7 To pongah nang bok nahaeloe, hae hmuennawk loe nang ih hmuen ah ni om boih tih, tiah a naa.
If thou therefore wilt worship before me, it shall all be thine.

And Jesus answered and said unto him, It is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

And when the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him for a season.
14 Jesu loe Muithla thacakhaih hoiah Kalili ah amlaem: anih ih tamthang loe a taeng ih ahmuennawk boih ah amthang.
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and a fame went out concerning him through all the region round about.
15 To kaminawk ih Sineko ah anih mah patuk naah, kaminawk boih mah anih to saphaw o.
And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
16 Anih loe a qoenghaih, Nazareth vangpui ah caeh: Sabbath niah loe, a caeh zong ih baktih toengah, Sineko ah caeh moe, kaciim Cabu kroek hanah, angdoet tahang.
And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and he entered, as his custom was, into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read.
17 Tahmaa Isaiah ih Cabu tangoengh to anih hanah paek o. Anih mah Cabu to paongh naah, to ahmuen ah,
And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaiah. And he opened the book, and found the place where it was written,

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 Angraeng mah tapom ih kahoih saning to taphong hanah, ang patoeh boeh, tiah tarik ih kaom Cabu to a hnuk.
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 Anih mah Cabu tangoeng to ayaw moe, to ah toksah kami khaeah a paek pacoengah, anghnut. Sineko thungah kaom kaminawk boih mah anih to khet o.
And he closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant, and sat down: and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Na thaih o baktih toengah, hae Cabu lok loe vaihniah akoep boeh, tiah a naa.
And he began to say unto them, Today hath this scripture been fulfilled in your ears.

And all bare him witness, and wondered at the words of grace which proceeded out of his mouth: and they said, Is not this Joseph’s son?
23 Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Nangcae mah, Tuisi kop kami, nangmah hoi nangmah ngan angtuisak ah: ka thaih o ih Kapernuam vangpui ah na sak ih hmuennawk to nangmah ih avang ah doeh sah toeng ah, tiah thuih ih patahhaih lok to kai thuih haih ah na patoh o tih, tiah a naa.
And he said unto them, Doubtless ye will say unto me this parable, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in thine own country.
24 Loktang kang thuih o, Kawbaktih tahmaa doeh angmah prae ah loe tapom o ai.
And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is acceptable in his own country.
25 Loktang kang thuih o, Elijah dung ah Israel prae thungah lamhmainawk oh o mangh, saning thumto hoi khrah tarukto thung van thok to khah moe, prae boih ah takang thoh;
But of a truth I say unto you, There were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when there came a great famine over all the land;
26 toe Elijah to minawk kalah khaeah patoeh ai, Sidon prae, Zaraphath vangpui ah kaom lamhmai maeto khae khue ah ni patoeh.
and unto none of them was Elijah sent, but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.
27 Tahmaa Elijah dung ah Israel prae thungah ngansae man kaminawk oh o mangh; toe Syria kami Namaan khue ai ah loe, mi doeh ngantui o ai, tiah a naa.
And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian.
28 Sineko thungah kaom kaminawk boih mah, hae hmuen kawngnawk thaih o naah, nichae loe palungphui o,
And they were all filled with wrath in the synagogue, as they heard these things;
29 angthawk o moe, anih to vangpui tasa bangah nuih o; vangpui ohhaih mae nui hoiah nuih tathuk hanah anih to vangpui tasa bangah caeh o haih.
and they rose up, and cast him forth out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might throw him down headlong.
30 Toe anih loe paroeai kaminawk salak hoiah cawnh ving,
But he passing through the midst of them went his way.
31 To pacoengah Kalili prae, Kapernuam vangpui ah caeh tathuk, Sabbath niah kaminawk to patuk.
And he came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. And he was teaching them on the sabbath day:
32 A thuih ih lok loe thacak pongah, anih patukhaih lok pongah kaminawk dawnrai o.
and they were astonished at his teaching; for his word was with authority.
33 Sineko thungah, taqawk sae tawn kami maeto oh, anih loe kaciim ai muithla to tawnh,
And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil; and he cried out with a loud voice,

Ah! what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
35 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Anghngai duem ah, anih takoh thung hoiah tacawt ah, tiah a zoeh. Taqawk sae mah kaminawk hma ah to kami to long ah amtimsak pacoengah, anih takoh thung hoiah tacawt, anih to nganbawh kana paek ai.
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him down in the midst, he came out of him, having done him no hurt.
36 Kaminawk boih dawnrai o moe, Hae loe kawbaktih lok maw vai! Kaciim ai muithla khaeah sakthaihaih hoi thacakhaih hoiah lokpaek naah, taqawk sae mataeng doeh tacawtsak thaih! tiah maeto hoi maeto ang thuih o.
And amazement came upon all, and they spake together, one with another, saying, What is this word? for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
37 Anih ih ahmin loe a taengah kaom prae thung boih ah amthang.
And there went forth a rumour concerning him into every place of the region round about.
38 Anih loe Sineko hoiah tacawt moe, Simon im ah akunh. To nathuem ah Simon zu ih amno loe ngannat nung parai; to pongah anih khaeah tahmenhaih hnik pae o.

And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she rose up and ministered unto them.
40 Ni duem naah loe, congca nathaih tawn kaminawk anih khaeah angzoh o haih; to kaminawk boih nuiah a ban to koeng pae moe, nihcae to ngantuisak.
And when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
41 Paroeai kaminawk ih takoh thung hoiah taqawknawk tacawt o moe, Nang loe Sithaw Capa Kri ni, tiah hang o. Anih loe Kri ni, tito nihcae mah panoek o: to pongah Jesu mah lok apaeh han ai ah nihcae to zoeh.
And devils also came out from many, crying out, and saying, Thou art the Son of God. And rebuking them, he suffered them not to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.
42 Khodai naah anih loe angthawk moe, praezaek ah caeh: kaminawk mah anih to pakrong o, anih khae phak o naah loe, om raeh, kaicae hae na caehtaak hmah, tiah a naa o.
And when it was day, he came out and went into a desert place: and the multitudes sought after him, and came unto him, and would have stayed him, that he should not go from them.
43 Toe anih mah nihcae khaeah, Kalah vangpuinawk ah doeh Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah ukhaih prae kawng to ka thuih han oh vop: to tiah thuih han ih ni kai hae ang patoeh, tiah a naa.
But he said unto them, I must preach the good tidings of the kingdom of God to the other cities also: for therefore was I sent.
44 Anih loe Kalili prae ih Sineko thungah tamthanglok to taphong.
And he was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
