< 1 Thessalonika 2 >

1 Manuca rhoek namamih loh na ming uh, nangmih taengah ka kunnah te a tlongtlai la a om moenih.
Brothers and sisters, you yourselves know what our visit meant to you, and that it wasn't wasted!
2 Na ming uh vanbangla Philipi ah ka yook uh tih n'neet uh dongah Pathen kah olthangthen te muep thingthuelnah khuiah nangmih taengah thui ham mamih kah Pathen rhangneh ka sayalh uh.
You'll recall that after having had much trouble and bad treatment at Philippi, with the help of God we still dared to share God's good news with you, despite the opposition we faced.
3 Kaimih kah thahphohnah tah tholhhiknah lamkah moenih, rhongingnah lamkah moenih, tuengkhuepnah nen moenih.
For what we speak about isn't deceptive, or worthless, or fraudulent.
4 Tedae Pathen lamloh a n'soepsoei tih n'tangnah vanbangla olthangthen he ka thui uh van. Hlang rhoek kah kolo ham pawt tih mamih kah thinko aka soepsoei Pathen kah kolo la ka thuiuh.
On the contrary, we have God's approval for what we say—he's entrusted us with sharing the good news. We don't set out to please people, but God. He's the one who judges our motives.
5 Palawhnah olka neh ka om uh noek moenih. Na ming uh vanbangla mueituengnah mailai neh halhkanah a om pawt khaw, Pathen tah laipai la om coeng.
As you know, we've never used flattering words. Nor were we covering up some greedy, selfish attitude—as God is our witness!
6 Hlang lamkah thangpomnah ka toem uh moenih. Nangmih lamkah moenih, hlang tloe lamkah bal moenih.
We weren't trying to win anybody's praise—not from you, nor anyone else. We could have become a “burden” to you as messengers of Christ,
7 Khrih kah caeltueih vanbangla hnorhih neh kan nan uh thai. Tedae a coeng thai atah cacun loh a ca rhoek a yuhyam bangla nangmih lakli ah cahmang la ka om uh.
but instead we acted kindly among you, like a mother caring for her own children.
8 Nangmih kah lungloeinah van bangla nangmih taengah Pathen kah olthangthen bueng pawt tih kaimih kah thintlo la na om uh coeng dongah hinglu khaw amah la doedan ham ka lungtlun uh.
We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not just God's good news, but also our very own selves, because you had become so dear to us.
9 Manuca rhoek, kaimih kah thakthaenah neh patangnah te poek uh. Nangmih taengah Pathen kah olthangthen ka hoe uh vaengah nangmih khat khaw thinrhih sak pawt ham khoyin khothaih bi ka saii uh.
Don't you remember, brothers and sisters, all our hard work— working day and night so we wouldn't be a burden to any of you as we shared God's good news with you?
10 Nangmih neh Pathen tah laipai la na omuh. A cimcaih neh a dueng vanbangla aka tangnah nangmih taengah khaw cuemthuek lam ni ka om uh.
You yourselves can testify as to how we acted, and God can too—how we treated you believers with a holy attitude, fairly and blamelessly.
11 Na ming uh van te ta. Nangmih khat rhip te pa pakhat loh a ca rhoek a hloep bangla kan hloepuh.
You know how we cared for every one of you like a father caring for his own children. We encouraged you, comforted you, and shared with you our experience
12 Nangmih te a ram neh thangpomnah khuila aka khue Pathen kah a tingtawk la na caeh uh ham nangmih te kan suem uh tih ka laipai uh.
so that you could live as God would want you to live—the God who calls you to his own kingdom and glory.
13 He dongah khaw Pathen te phat ka uem uh bal. Kaimih lamkah olthang na doe uh te Pathen kah olka ni, hlang kah olka moenih. Tedae Pathen kah Ol la rhep a om dongah na doe uh. Te tah aka tangnah nangmih khuiah khaw tueng.
Another thing: we're always thanking God that when you heard and accepted the word of God, you didn't treat it as some human words, but what it truly is, the word of God. This is what is at work in those of you who trust in him.
14 Manuca rhoek nangmih tah Judea ah aka om tih Khrih Jesuh ah Pathen hlangboel rhoek kah mueiloh la na om uh. Nangmih khaw amah pilnam lamloh amih Judah taengkah bangla amah la na patang uh.
The experience you brothers and sisters have had imitates that of God's churches that belong to Christ Jesus in Judaea. Just like your fellow Jewish Christians you suffered as they did at the hands of the Jewish leaders
15 Boeipa Jesuh neh tonghma rhoek te khaw a ngawn uh. Mamih khaw n'hnaemtaek uh. Pathen khaw a kolo uh pawh. Hlang boeih te khaw a kingkalh uh.
who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and chased us out. They don't please God and they are hostile to everyone,
16 Amamih kah tholh te a tomthap taitu vanbangla namtom rhoek te daem saeh tila thui ham khaw kaimih te n'haek uh. Tedae amih te kosi loh a bawt duela a tlak thil coeng.
trying to prevent us from speaking to the other nations to prevent them from being saved. They're always sinning to the maximum extent, but for them full judgment has arrived!
17 Manuca rhoek aw kaimih he a tue khohnin kolkalh ham nangmih mikhmuh lamkah n'tuiphih uh coeng dae thinko ah m'phih uh moenih. Nangmih maelhmai hmuh ham bahoeng hoehhamnah neh ka haam uh khungdaeng coeng.
Brothers and sisters, since we felt as if we'd experienced a family separation because we hadn't seen you for a while (separated physically though not in spirit), we tried even harder to come and see you again face to face because that's what we wanted to do.
18 Te dongah nangmih taengah pawk ham ka ngaih uh. Kai Paul rhoerhoe vai hnavoei khaw ka cai dae Satan loh kaimih n'tomta.
We really wanted to come and visit you, and I, Paul, tried again and again—but Satan stopped us.
19 Mamih kah ngaiuepnah neh omngaihnah neh hoemdamnah rhuisam tah unim? Jesuh amah a lonah dongah mamih Boeipa hmaiah nangmih van pawt nim?
For what gives us hope, what makes us happy, what we are really proud of as we stand before our Lord Jesus Christ when he comes back—is having you there too!
20 Nangmih tah kaimih kah thangpomnah neh omngaihnah la na om uh.
You are our pride and joy!
