< Luka 6 >

1 Vai hnetto haih Sabbath niah, Jesu loe lawk thung hoiah caeh; to naah a hnukbang kaminawk mah cangqui to pahoeh o, ban hoiah ahnoih o moe, pakuep o.
Now it came to pass on a sabbath, that he was going through the grainfields; and his disciples plucked the ears, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.
2 Thoemto Farasi kaminawk mah nihcae khaeah, Tipongah Sabbath niah sak han koi ai hmuen to na sak o loe? tiah a naa o.
But certain of the Pharisees said, Why do ye that which it is not lawful to do on the sabbath day?
3 Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, David mah zok amthlam naah, angmah hoi nawnto kaom kaminawk hoiah sak ih hmuen kawng to na kroek o vai ai maw?
And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read even this, what David did, when he was hungry, he, and they that were with him;
4 Anih loe Sithaw imthung ah akun moe, qaimanawk khue mah caak han koi takaw to a lak moe, a caak pacoengah, angmah hoi nawnto kaom ampuinawk hanah doeh paek toeng to loe, tiah a naa.
how he entered into the house of God, and took and ate the showbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat save for the priests alone?
5 To pacoengah anih mah nihcae khaeah, Kami Capa loe Sabbath Angraeng ah oh, tiah a naa.
And he said unto them, The Son of man is lord of the sabbath.
6 Anih loe kalah Sabbath niah doeh, Sineko thungah akun moe, kaminawk to patuk: to naah to ahmuen ah bantang ban kakhaem kami maeto oh.
And it came to pass on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man there, and his right hand was withered.
7 Anih zaehaih net o thai hanah, Sabbath niah nganna kami ngantuisak tih vai, tiah Farasinawk hoi ca tarik kaminawk mah anih to khet o.
And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath; that they might find how to accuse him.
8 Toe anih mah nihcae poekhaih to panoek pae pongah, ban khaem kami khaeah, Angthawk ah loe kaminawk salakah angdoe ah, tiah a naa. To naah to kami loe angthawk moe, angdoet.
But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man that had his hand withered, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.
9 Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Lok maeto kang dueng o han; Sabbath niah kahoih hmuen maw sak han hoih, to tih ai boeh loe kasae hmuen? Hinghaih pahlong maw, to tih ai boeh loe paduek? tiah a naa.
And Jesus said unto them, I ask you, Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good, or to do harm? to save a life, or to destroy it?
10 Nihcae boih a khet pacoengah, to kami khaeah, Ban payangh ah, tiah a naa. To kami mah ban to payangh, to naah anih ih ban loe kalah ban maeto baktih toengah hoih pae roep.
And he looked round about on them all, and said unto him, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did [so]: and his hand was restored.
11 Nihcae loe palungphui o; Jesu to kawbangmaw sak nahaeloe hoi tih, tiah maeto hoi maeto lok angdueng o.
But they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
12 Nito naah anih loe lawkthuih hanah mae nuiah caeh, aqum puek Sithaw khaeah lawk a thuih.
And it came to pass in these days, that he went out into the mountain to pray; and he continued all night in prayer to God.
13 Khawnbang khodai naah loe, a hnukbang kaminawk to angmah khaeah kawk: kami hatlai hnettonawk to a qoih, nihcae to patoeh ih kaminawk, tiah ahmin paek;
And when it was day, he called his disciples; and he chose from them twelve, whom also he named apostles:
14 Simon doeh (Piter, tiah ahmin paek), anih ih amnawk Andru, Jakob, Johan, Philip, Batholomu,
Simon, whom he also named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip and Bartholomew,
15 Mathai, Thomas, Alpheaus capa Jakob, Zealot, tiah kawk ih Simon,
and Matthew and Thomas, and James [the son] of Alphæus, and Simon who was called the Zealot,
16 Jakob amnawk angmah kangphat taak kami, Judas Iskariot cae to a qoih.
and Judas [the son] of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor;
17 Anih loe nihcae hoi nawnto mae nui hoiah anghum tathuk, tangtling ahmuen to phak naah angdoet, a hnukbang kaminawk, Judea prae, Jerusalem vangpui, Tura hoi Sidon tuipui taengah kaom pop parai kaminawk loe anih ih lok to tahngaih o moe, nihcae nathaih hoisak hanah anih khaeah angzoh o;
and he came down with them, and stood on a level place, and a great multitude of his disciples, and a great number of the people from all Judæa and Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
18 to kaminawk loe taqawk mah naeh ih kami ah oh o, toe nihcae loe ngantui o.
and they that were troubled with unclean spirits were healed.
19 Anih khae hoiah thacakhaih to tacawt moe, nihcae to ngantuisak boih pongah, minawk boih mah anih to sui hanah koeh o.
And all the multitude sought to touch him; for power came forth from him, and healed [them] all.
20 A hnukbang kaminawk to khet moe, Nangcae kamtang kaminawk taham na hoih o: Sithaw prae loe nangcae ih ni.
And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed [are] ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Nangcae vaihi zok amthlam kaminawk taham na hoih o: zok nam hah o tih. Nangcae vaihiah qah kaminawk taham na hoih o: na pahnui o tih.
Blessed [are] ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed [are] ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
22 Kami Capa pongah, kaminawk mah ang hnukma o, ang pahnawt o, ang zoeh o, ahmin kasae ang thuih o naah, tahamhoih kami ah ni na oh o.
Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you [from their company], and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
23 To na niah nangcae loe anghoehaih hoiah amloep oh: khenah, nangcae hanah kalen parai tangqum to van ah oh: nihcae ampanawk mah tahmaanawk mataeng doeh to tiah ni sak o.
Rejoice in that day, and leap [for joy]: for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for in the same manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
24 Toe nangcae angraengnawk khosak na bing o! Nangmacae patloephaih to na hnuk o boeh.
But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
25 Nangcae zok amhah kaminawk khosak na bing o! Zok nam thlam o tih. Nangcae vaihiah pahnui kaminawk khosak na bing o! Palung na naa o ueloe, na qah o tih.
Woe unto you, ye that are full now! for ye shall hunger. Woe [unto you], ye that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
26 Kami boih mah pakoeh ih kaminawk, khosak na bing o! To tiah ni nihcae ih ampanawk mah kamro tahmaanawk pakoeh o.
Woe [unto you], when all men shall speak well of you! for in the same manner did their fathers to the false prophets.
27 Toe ka lok tahngai kami, kang thuih o, na misanawk to palung oh, nangcae hnuma kaminawk khaeah kahoih hmuen to sah oh,
But I say unto you that hear, Love your enemies, do good to them that hate you,
28 nangcae kasae thui kaminawk tahamhoihaih paek oh, nangcae raihaih paek kaminawk hanah lawkthui pae oh.
bless them that curse you, pray for them that despitefully use you.
29 Na tangbaeng maeto bang tabaeng kami khaeah kalah tangbaeng maeto doeh patueng paeh; nang ih kahni la ving kami hanah laihaw kalen doeh paek han paawt hmah.
To him that smiteth thee on the [one] cheek offer also the other; and from him that taketh away thy cloak withhold not thy coat also.
30 Nangcae khaeah hmuen hni kaminawk hanah paek oh, nang ih hmuen la ving kaminawk khaeah hni let hmah.
Give to every one that asketh thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
31 Minawk mah na nuiah saksak han na koeh ih baktih toengah minawk nuiah doeh sah ah.
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32 Nangcae palung kami khue to na palung o nahaeloe, atho timaw om tih? Kazae kaminawk mah mataeng doeh nihcae palung kaminawk to palung o toeng bae.
And if ye love them that love you, what thank have ye? for even sinners love those that love them.
33 Nangcae nuiah kahoih hmuen sah kaminawk khae khue ah kahoih hmuen na sak o nahaeloe, atho timaw om tih? Kazae kaminawk mah mataeng doeh to tiah sak o toeng bae.
And if ye do good to them that do good to you, what thank have ye? for even sinners do the same.
34 Pathok thai tih, tiah na poek o ih kaminawk khae khue ah hmuenmae na coi o sak nahaeloe, atho timaw om tih? Kazae kaminawk mah mataeng doeh kapop ah hnuk hanah kazae kaminawk khaeah a coi o sak toeng bae.
And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? even sinners lend to sinners, to receive again as much.
35 Toe na misanawk to palung oh, kahoih hmuen to sah oh loe, pathok let han oephaih tawn ai ah coi o sak ah; to tiah nahaeloe nangcae han kalen parai tangqum to om ueloe, Kasang koek ih caa ah na om o tih: anih loe kawnhaih lok thui thai ai kaminawk hoi kazae kaminawk khaeah mataeng doeh tahmenhaih to tawnh.
But love your enemies, and do [them] good, and lend, never despairing; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be sons of the Most High: for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.
36 Nangcae ampa loe palungnathaih to tawnh, to tiah nangcae mah doeh palungnathaih to tawn o toeng ah.
Be ye merciful, even as your Father is merciful.
37 Lokcaekhaih na tongh o han ai ah, minawk to lokcaek o hmah: padaenghaih na hnuk o han ai ah, minawk to padaeng o hmah: minawk zaehaih tahmen oh, tahmenhaih na hnu o toeng tih:
And judge not, and ye shall not be judged: and condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: release, and ye shall be released:
38 paek oh, na paek o toeng tih; minawk mah kahoih ah ang noek pae o moe, paek khue khawt ai ah, kakoi mongah na hnawt pae o tathuk ueloe, nawnto ahoek pacoengah, kamthlai pok ah na saoek nuiah na krai pae o tih. Minawk han na noek pae o ih baktih toengah, na noek pae o let tih, tiah a naa.
give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you again.
39 Anih mah nihcae khaeah patahhaih lok a thuih pae, Mikmaeng mah mikmaeng to hoi thai tih maw? Hoi nahaeloe tangqom thungah krah hoi hmaek mak ai maw?
And he spake also a parable unto them, Can the blind guide the blind? shall they not both fall into a pit?
40 Ca amtuk kami loe anih patukkung pongah kop kue ai: toe mi kawbaktih doeh kakoep ah amtuk kami loe anih patukkung baktiah om tih.
The disciple is not above his teacher: but every one when he is perfected shall be as his teacher.
41 Tipongah na mik thungah kaom anuen to panoek ai ah, nawkamya mik thung ih anuen to na khet pae loe?
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
42 To tih ai boeh loe na mik thung ih anuen mataeng doeh hnu ai ah, kawbangmaw nawkamya khaeah, Nawkamya, na mik thung ih anuen to kang lak pae han, tiah na thui thai tih? Nang angsah cop kami! Na mik thung ih anuen to la hmaloe ah, to pacoengah ni na mik to amtueng ueloe, nawkamya mik thung ih anuen to na la pae thai tih.
Or how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me cast out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.
43 Kahoih thing loe athaih kasae athai vai ai; to baktih toengah kasae thing mah doeh kahoih athaih to athai vai ai.
For there is no good tree that bringeth forth corrupt fruit; nor again a corrupt tree that bringeth forth good fruit.
44 Angmah ih athaih hoiah akung kawng to panoek thaih. Mi mah doeh soekhring thing hoiah thaiduet thaih to pakhrik vai ai, soekhring takha thung hoiah doeh nihcae mah misurthaih pakhrik o vai ai.
For each tree is known by its own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
45 Kahoih kami loe a palung thungah akom kahoih hmuen to a sinh, kahoih ai kami loe a palung thungah kaom kahoih ai hmuen to a sinh: palung thungah koi kamtlai to ni pakha hoiah thuih.
The good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and the evil [man] out of the evil [treasure] bringeth forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46 Ka thuih ih hmuennawk to sah ai ah, tikhoe Angraeng, Angraeng, tiah nang kawk o loe?
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47 Mi kawbaktih doeh kai khaeah kangzo, ka loknawk to tahngai moe, thuih ih loknawk baktih toengah sah kami loe kawbaktih hmuen hoiah maw anghmong, tito kang patuek o han:
Every one that cometh unto me, and heareth my words, and doeth them, I will show you to whom he is like:
48 anih loe im sah kami maeto hoiah anghmong, anih mah long to kathuk ah takaeh moe, thlung nuiah im to sak: tuiphu angthawk moe, tui mah to im to tanawt naah, thlung nuiah sak ih im ah oh pongah, anghuen ai.
he is like a man building a house, who digged and went deep, and laid a foundation upon the rock: and when a flood arose, the stream brake against that house, and could not shake it: because it had been well builded.
49 Toe ka lok to thaih moe, sah ai kami loe, kacakah angdoethaih ahmuen kaom ai long a nuiah im sah kami hoiah anghmong; tui mah a im to tha hoiah tanawt naah, akra ai ah amtimh roep; to im amrohaih loe len parai, tiah a naa.
But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that built a house upon the earth without a foundation; against which the stream brake, and straightway it fell in; and the ruin of that house was great.
