa tuipuei lamloh nang taengah pan kan thak uh bitni. Te te namah loh Jerusalem la khuen,” a ti nah.
And we will truly cut down trees out of the Lebanon, as much as thou mayest need; and we will bring them to thee in boats by sea to Joppa; and thou shalt carry them up to Jerusalem.
17 A napa David loh mingsoepnah a soep hnukah Solomon loh Israel khohmuen kah yinlai hlang te boeih a soep tih thawng yakhat neh thawng sawmnga neh thawng thum ya rhuk a hmuh.
And Solomon numbered all the strange men that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found to be one hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred.
18 Amih khuiah thawng sawmrhih te hnophuei la, thawng sawmrhet te tlang ah lungto aka dae la, thawng thum ya rhuk te pilnam kah a thohtat aka mawt la a khueh.
And he made of them seventy thousand bearers of burdens, and eighty thousand stonecutters in the mountain, and three thousand and six hundred superintendents to set the people to work.
