< 1 Timothy 2 >

1 Te dongah rhenbihnah, thangthuinah, rhikhangnah, uemonah te hlang boeih yueng, manghai rhoek neh dudapnah dongah aka om rhoek boeih yueng la boeih saii lamhma ham kam bih.
I exhort, then, first of all, there be made supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings, for all men—
2 Te daengah ni khosaknah he hingcimnah neh hinomnah cungkuem dongah rhalthal neh dingsuek la kho n'sak uh eh.
for kings, and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all piety and gravity,
3 He ni he then tih mamih kah khangkung Pathen hmaiah mikcop la om.
for this [is] right and acceptable before God our Savior,
4 Amah loh hlang boeih khang ham neh oltak mingnah la pha sak ham a ngaih.
who wills all men to be saved, and to come to the full knowledge of the truth;
5 Pathen tah pakhat ni. Pathen neh hlang rhoek kah rhikhangkung tah hlang Jesuh Khrih pakhat ni a om.
for [there is] one God, also one mediator of God and of men—the man Christ Jesus,
6 Amah loh hlang boeih ham tlansum la paek tih laipainah te amah tue ah a tueng sak.
who gave Himself [as] a ransom for all—the testimony in its own times—
7 Te ham olhoe neh caeltueih la kai n'khueh dongah oltak ni ka thui. Tangnah neh oltak dongah kai namtom kah saya he ka laithae moenih.
in regard to which I was set a preacher and apostle—truth I say in Christ, I do not lie—a teacher of nations, in faith and truth.
8 Te dongah hmuen takuem ah tongpa rhoek te thintoek neh oelhtaihnah om kolla kut cim te phuel tih thangthui sak ka ngaih.
I intend, therefore, that men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, apart from anger and deliberation;
9 Te vanbangla huta rhoek khaw amamih he bainak dongah yahyongnah, cuepmueihnah neh mikcop la khoem uh saeh. Samvaeh neh sui neh laitha neh pueinak phutlo nen moenih.
also the women in like manner, in orderly apparel, to adorn themselves with modesty and sobriety, not in braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or clothing of great price,
10 Tedae bibi then neh Pathen hinyahnah ham ol a caeng te huta rhoek ham rhoeh coeng.
but—which becomes women professing godly piety—through good works.
11 Huta tah a cungkuem dongah boengainah neh kammueh la cang saeh.
Let a woman learn in quietness in all subjection,
12 Te dongah huta loh thuituen ham neh tongpa soah ka tanglue sak pawh. Tedae kammueh la om sak ham ni ka ngaih.
and I do not allow a woman to teach, nor to rule a husband, but to be in quietness,
13 Adam tah Eve hlanah a hlinsai lamhma ta.
for Adam was formed first, then Eve,
14 Te phoeiah Adam te a hmilhmak moenih. Tedae huta tah boekoeknah la om ham a hoilae pah coeng.
and Adam was not deceived, but the woman, having been deceived, came into transgression,
15 Tedae tangnah dongah lungnah neh cimcaihnah, cuepmueihnah neh a om uh atah cacunnah rhangneh daem ni.
and she will be saved through the childbearing, if they remain in faith, and love, and sanctification, with sobriety.
