Yeshua, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness

for forty days, being tempted by the devil. He ate nothing in those days. Afterward, when they were completed, he was hungry.

The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”

Yeshua answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’”

The devil, leading him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 Taqawk mah anih khaeah, Hae thacakhaih hoi lensawkhaihnawk hae kang paek boih han: to baktih hmuennawk loe kai hanah paek boih boeh; ka koeh ih kawbaktih kami hanah doeh ka paek thaih.
The devil said to him, “I will give you all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I want.
7 To pongah nang bok nahaeloe, hae hmuennawk loe nang ih hmuen ah ni om boih tih, tiah a naa.
If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours.”

Yeshua answered him, “Get behind me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’”
9 Taqawk mah anih to Jerusalem ah caeh haih moe, kasang koek tempul nuiah ohsak, anih khaeah, Sithaw capa ah na oh nahaeloe, hae ahmuen hoiah lungpung tathuk ah:
He led him to Jerusalem and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from here,

for it is written, ‘He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you;’

and, ‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest perhaps you dash your foot against a stone.’”

Yeshua answering, said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’”
13 Taqawk pacuekhaih boeng boih pacoengah, taqawk mah atue setta thung anih to caeh taak.
When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until another time.
14 Jesu loe Muithla thacakhaih hoiah Kalili ah amlaem: anih ih tamthang loe a taeng ih ahmuennawk boih ah amthang.
Yeshua returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and news about him spread through all the surrounding area.
15 To kaminawk ih Sineko ah anih mah patuk naah, kaminawk boih mah anih to saphaw o.
He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.
16 Anih loe a qoenghaih, Nazareth vangpui ah caeh: Sabbath niah loe, a caeh zong ih baktih toengah, Sineko ah caeh moe, kaciim Cabu kroek hanah, angdoet tahang.
He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. He entered, as was his custom, into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.

The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. He opened the scroll, and found the place where it was written,

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,

and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

He closed the scroll, gave it back to the shammash, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Na thaih o baktih toengah, hae Cabu lok loe vaihniah akoep boeh, tiah a naa.
He began to tell them, “Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

All testified about him and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth; and they said, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?”
23 Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Nangcae mah, Tuisi kop kami, nangmah hoi nangmah ngan angtuisak ah: ka thaih o ih Kapernuam vangpui ah na sak ih hmuennawk to nangmah ih avang ah doeh sah toeng ah, tiah thuih ih patahhaih lok to kai thuih haih ah na patoh o tih, tiah a naa.
He said to them, “Doubtless you will tell me this proverb, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in your hometown.’”
24 Loktang kang thuih o, Kawbaktih tahmaa doeh angmah prae ah loe tapom o ai.
He said, “Most certainly I tell you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.
25 Loktang kang thuih o, Elijah dung ah Israel prae thungah lamhmainawk oh o mangh, saning thumto hoi khrah tarukto thung van thok to khah moe, prae boih ah takang thoh;
But truly I tell you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land.
26 toe Elijah to minawk kalah khaeah patoeh ai, Sidon prae, Zaraphath vangpui ah kaom lamhmai maeto khae khue ah ni patoeh.
Elijah was sent to none of them, except to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.
27 Tahmaa Elijah dung ah Israel prae thungah ngansae man kaminawk oh o mangh; toe Syria kami Namaan khue ai ah loe, mi doeh ngantui o ai, tiah a naa.
There were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, except Naaman, the Syrian.”
28 Sineko thungah kaom kaminawk boih mah, hae hmuen kawngnawk thaih o naah, nichae loe palungphui o,
They were all filled with wrath in the synagogue as they heard these things.
29 angthawk o moe, anih to vangpui tasa bangah nuih o; vangpui ohhaih mae nui hoiah nuih tathuk hanah anih to vangpui tasa bangah caeh o haih.
They rose up, threw him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill that their city was built on, that they might throw him off the cliff.
30 Toe anih loe paroeai kaminawk salak hoiah cawnh ving,
But he, passing through the middle of them, went his way.
31 To pacoengah Kalili prae, Kapernuam vangpui ah caeh tathuk, Sabbath niah kaminawk to patuk.
He came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. He was teaching them on the Sabbath day,

and they were astonished at his teaching, for his word was with authority.
33 Sineko thungah, taqawk sae tawn kami maeto oh, anih loe kaciim ai muithla to tawnh,
In the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon; and he cried out with a loud voice,
34 kaicae loe kaimacae hmawk ah om o ue; nang Nazareth Jesu, nang hoi kaicae timaw asaenghaih oh, kaicae amrosak han ih maw nang zoh? Nang loe mi maw tito kang panoek o; Nang loe Kaciim Sithaw Capa ni, tiah tha hoi a hangh.
saying, “Ah! what have we to do with you, Yeshua of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Holy One of God!”
35 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Anghngai duem ah, anih takoh thung hoiah tacawt ah, tiah a zoeh. Taqawk sae mah kaminawk hma ah to kami to long ah amtimsak pacoengah, anih takoh thung hoiah tacawt, anih to nganbawh kana paek ai.
Yeshua rebuked him, saying, “Be silent and come out of him!” When the demon had thrown him down in the middle of them, he came out of him, having done him no harm.
36 Kaminawk boih dawnrai o moe, Hae loe kawbaktih lok maw vai! Kaciim ai muithla khaeah sakthaihaih hoi thacakhaih hoiah lokpaek naah, taqawk sae mataeng doeh tacawtsak thaih! tiah maeto hoi maeto ang thuih o.
Amazement came on all and they spoke together, one with another, saying, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”
37 Anih ih ahmin loe a taengah kaom prae thung boih ah amthang.
News about him went out into every place of the surrounding region.
38 Anih loe Sineko hoiah tacawt moe, Simon im ah akunh. To nathuem ah Simon zu ih amno loe ngannat nung parai; to pongah anih khaeah tahmenhaih hnik pae o.
He rose up from the synagogue and entered into Simon’s house. Simon’s mother-in-law was afflicted with a great fever, and they begged him to help her.
39 Anih loe nongpata taengah angdoet moe, nathaih to zoeh pae; to naah ngan kana to prak pae: akra ai ah nongpata to angthawk moe, nihcae khetzawnhaih tok to a sak pae.
He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them.
40 Ni duem naah loe, congca nathaih tawn kaminawk anih khaeah angzoh o haih; to kaminawk boih nuiah a ban to koeng pae moe, nihcae to ngantuisak.
When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
41 Paroeai kaminawk ih takoh thung hoiah taqawknawk tacawt o moe, Nang loe Sithaw Capa Kri ni, tiah hang o. Anih loe Kri ni, tito nihcae mah panoek o: to pongah Jesu mah lok apaeh han ai ah nihcae to zoeh.
Demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, “You are the Messiah, the Son of God!” Rebuking them, he didn’t allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Messiah.
42 Khodai naah anih loe angthawk moe, praezaek ah caeh: kaminawk mah anih to pakrong o, anih khae phak o naah loe, om raeh, kaicae hae na caehtaak hmah, tiah a naa o.
When it was day, he departed and went into an uninhabited place and the multitudes looked for him, and came to him, and held on to him, so that he wouldn’t go away from them.
43 Toe anih mah nihcae khaeah, Kalah vangpuinawk ah doeh Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah ukhaih prae kawng to ka thuih han oh vop: to tiah thuih han ih ni kai hae ang patoeh, tiah a naa.
But he said to them, “I must proclaim the good news of God’s Kingdom to the other cities also. For this reason I have been sent.”
44 Anih loe Kalili prae ih Sineko thungah tamthanglok to taphong.
He was proclaiming in the synagogues of Galilee.
