< Luka 5 >

1 Anih Gennesaret tui kangbuem taengah angdoet naah, Sithaw lok tahngai hanah paroeai kaminawk anih taengah caeh o,
And it came to pass, that when the multitudes pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Genesareth,
2 tanga naeh kaminawk loe palok pasuk hanah caeh o, nihcae mah caehtaak sut ih tui taengah kaom palong hnetto a hnuk.
And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.
3 Anih loe palong maeto thungah akunh, to palong loe Simon ih palong ah oh, anih mahSimon khaeah palong tui thungah tanawt kue ah, tiah a naa. Anih loe anghnut moe, palong thungah pop parai kaminawk to patuk.
And going into one of the ships that was Simon’s, he desired him to draw back a little from the land. And sitting he taught the multitudes out of the ship.
4 Lok a thuih pacoengah, anih mah Simon khaeah, Tanga naeh hanah, kathuk tui thungah palok to haeng ah, tiah a naa.
Now when he had ceased to speak, he said to Simon: Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
5 Simon mah anih khaeah, Angraeng, qum puek ka haeng o boeh, tidoeh ka naeh o ai: toe na lok baktih toengah, ka haengh han, tiah a naa.
And Simon answering said to him: Master, we have labored all the night, and have taken nothing: but at thy word I will let down the net.
6 A lok baktih toengah a sak o naah, palok angsik duih khoek to pop parai tanga to a naeh o.
And when they had done this, they enclosed a very great multitude of fishes, and their net broke.
7 Nihcae khaeah caeh moe, abomh o hanah, kalah palong thungah kaom angmacae ih ampuinawk to a kawk o. Nihcae angzoh o moe, tui angbuek duih khoek to palong hnetto kakoi ah tanga to a naeh o.
And they beckoned to their partners that were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they were almost sinking.
8 To tiah kaom to Simon Piter mah hnuk naah, Jesu khokkung ah cangkrawn moe, Angraeng, na caehtaak ah, kai loe kami kazae ni, tiah a naa.
Which when Simon Peter saw, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying: Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
9 Tanga pop parai ah a naeh o pongah, Piter hoi nawnto kaom kaminawk boih dawnrai o:
For he was wholly astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken.
10 Simon ih ampui, Zebedee ih caa Jakob hoi Johan doeh dawnrai hoi toeng. Jesu mah Simon khaeah, Zii hmah; vaihi hoi kamtong kami naehkung ah na om tih, tiah a naa.
And so were also James and John the sons of Zebedee, who were Simon’s partners. And Jesus saith to Simon: Fear not: from henceforth thou shalt catch men.
11 palong to tuicing bangah zaeh o moe, hmuenmaenawk a caeh o taak boih pacoengah, anih hnukah bang o.
And having brought their ships to land, leaving all things, they followed him.
12 Anih vangpui maeto thungah oh naah, khenah, ngansae man kami maeto mah Jesu to hnuk naah, a hmaa ah tabok moe, Angraeng, na koeh nahaeloe, na ciimcaisak ah, tiah tahmenhaih hnik.
And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy, who seeing Jesus, and falling on his face, besought him, saying: Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
13 Jesu mah ban payangh moe, to kami to sui, Ka koeh: ciimcai lai ah, tiah a naa. Akra ai ah ngansae nathaih to hoih pae roep.
And stretching forth his hand, he touched him, saying: I will. Be thou cleansed. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.
14 Jesu mah anih khaeahmi khaeah doeh thui hmah. Toe Mosi ih kaalok baktih toengah caeh ah loe, qaima khaeah patuek ah, ciimcai boeh, tiah nihcae mah panoek o thai hanah, hmuenpaekhaih to sah ah, tiah a naa.
And he charged him that he should tell no man, but, Go, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing according as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.
15 Toe anih ih tamthang loe amthang aep aep: to pongah anih ih lok to tahngaih moe, nihcae nathaih hoisak hanah, paroeai kaminawk anih khaeah nawnto angzoh o.
But the fame of him went abroad the more, and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.
16 Anih loe praezaek ah caeh moe, lawk a thuih.
And he retired into the desert, and prayed.
17 Nito naah, anih mah patuk nathuem ah, Kalili prae, Judea prae hoi Jerusalem vangpui ah kaom, Farasinawk hoi ca tarik kaminawk anih taengah anghnut o: to naah nihcae ngantuisak hanah Angraeng thacakhaih to amtueng.
And it came to pass on a certain day, as he sat teaching, that there were also Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, that were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judea and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was to heal them.
18 Khenah, khok ban angtawt thai ai kami maeto kahni hoi ayaw o moe, anih khaeah caeh o haih, to kami to a thungah akun o haih moe, Anih hmaa ah suek hanah a poek o.
And behold, men brought in a bed a man, who had the palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.
19 Kami pop parai moe, a thungah akunhaih loklam hnu o ai pongah, imphu nuiah dawh o moe, imphu to phraek o pacoengah, nganna kami to iihkhun hoi nawnto kaminawk salak hoiah Jesu hmaa ah pakhrak o.
And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in, because of the multitude, they went up upon the roof, and let him down through the tiles with his bed into the midst before Jesus.
20 Jesu mah nihcae tanghaih to hnuk naah, nganna kami khaeah, Ampui, na zaehaihnawk loe tahmen boeh, tiah a naa.
Whose faith when he saw, he said: Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.
21 To naah ca tarik kami hoi Farasinawk mah, Hae tiah Sithaw ahmin kasae thui kami loe mi aa? Sithaw khue ai ah loe, mi mah maw zaehaihnawk to tahmen thai tih, tiah a poek o.
And the scribes and Pharisees began to think, saying: Who is this who speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?
22 Jesu mah nihcae poekhaihnawk to panoek pae naah, Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Palung thungah timaw na poek o?
And when Jesus knew their thoughts, answering, he said to them: What is it you think in your hearts?
23 Na zaehaihnawk loe tahmen boeh, tiah thuih hae maw kazoi kue, to tih ai boeh loe Angthawk ah loe caeh lai ah, tiah thuih ih?
Which is easier to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Arise and walk?
24 Toe kami Capa loe long nuiah zaehaihnawk to tahmen hanah thacakhaih to tawnh, tiah na panoek o thai hanah, (khokban angtawt thai ai kami khaeah, ) Angthawk ah, nangmah ih kahni to la ah loe, nangmah im ah caeh lai ah, tiah lok kang paek, tiah a naa.
But that you may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy, ) I say to thee, Arise, take up thy bed, and go into thy house.
25 Anih loe nihcae hmaa ah angthawk roep, angmah baih ih kahni to a lak moe, Sithaw pakoehhaih hoiah angmah im ah amlaem.
And immediately rising up before them, he took up the bed on which he lay; and he went away to his own house, glorifying God.
26 Nihcae boih dawnrai o moe, Sithaw to saphaw o, zithaih hoiah koi o, aicae mah vaihniah dawnrai hmuen a hnuk o boeh, tiah a thuih o.
And all were astonished; and they glorified God. And they were filled with fear, saying: We have seen wonderful things today.
27 Hae tiah oh pacoengah anih loe caeh moe, Levi tiah ahmin kaom, phoisa conghaih ahmuen ah kanghnu, tamut cong kami maeto a hnuk, to naah anih khaeah Ka hnukah bangah, tiah a naa.
And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom, and he said to him: Follow me.
28 Levi loe angthawk moe, hmuenmaenawk caehtaak boih pacoengah, anih hnukah bang.
And leaving all things, he rose up and followed him.
29 Levi mah Jesu hanah angmah ih im ah kalen parai poih to a sak pae: pop parai tamut cong kaminawk hoi kalah kaminawk doeh nihcae hoi nawnto anghnut o toeng.
And Levi made him a great feast in his own house; and there was a great company of publicans, and of others, that were at table with them.
30 Ca tarik kami hoi Farasinawk mah a hnukbang kaminawk khaeah laisaep o thuih, Tikhoe tamut cong kaminawk, kazae kaminawk hoiah buh nawnto na caak o loe? tiah a naa o.
But the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying to his disciples: Why do you eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
31 Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Ngantui kaminawk loe tuisi kop kami angai ai; nganna kaminawk mah ni angaih, tiah a naa.
And Jesus answering, said to them: They that are whole, need not the physician: but they that are sick.
32 Kai loe katoeng kami kawk hanah kang zo ai, kazae kaminawk dawnpakhuem hanah ni kang zoh, tiah a naa.
I came not to call the just, but sinners to penance.
33 Nihcae mah Jesu khaeah, Johan hnukbang kaminawk loe buh zah o moe, lawkthuih o toepsoep, to baktih toengah Farasi hnuk bang kaminawk doeh buh zah o toeng, toe na hnukbang kaminawk loe a naek o moe, a caak o, tiah a naa.
And they said to him: Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and the disciples of the Pharisees in like manner; but thine eat and drink?
34 Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Zu la kami oh nathuem ah, anih ih ampuinawk to buh na zah o sak han maw?
To whom he said: Can you make the children of the bridegroom fast, whilst the bridegroom is with them?
35 Toe zu la kami lak vinghaih atue to pha tih, to naah nihcae mah buh to zaa o tih, tiah a naa.
But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, then shall they fast in those days.
36 Nihcae khaeah patahhaih lok hoiah doeh a thuih pae; mi mah doeh kahni kangtha to kangquem nuiah abu vai ai; abu nahaeloe kangtha mah angsik sak aep tih, kahni kangtha hoi kangquem abu nahaeloe khet amcuk mak ai.
And he spoke also a similitude to them: That no man putteth a piece from a new garment upon an old garment; otherwise he both rendeth the new, and the piece taken from the new agreeth not with the old.
37 Mi mah doeh misurtui kangtha to pailang kangquem pongah suem vai ai; suem nahaeloe misurtui kangtha mah pailang kangquem to tapoksak ueloe, misurtui to amsah tih, pailang doeh amro boih tih.
And no man putteth new wine into old bottle: otherwise the new wine will break the bottles, and it will be spilled, and the bottles will be lost.
38 Misurtui kangtha loe pailang kangtha pongah suek han oh; to tiah ni amro ai ah suem hmaek thai tih.
But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.
39 Kaminawk mah misurtui kangquem loe hoih kue, tiah thuih o baktih toengah, mi mah doeh misurtui kangquem naek pacoengah misurtui kangtha naek hanah koeh o ai boeh, tiah a naa.
And no man drinking old, hath presently a mind to new: for he saith, The old is better.
