5 Sak han ka ngaih hmuennawk to sak moe, avang kruekah kacoehtanawk qoih han ih ni Crete prae ah kang caehtaak.
I left you in Crete for this reason, that you should set in order the things that were lacking and appoint elders in every town as I directed you

Because as an administrator under God the overseer must be blameless; not self-willed, not hotheaded, not given to wine, not a bully, not avaricious;
8 angvin khenzawn thaih kami, kami kahoih hoiah angkom koeh kami, poek angsum thaih kami, poektoeng kami, kaciim ah khosah kami, nongpa nongpata zaesakhaih angsum thaih kami ah oh han angaih,

not paying attention to Jewish fables or to commands of men who are rejecting the truth.

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; in fact, both their minds and their consciences are defiled.
16 Nihcae loe Sithaw panoek kami baktiah angsak o; toe a sak o ih tok mah Anih panoek kami na ai ni, tiah amtuengsak, nihcae loe panuet thok kami, lok tahngai ai kami, hoihhaih hmuen maeto doeh sah thai ai kami ah ni oh o.
