< Luka 24 >

1 Ni sarihto thung ih ni hmaloe koek, khawnthaw ah, nongpatanawk loe kalah nongpatanawk hoi nawnto, a sak o ih hmuihoihtuinawk to sin o moe, taprong ah caeh o.
Then on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb carrying the spices they had prepared, along with some others.
2 Taprong ah a phak o naah kamlet ving tangqom kraenghaih thlung to a hnuk o.
They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,
3 Nihcae loe a thungah akun o, toe Angraeng Jesu ih qok to hnu o ai.
but upon entering they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
4 Nihcae dawnraihaih hoiah oh o nathuem ah, khenah, a aengh kampha kahni angkhuk kami hnetto nihcae taengah angdoet:
And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that wow, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing!
5 nihcae loe zit o moe, a mikhmai long ah akuep o, to naah nihnik mah nongpatanawk khaeah, Tikhoe kadueh kaminawk salakah kahing kami na pakrong o loe?
Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the ground, they said to them: “Why do you seek the living One among the dead?
6 Anih loe haeah om ai, angthawk boeh: Kami Capa loe kazae kaminawk ban ah paek o ueloe, thinglam pongah takhing o tih, toe ni thumto naah angthawk let tih, tiah Kalili prae ah a oh naah, ang thuih o ih lok to poek oh, tiah a naa.
He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He told you while still in Galilee,
7
saying, ‘The Son of the Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’”
8 To naah a thuih ih loknawk to nihcae mah panoek o let,
And they remembered His words.
9 taprong hoiah amlaem o moe, toah kaom hmuen kawngnawk boih to kami hatlaito hoi kalah kaminawk khaeah a thuih pae o.
Then they returned from the tomb and reported all these things to the Eleven, and to all the rest.
10 Toah kaom nongpatanawk thungah Meri Magdalene, Joanna, Jokob amno Meri hoi nihcae hoi nawnto kaom nongpatanawk athum o, nihcae mah patoeh ih kaminawk khaeah thuih pae o.
They were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them, who told these things to the apostles.
11 Toe nihcae mah thuih pae o ih loknawk to amsawn ah poek o pongah, nongpatanawk ih lok to nihcae mah tang pae o ai.
But their words seemed to them like nonsense, and they disbelieved them.
12 Piter loe angthawk moe, taprong ah cawnh; bih tathuk moe, khet naah, anih ayawhaih puu kahni khue to a hnuk, anih mah to tiah kaom hmuen to hnuk naah dawnrai moe, im ah amlaem.
(But Peter had gotten up and run to the tomb, and stooping down he saw the linen strips lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened.)
13 Khenah, to na niah nihcae thung ih kami long hnetto loe, Jerusalem hoiah meng sarihto kangthla, Emmau, tiah kawk ih avang ah caeh hoi.
And then that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem.
14 A caeh hoi li naah toah kaom hmuen kawngnawk boih to a thuih hoi.
And they were conversing with each other about all that had happened.
15 Nihnik mah thuih hoi moe, poek hoi li naah, Jesu angmah roe to angzoh moe, nihnik hoi nawnto a caeh.
And then, as they were conversing and discussing, Jesus Himself came up and started going with them.
16 Toe nihnik mah Anih to panoek hoi han ai ah nihnik ih mik to amtuengsak ai.
But their eyes were restrained, in order that they not recognize Him.
17 Anih mah nihnik khaeah, Lam na caeh hoi naah tih lok maw na caep hoi moe, palung na set hoi? tiah a naa.
So He said to them, “What words are these that you are exchanging with one another as you walk, and are gloomy?”
18 Kleopa, tiah ahmin kaom kami mah anih khaeah, Jerusalem ah angvin ah na oh to mah, vaihi thuem ah kaom hmuen kawng to na panoek ai maw? tiah a naa.
Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, “Are you the only one living in Jerusalem who doesn't know the things that have happened there in these days?”
19 Anih mah nihnik khaeah, Tih hmuen kawngnawk maw? tiah a naa. Nihnik mah anih khaeah, Nazareth Jesu kawng, anih loe Sithaw hoi kaminawk boih hmaa ah thacakhaih hoiah toksak moe, lok a thuih.
He said to them, “What things?” So they said to Him: “The things concerning Jesus the Natsorean, how the man was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people,
20 Kalen koek qaima hoi aicae ukkungnawk mah anih to hum hanah paek o, anih loe thinglam pongah takhing o.
and how the chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be condemned to death, and they crucified him.
21 Toe kaicae mah loe anih loe Israel kaminawk akrang kami ni, tiah oephaih ka tawnh o: hae tiah kaom hmuen loe vaihni hoiah loe ni thumto oh boeh.
And we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel! Further, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened.
22 Ue, khawnthaw ah taprong ah kacaeh, kaicae thung ih thoemto nongpatanawk mah doeh dawn ang rai o sak;
Moreover certain women of our group astonished us—arriving early at the tomb,
23 nihcae mah anih ih qok to hnu o ai, nihcae im ah amlaem o naah, Anih loe hing let boeh, tiah thuikung van kaminawk to ka hnuk o, tiah a thuih o.
and not finding his body, they came saying that they had even seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive.
24 Kaicae thung ih thoemto kaminawk to taprong ah caeh o, nongpatanawk mah thuih o ih baktih toengah kaom hmuen to a hnuk o: toe Anih to hnu o ai, tiah thuih pae hoi.
And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but him they did not see.”
25 Anih mah nihnik khaeah, Kamthunawk, Tahmaanawk mah thuih o ih loknawk boih tang hanah rai o parai:
Then He said to them: “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the Prophets have spoken!
26 A lensawkhaih thungah akun hanah, Kri mah hae karai hmuennawk hae tongh mak ai maw? tiah a naa.
Was it really not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into His glory?”
27 Mosi hoi kamtong tahmaanawk boih mah thuih ih, Cabu thungah kaom Anih kawng thuih koehhaih loknawk boih to nihnik khaeah a thuih pae.
And beginning from Moses, and then all the Prophets, He explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
28 A caeh hoi han ih avang phak hoi tom naah, Anih loe avang to poeng hanah a poek.
Then they approached the village where they were going, and He made as though He would keep going.
29 Toe nihnik mah, Kaihnik hoi nawnto om ah: niduem boeh, kho doeh ving boeh, tiah anih to kaang pae hoi. To pongah anih loe nihnik hoi nawnto oh hanah a caeh.
But they constrained Him, saying, “Stay with us, because it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” So He went in to stay with them.
30 Anih buhcaak hanah nihnik hoi nawnto anghnut naah, takaw to a lak, oephaih lawkthuih moe, a aeh pacoengah, nihnik hanah a paek.
And then, as He was reclining with them, He took the bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them.
31 To naah a mik amtueng hoi moe, Anih to panoek hoi; anih loe nihnik khae hoiah anghmat pae ving.
Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He became invisible to them.
32 Loklam ah anih mah cabu thung ih loknawk aihnik khaeah thuih naah, aihnik ih palung loe hmai mah kang ih baktiah oh roe na ai maw? tiah maeto hoi maeto thuih hoi.
They said to one another, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He talked to us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”
33 Nihnik loe angthawk hoi moe, Jerusalem ah amlaem hoi, toah kami hatlaito hoi nawnto kaom kalah kaminawk to a hnuk hoi,
So they got up forthwith and returned to Jerusalem, where they found the Eleven gathered together; also those with them,
34 nihnik mah, Angraeng loe angthawk tangtang boeh, Simon khaeah amtueng pae, tiah a thuih hoi.
who said, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”
35 Nihnik mah loklam ah kaom hmuennawk, takaw a aeh naah Anih panoek hoi haih kawngnawk to nihcae khaeah thuih pae hoi.
Then they described what happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of the bread.
36 To loknawk a thuih o li naah, Jesu angmah roe to nihcae salakah angdoet, nihcae khaeah, Nangcae khaeah monghaih om nasoe, tiah a naa.
As they were saying these things, indeed, Jesus Himself stood in their midst, and He said to them, “Peace to you.”
37 Toe nihcae mah angpae o, zit o moe, ka hnuk o ih loe pakhra mue, tiah a poek o.
But they, terrified, supposed they were seeing a ghost, and were becoming fearful.
38 Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Tipongah na tasoeh o moe, palunghaenghaih na tawnh o loe?
And He said to them: “Why are you troubled?” and “Why do doubts arise in your hearts?
39 Ka ban hoi ka khok hae khen oh, kaimah boeh ni: na sui oh loe, khen oh; muithla loe ahuh hoi angan to om ai, toe nang hnuk o ih baktih toengah kai loe ahuh hoi angan ka tawnh, tiah a naa.
Look at my hands and feet; it is I myself! Feel me and see; a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.”
40 Hae tiah a thuih pacoengah, nihcae khaeah a ban hoi a khok to patuek pae.
And saying this He showed them His hands and His feet.
41 Nihcae loe anghoehaih hoi dawnraihaih hoiah oh o, to tiah kaom hmuen to tang o ai. Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Caak koi buh na tawnh o maw? tiah a naa.
But as they were still disbelieving and marveling, because of the joy, He said to them, “Do you have any food here?”
42 Nihcae mah anih hanah hmai pahaih ih tanga tetta hoi khoiphae maeto paek o.
So they gave Him a piece of broiled fish and some honeycomb.
43 Anih mah lak moe, nihcae hma ah caak pae.
And taking it He ate in their presence.
44 Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Nangcae hoi nawnto ka oh naah, Mosi ih kaalok, Tahmaanawk ih lok, Saam Cabu thungah tarik ih kai kawng loe akoep boih tih, tiah kang thuih o boeh to loe, tiah a naa.
Then He said to them, “These are the words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything that is written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning me must be fulfilled.”
45 Nihcae mah Cabu thung ih loknawk panoek o thai hanah, anih mah nihcae panoekhaih to paongh pae.
Then He opened their understanding so as to comprehend the Scriptures.
46 Nihcae khaeah, Kri loe patangkhang ueloe, ni thumto naah angthawk let tih, tiah tarik ih oh:
And He said to them: “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
47 dawnpakhuemhaih hoi zae tahmenhaih kawng to Jerusalem hoiah amtong ueloe, acaeng kaminawk boih khaeah, anih ih ahmin hoiah taphong o tih.
and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
48 Nangcae loe hae hmuennawk hnukung ah na oh o.
You are witnesses of these things.
49 Khenah, Kam Pa lokkamhaih nangcae nuiah kang patoeh: toe ranui bang thacakhaih na hak o ai karoek to, Jerusalem vangpui ah om oh, tiah a naa.
Take note, I am sending the Promise of my Father upon you; but you must stay in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on High.”
50 Anih mah nihcae to Bethany vangpui ah caeh haih, a ban to payangh moe, nihcae to tahamhoihaih a paek.
He led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up His hands He blessed them.
51 Nihcae tahamhoihaih paek nathuem ah, van ah lak tahang boeh pongah, nihcae to a caehtaak.
And it happened, as He was blessing them, that He left them and was carried up into heaven.
52 Nihcae mah anih to bok o, paroeai anghoehaih hoiah Jerusalem ah amlaem o:
Worshiping Him, they returned to Jerusalem with great joy;
53 nihcae loe tempul thungah oh o poe, Sithaw to saphaw o moe, tahamhoihaih paek o. Amen.
and they were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
