Khat khat long khaw a tholh atah pa taengah baerhoep la hlang dueng Jesuh Khrih te n'khueh uh.
My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have a Counselor with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous.
Mamih bueng ham pawt tih Diklai pum ham khaw om.
And he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.
3 Amah kah olpaek te n'kuem uh atah amah te m'ming uh coeng tila hekah nen khaw m'ming uh.
This is how we know that we know him: if we keep his commandments.
4 Amah te ka ming tila aka thui loh boeipa kah olpaek te khaw a kuem pawt atah laithae la om tih, a khuiah oltak om pawh.
One who says, “I know him,” and does not keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 Tedae a olka te aka kuem tah a khuiah Pathen kah lungnah loh soep taktak coeng. He nen ni amah ah n'om uh te m'ming uh.
But God’s love has most certainly been perfected in whoever keeps his word. This is how we know that we are in him:
6 Amah ah naeh ham a kuek aka ti tah amah a pongpa bangla anih long khaw pongpa van saeh.
he who says he remains in him ought himself also to walk just like he walked.
7 Thintlo rhoek, nangmih taengah olpaek a thai la kan daek moenih.
Brothers, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning.
A hmuep tah khum coeng tih vangnah tah thoeng taktak coeng.
Again, I write a new commandment to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light already shines.
9 Vangnah khuiah om ham a thui tih a manuca aka hmuhuet tah tahae duela a hmuep ah om pueng.
He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in the darkness even until now.
10 A manuca aka lungnah tah vangnah dongah om tih a khuiah thangkui om pawh.
He who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no occasion for stumbling in him.
11 Tedae a manuca aka hmuhuet tah a hmuep ah om tih a hmuep ah pongpa. A hmuep loh a mik te a dael sak dongah mela a caeh khaw ming pawh.
But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
12 Oingaih rhoek nangmih ham kan daek he a ming neh tholhnah loh nangmih n'hlah uh dongah ni.
I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.
I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, little children, because you know the Father.
I have written to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God remains in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
15 Diklai te neh Diklai dongkah te lungnah boeh. Khat khat loh Diklai te a lungnah atah a khuiah pa kah lungnah om pawh.
Do not love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love is not in him.
16 Diklai dongkah a cungkuem tah, pumsa kah hoehhamnah, mik kah hoehhamnah, khosaknah dongkah oekhlawnnah he pa kah koe la om pawt tih Diklai kah la om.
For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not the Father’s, but is the world’s.
17 Diklai he khaw, anih kah hoehhamnah he khaw khum. Tedae Pathen kah kongaih aka saii tah kumhal duela om. (aiōn g165)
The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God's will remains for the age (aiōn g165).
18 Camoe rhoek, hnukkhueng tue la om tih Khrihrhal ha pawk tila na yaak uh vanbangla tahae ah pataeng Khrihrhal muep om coeng. Te dongah a tue hnukkhueng om coeng tila m'ming uh.
Little children, these are the end times, and as you heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen. By this we know that it is the final hour.
They went out from us, but they did not belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have continued with us. But they left, that they might be revealed that none of them belong to us.
You have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all have knowledge.
Tedae laithae boeih long he oltak dongah a om moenih.
I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth.
Te long te Pa neh Capa a hnawt.
Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the Antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.
23 Capa aka hnawt boeih loh Pa te a pom moenih. Capa te aka phong long ni Pa te khaw a pom.
Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father. He who confesses the Son has the Father also.
Therefore, as for you, let that remain in you which you heard from the beginning. If that which you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son, and in the Father.
25 He tah mamih taengah a caeng dungyan hingnah olkhueh ni. (aiōnios g166)
This is the promise which he promised us, the consummate (aiōnios g166) life.
26 Nangmih aka rhaithi rhoek kawng neh hekah he nangmih taengah kan daek.
These things I have written to you concerning those who would lead you astray.
27 Nangmih loh koelhnah te amah lamloh na dang uh tih nangmih ah naeh coeng. Te dongah pakhat long khaw nangmih thuituen ham a ngoe moenih. Tedae koelhnah long ni a cungkuem dongah amah la nangmih n'thuituen. A thuem a om vaengah laithae a om moenih.
As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you do not need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.
28 Oingaih rhoek amah dongah naeh uh van laeh. Te daengah ni a phoe vaengah sayalhnah n'khueh uh eh. Tedae amah a lonah tue vaengah a taengah n'yak mahpawh.
Now, little children, remain in him, that when he appears, we may have boldness and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
29 Amah te hlang dueng la om tila na ming uh atah duengnah aka saii boeih tah amah kah ca sak ni tila ming uh.
If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him.
