Nehemiah 7
1 Vongtung te a sak phoeiah tah thohkhaih te ka buen tih thoh tawt neh laa sa khaw, Levi khaw ka khueh.
And it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, —and the doorkeepers and the singers and the Levites had been appointed,
2 Te vaengah ka mana Hanani neh Hananiah te Jerusalem rhalmah im ah mangpa la ka uen. Anih tah oltak kah hlang la om tih Pathen te muep a rhih ngai.
that I gave Hanani my brother, and Hananiah captain of the castle, charge over Jerusalem, for, he, was a truly faithful man, and revered God above many.
3 Te phoeiah amih te ka uen tih, “Khomik a saeham hil Jerusalem vongka te ah uh boel saeh. Amamih rhaih a pai vaengah thohkhaih te khai uh saeh lamtah kalh uh saeh. Jerusalem kah khosa rhoek tah amah rhaltawt ah pakhat neh a im hmai ah pakhat te rhaltawt la pai bal saeh,” ka ti nah.
And I said unto them, Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until, hot, be the sun, and, while they are standing by, let them close the doors, and make them fast, —setting watches, of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one over against his own house.
4 Khopuei te hmatoeng lamtah sang tih len dae a khui kah pilnam tah a yol dongah im sa om pawh.
Now, the city, was broad on both hands, and large, but, the people, were few in the midst thereof, —and the houses had not been built.
5 Ka pathen loh ka lungbuei ah a khueh dongah hlangcoelh rhoek khaw, ukkung rhoek khaw, pilnam khaw a khuui bangla ka coi. Te vaengah lamhma la aka mael rhoek kah rhuirhong cabu te ka hmuh tih a khuiah a daek tangtae la ka hmuh.
So then my God put it into my heart, and I gathered together the nobles and the deputies and the people, to register their genealogy, —then found I a register roll, of them who came up at the first, and found written therein: —
6 He tah vangsawn tamna lamkah aka mael rhoek paeng ca rhoek ni. Amih te Babylon manghai Nebukhanezar loh a poelyoe dae Jerusalem la, Judah la, amah kho la rhip mael uh.
These, are the sons of the province, who came up from among the Captives of the Exile, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did exile, —but they came back to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one to his own city;
7 Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordekai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah neh aka pawk Israel pilnam kah hlang hlangmi.
who came in with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah, —the number of the men of the people of Israel.
8 Parosh koca te thawng hnih ya sawmrhih panit.
The sons of Parosh, two thousand, one hundred, and seventy-two;
9 Shephatiah koca rhoek ya thum sawmrhih panit.
The sons of Shephatiah, three hundred, and seventy-two;
10 Arah koca rhoek te ya rhuk sawmnga panit.
The sons of Arah, six hundred, and fifty-two;
11 Pahathmoab koca ah, Jeshua neh Joab koca lamkah te thawng hnih ya rhet hlai rhet.
The sons of Pahath-moab, belonging to the sons of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand, eight hundred, and eighteen;
12 Elam koca rhoek te thawngkhat ya hnih sawmnga pali.
The sons of Elam, a thousand, two hundred and fifty-four;
13 Zattu koca rhoek te ya rhet sawmli panga.
The sons of Zattu, eight hundred, and forty-five;
14 Zakkai koca rhoek ya rhih sawmrhuk.
The sons of Zaccai, seven hundred, and sixty;
15 Binnui koca rhoek te ya rhuk sawmli parhet.
The sons of Binnui, six hundred, and forty-eight;
16 Bebai koca rhoek te ya rhuk pakul parhet.
The sons of Bebai, six hundred, and twenty-eight;
17 Azgad koca rhoek te thawng hnih ya thum pakul panit.
The sons of Azgad, two thousand, three hundred, and twenty-two;
18 Adonikam koca rhoek te ya rhuk sawmrhuk parhih.
The sons of Adonikam, six hundred, and sixty-seven;
19 Bigvai koca rhoek thawng hnih sawmrhuk parhih.
The sons of Bigvai, two thousand, and sixty-seven;
20 Adin koca rhoek te ya rhuk sawmnga panga.
The sons of Adin, six hundred, and fifty-five;
21 Ater koca Hezekiah lamkah te sawmko parhet.
The sons of Ater, pertaining to Hezekiah, ninety-eight;
22 Hashum koca rhoek te ya thum pakul parhet.
The sons of Hashum, three hundred, and twenty-eight;
23 Bezai koca rhoek te ya thum pakul pali.
The sons of Bezai, three hundred, and twenty-four;
24 Hariph koca rhoek te ya hlai nit.
The sons of Hariph, a hundred, and twelve;
25 Gibeon koca rhoek te sawmko panga.
The sons of Gibeon, ninety-five;
26 Bethlehem neh Netophah hlang rhoek ya sawmrhet parhet.
The men of Bethlehem, and Netophah, a hundred, and eighty-eight;
27 Anathoth hlang rhoek te ya pakul parhet.
The men of Anathoth, a hundred, and twenty-eight;
28 Bethazmaveth hlang rhoek te sawmli panit.
The men of Beth-azmaveth, forty-two;
29 Kiriathjearim, Kephirah neh Beeroth hlang rhoek te ya rhih sawmli pathum.
The men of Kiriath-jearim, Chephirah and Beeroth, seven hundred, and forty-three;
30 Ramah neh Geba hlang rhoek te ya rhuk pakul pakhat.
The men of Ramah and Geba, six hundred, and twenty-one;
31 Mikmash hlang rhoek te ya pakul panit.
The men of Mickmas, a hundred, and twenty-two;
32 Bethel neh Ai hlang rhoek te ya pakul pathum.
The men of Bethel and Ai, a hundred and twenty-three;
33 A tloe Nebo hlang rhoek te sawmnga panit.
The men of the other Nebo, fifty-two;
34 A tloe Elam hlang rhoek te thawngkhat ya hnih sawmnga pali.
The sons of the other Elam, a thousand, two hundred, and fifty-four;
35 Harim koca rhoek te ya thum pakul.
The sons of Harim, three hundred, and twenty;
36 Jerikho koca rhoek te ya thum sawmli panga.
The sons of Jericho, three hundred, and forty-five;
37 Lod, Hadid neh Ono koca rhoek te ya rhih neh pakul pakhat.
The sons of Lod, Hadid and One, seven hundred, and twenty-one;
38 Senaah koca rhoek te thawng thum ya ko sawmthum.
The sons of Senaah, three thousand, nine hundred, and thirty;
39 Jedaiah koca, Jeshua imkhui lamkah khosoih rhoek te ya ko sawmrhih pathum.
The priests, The sons of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred, and seventy-three;
40 Immer koca rhoek te thawng khat sawmnga panit.
The sons of Immer, a thousand, and fifty-two;
41 Pashur koca rhoek te thawng khat ya hnih sawmli parhih.
The sons of Pashhur, a thousand, two hundred, and forty-seven;
42 Harim koca rhoek te thawng khat hlai rhih.
The sons of Harim, a thousand, and seventeen;
43 Jeshua koca Levi rhoek te Kadmiel lamkah, Hodaviah koca lamkah te sawmrhih pali.
The Levites, The sons of Jeshua, of Kadmiel, of the sons of Hodevah, seventy-four;
44 Asaph koca laa sa rhoek te ya sawmli neh parhet.
The singers, The sons of Asaph, a hundred, and forty-eight;
45 Thoh tawt, Shallum koca, Ater koca, Talmon koca, Akkub koca, Hatita koca, Shobai koca rhoek te ya sawmthum parhet.
The doorkeepers, The sons of Shallum, the sons of Ater, the sons of Talmon, the sons of Akkub, the sons of Hatita, the sons of Shobai, a hundred, and thirty-eight;
46 Tamtaeng rhoek te Ziha koca rhoek, Hasupha koca, Tabbaoth koca.
The Nethinim, The sons of Ziha, the sons of Hasupha, the sons of Tabbaoth;
47 Keros koca, Siaha koca, Padon koca.
the sons of Keros, the sons of Sia, the sons of Padon;
48 Lebana koca, Hagaba koca, Shalmai koca.
the sons of Lebana, the sons of Hagaba, the sons of Salmai;
49 Hanan koca, Giddel koca, Gahar koca.
the sons of Hanan, the sons of Giddel, the sons of Gahar;
50 Reaiah koca, Rezin koca, Nekoda koca.
the sons of Reaiah, the sons of Rezin, the sons of Nekoda;
51 Gazzam koca, Uzzah koca, Paseah koca.
the sons of Gazzam, the sons of Uzza, the sons of Paseah;
52 Besai koca, Mehunim koca, Nephussim kah Nephusim koca.
the sons of Besai, the sons of Meunim, the sons of Nephushesim;
53 Bakbuk koca, Hakupha koca, Hahur koca.
the sons of Bakbuk, the sons of Hakupha, the sons of Harhur;
54 Bazluth koca, Mehida koca, Harsha koca.
the sons of Bazlith, the sons of Mehida, the sons of Harsha;
55 Barkos koca, Sisera koca, Temah koca.
the sons of Barkos, the sons of Sisera, the sons of Temah;
56 Neziah koca, Hatipha koca.
the sons of Neziah, the sons of Hatipha.
57 Solomon kah sal koca rhoek ah, Sotai koca, Hassophereth koca, Peruda koca.
The Sons of the Servants of Solomon, The sons of Sotai, the sons of Sophereth, the sons of Perida;
58 Jaala koca, Darkon koca, Giddel koca.
the sons of Jaala, the sons of Darkon, the sons of Giddel;
59 Shephatiah koca, Hattil koca, Pochereth Hazzebaim koca, Amon koca.
the sons of Shephatiah, the sons of Hattil, the sons of Pochereth-hazzebaim, the sons of Amon.
60 Tamtaeng rhoek neh Solomon kah sal koca rhoek te a pum la ya thum sawmko panit.
All the Nethinim, and the Sons of the Servants of Solomon, were three hundred, and ninety-two.
61 Telmelah, Telharsa, Kherub, Addon neh Immer lamkah aka mael rhoek khaw a napa imkhui neh a tiingan tah thui la lo pawh. Amih te Israel lamkah ngawn ni.
And, these, are they who came up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer, —but they could not tell their ancestral house, nor their seed, whether, of Israel, they were:
62 Delaiah koca, Tobiah koca, Nekoda koca rhoek te ya rhuk sawmli panit.
the sons of Delaiah, the sons of Tobiah, the sons of Nekoda, —six hundred and forty-two,
63 Khosoih rhoek lamloh Hobaiah koca, Koz koca, Barzillai koca long tah a yuu te Giladi Barzillai nu te a loh dongah amih ming la a khue.
And, of the priests, the sons of Hobaiah, the sons of Hakkoz, —the sons of Barzillai, who had taken of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite to wife, and was called after their name.
64 Amih kah a khuui ca te a tlap uh dae a hmu pawt dongah khosoihbi lamloh coom uh coeng.
These, sought their writing wherein they were registered, but it was not found, —so they were desecrated out of the priesthood;
65 Te dongah khosoih loh Urim, Thummim neh a pai hlan hil hmuencim kah buhcim te caak pawt ham amih te tongmang boei loh a uen.
and the governor told them, they must not eat of the most holy things, —until there should stand up a priest, with Lights and Perfections.
66 Hlangping pum te pakhat la thawng sawmli thawng hnih ya thum sawmrhuk lo.
All the gathered host together, was forty-two thousand, three hundred, and sixty;
67 Amih phoei lamloh a salpa neh a sal huta he thawng rhih ya thum sawmthum parhih lo. Amih laa sa pa neh laa sa nu rhoek khaw ya hnih sawmli panga lo.
besides, their men-servants and maid-servants, were these, seven thousand, three hundred, and thirty-seven, —and, to them, pertained, singing-men and singing-women, two hundred, and forty-five:
68 Kalauk ya li sawmthum panga, laak thawng rhuk, ya rhih pakul.
their horses, were seven hundred, and thirty-six, —their mules, two hundred, and forty-five;
69 A napa rhoek kah boeilu hmuicue lamloh tongmang boei bitat ham a paek uh.
camels, four hundred, and thirty-five, —asses, six thousand, seven hundred, and twenty.
70 Thakvoh khuiah sui tangkathi thawng khat, baelcak sawmnga, khosoih angkidung ya nga sawmthum.
And, a portion of the ancestral chiefs, gave unto the work, —the governor, gave unto the treasury, of gold, a thousand darics, tossing bowls, fifty, tunics for priests, five hundred, and thirty;
71 A napa boeilu rhoek lamlong khaw bitat dongkah thakvoh khuiah sui tangkathi thawng kul, cak mina thawng hnih ya hnih a sang uh.
and, some of the ancestral chiefs, gave unto the treasury of the work, of gold, twenty thousand darics, —and, of silver, two thousand and two hundred manehs;
72 Pilnam a meet loh a paek te sui tangkathi thawng kul neh cak mina thawng hnih, khosoih angkidung sawmrhuk parhih lo.
and, that which the rest of the people gave, was, of gold, twenty thousand darics, and, of silver, two thousand manehs, —and, tunics for priests, sixty-seven.
73 Te dongah khosoih rhoek neh Levi rhoek khaw, thoh tawt rhoek neh laa sa rhoek khaw, pilnam lamkah neh tamtaeng rhoek khaw, Israel pum khaw amamih khopuei ah kho a sak uh. Hla rhih a pha vaengah Israel ca rhoek te amamih kho ah om uh.
So the priests and the Levites and the door-keepers and the singers and some of the people, and the Nethinim and all Israel, took up their abode in their cities. And, when the seventh month arrived, the sons of Israel were in their cities.
