1 He hno he a om phoeiah, Jezreel kah Samaria manghai Ahab bawkim taengah Jezreel Naboth kah misurdum om.
And it came to pass after these things, [that] Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which [was] in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.
2 Te dongah Ahab loh Naboth te, “Na misurdum te kai taengah m'pae lamtah, ka im neh a yoei ah kai ham toi-an dum la om saeh. Te yueng la nang taengah te lakah aka then misurdum khaw na mik ah aka then kam paek bitni. A phu la nang te tangka khaw kam paek bitni,” a ti nah.
And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it [is] near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; [or], if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money.
3 Naboth loh Ahab te, “A pa rhoek kah rho nang taengla kam paek ham he, kamah lamkah neh BOEIPA lamlong khaw savisava,” a ti nah.
And Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee.
4 Jezreel Naboth loh anih te a voek tih, “A pa rhoek kah rho he nang taengla kam pae mahpawh,” a ti nah ol dongah Ahab khaw a im te rhihnun cukduk neh thintoek la a pha. A baiphaih dongah a yalh neh a maelhmai a bueng tih buh khaw ca pawh.
And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.
5 A yuu Jezebel te a taengla a pawk pah vaengah tah anih te, “Na mueihla he metlam a rhihnun cukduk tih buh na caak pawh,” a ti nah.
But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread?
6 Jezebel te, “Jezreel Naboth te ka voek tih amah taengah, 'Na misurdum te kai taengah tangka la han yoi mai. Na huem mak atah a yueng misurdum khaw nang te kam paek bitni,’ ka ti nah. Tedae, 'Ka misurdum te nang taengah kam pae mahpawh,’ a ti,” a ti nah.
And he said unto her, Because I spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee [another] vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard.
And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, [and] eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.
8 Te phoeiah Ahab ming neh cabu a daek tih a kutbuen neh a daeng thil. Cabu dongkah ca te a ham rhoek taengah neh a khopuei kah Naboth taengah kho aka sa hlangcoelh taengla a pat.
So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name, and sealed [them] with his seal, and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that [were] in his city, dwelling with Naboth.
9 Cabu khuikah a daek dongah, “Yaehnah te khue uh lamtah Naboth te pilnam kah a lu la ngol saeh.
And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:
10 Anih hmai ah aka muen ca rhoi hlang panit ngol saeh. Te vaengah anih te hih saeh lamtah, 'Pathen neh manghai yoethen pae nawn,'ti nah saeh lamtah khuen saeh. Te phoeiah anih te dae lamtah duek saeh,” a ti nah.
And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And [then] carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.
11 A khopuei hlang a hamca rhoek neh a khopuei khuikah khosa hlangcoelh rhoek long khaw Jezebel loh amih ham cabu neh a daek tih amih taegla a pat dongkah a uen bangla a saii uh.
And the men of his city, [even] the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, [and] as it [was] written in the letters which she had sent unto them.
12 Yaehnah te a hoe uh tih Naboth te pilnam kah a lu la a ngol sakuh.
They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.
13 Te vaengah hlang muen ca rhoi te ha pawk tih anih hmai ah ngol rhoi van. Hlang muen rhoi loh Naboth te pilnam hmai ah a laipai thil rhoi tih, “Naboth loh Pathen neh manghai yoethen a paek oe,” a ti rhoi. Te phoeiah tah khopuei vongvoel la a khuen uh tih lungto neh a dae uh dongah Naboth te duek.
And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, [even] against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.
14 Te phoeiah Jezebel taengla a tueih uh tih, “Naboth a dae uh tih duek coeng,” a ti nah.
Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead.
15 Naboth a dae uh tih a duek te Jezebel loh a yaak van neh Jezebel long khaw Ahab taengah, “Thoo, Jezreel Naboth kah misurdum te pang laeh. Nang taengah tangka la paek ham khaw a aal dongah Naboth hing pawt tih duek coeng,” a ti nah.
And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead.
16 Naboth a duek te Ahab loh a yaak neh Ahab mah khaw thoo tih Jezreel Naboth kah misurdum te pang ham suntla.
And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.
17 Te vaengah BOEIPA ol te Tishbi Elijah taengla pawk tih,
And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
18 “Thoo, Samaria kah Israel manghai Ahab doe la suntla laeh. Naboth kah misurdum pang hamla suntla lako ke.
Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which [is] in Samaria: behold, [he is] in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess it.
19 Anih te thui pah lamtah, 'BOEIPA loh he ni a thui. Na ngawn tih na pang bal nama?' ti nah. Te phoeiah anih te thui pah lamtah, 'BOEIPA loh he ni a thui. Naboth thii ui loh a laeh nah hmuen ah nang khaw na thii te ui loh a laeh van ni,'ti nah,” a ti nah.
And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.
20 Ahab loh Elijah te, “Kai he 'Ka thunkha ' la nan hmuh nama?” a ti nah. Te dongah, “BOEIPA mik ah boethae saii ham namah na yoih uh dongah kam hmuh mah ta.
And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found [thee: ] because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.
21 Kai loh nang soah boethae kang khuen rhoe kang khuen coeng he. Namah hnukah kan dom sak vetih pangbueng aka yun thil khaw, Israel khuikah a khoh neh a hnoo khaw Ahab taeng lamloh ka saii ni.
Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel,
22 Israel te konoinah ham na veet tih na tholh sak dongah nang imkhui te Nebat capa Jeroboam imkhui bangla, Ahijah capa Baasha imkhui bangla kang khueh ni.
And will make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked [me] to anger, and made Israel to sin.
23 BOEIPA loh Jezebel kawng khaw a thui tih, “Jezebel te Jezreel rhalmahvong ah ui loh a sok ni, ' a ti.
And of Jezebel also spake the LORD, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.
24 Ahab lamkah he khopuei ah aka duek te ui loh a caak vetih kohong ah aka duek te vaan kah vaa loh a caak ni.
Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat.
25 BOEIPA mik ah boethae saii ham amah aka yoi uh Ahab bang he a om moenih. Anih he a yuu Jezebel loh a vueh bal.
But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.
26 BOEIPA loh Israel ca rhoek mikhmuh lamkah a haek Amori loh a cungkuem la a saii mueirhol hnukah a pongpa te bahoeng a tuei,” a ti nah.
And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all [things] as did the Amorites, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
27 Ahab loh he ol he a yaak van neh a himbai te a phen tih a pumsa dongah tlamhni a bai, a yaeh neh tlamhni dongah yalh tih yuepyuep cet.
And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.
28 Te vaengah Tishbi Elijah taengah BOEIPA ol ha pawk tih,
And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
29 “Ka mikhmuh ah Ahab a kunyun ke na hmuh nama? Ka mikhmuh ah a kunyun bangla amah tue ah yoethae ka khuen rhoe ka khuen pah mahpawh. A capa tue vaengah tah a imkhui ah yoethae ka khuen pah ni,” a ti nah.
Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: [but] in his son’s days will I bring the evil upon his house.
