< Luka 13 >

1 To naah thoemto kaminawk mah anih khaeah, Pilat mah Sithaw bokhaih moi hoiah thoemto Kalili kaminawk ih athii to abaeh, tiah thuih pae o.
Now there were some present at that very season which told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, To tiah raihaih a tongh o pongah, hae Kalili kaminawk loe kalah Kalili kaminawk boih pongah kanung kue zaehaih sah kami ah oh o, tiah na poek o maw?
And he answered and said unto them, Think ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they have suffered these things?
3 Kang thuih o, to tiah na ai ni; na dawnpakhuem o ai nahaeloe, to tiah nam ro o boih tih.
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all in like manner perish.
4 To tih ai boeh loe Siloam imsang amtimh naah taeh maat ih kami hatlai tazetto oh o, nihcae loe Jerusalem ah kaom kaminawk boih pongah kanung kue zaehaih sah kami ah oh o, tiah na poek o maw?
Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them, think ye that they were offenders above all the men that dwell in Jerusalem?
5 Kang thuih o, to tiah na ai ni; na dawnpakhuem o ai nahaeloe, to tiah nam ro o boih tih, tiah a naa.
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
6 Anih mah hae patahhaih lok doeh a thuih pae: Kami maeto mah takha thungah thaiduet kung maeto tling; anih loe thaiduet thaih pakhrik hanah caeh, toe athaih tidoeh hnu ai.
And he spake this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came seeking fruit thereon, and found none.
7 To naah angmah ih takhatoep kami khaeah, Khenah, saning thumto thung hae thaiduet kung pong ih athaih pakhrik hanah kang zoh, toe athaih tidoeh ka hnu ai: pakhru ving halat ah; long amrosak han ih khue ni a oh, tiah a naa.
And he said unto the vinedresser, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why doth it also cumber the ground?
8 Takhatoep kami mah anih khaeah, Angraeng, vaining saning loe to tiah om na rae soe, akung taeng boih to ka takaeh moe, long kahoih ka paek noek han:
And he answering saith unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9 athaih athai nahaeloe hoih: toe athai ai nahaeloe, to naah na pakruk han hmang, tiah a naa, tiah a thuih pae.
and if it bear fruit thenceforth, [well]; but if not, thou shalt cut it down.
10 Anih loe Sabbath niah Sineko maeto thungah patuk.
And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath day.
11 Khenah, to ah muithla sae mah saning hatlai tazetto angoisak ih nongpata maeto oh, nongpata loe kaengkuu moe, katoengah angdoe thai ai.
And behold, a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years; and she was bowed together, and could in no wise lift herself up.
12 Jesu mah to nongpata to hnuk naah, angmah khaeah a kawk moe, anih khaeah, Nongpata, na ngoihaih loe hoih boeh, tiah a naa.
And when Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.
13 Jesu mah a nuiah bankoeng pae; to naah nongpata loe katoengah angdoet thai roep, to pacoengah Sithaw to pakoeh.
And he laid his hands upon her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
14 Jesu mah Sabbath niah ngantuisak pongah, Sineko ukkung loe palungphui moe, kaminawk khaeah, Toksak hanah ni tarukto oh: to na atue ah angzo o ah loe ngantui o sak ah, Sabbath niah na ai, tiah a naa.
And the ruler of the synagogue, being moved with indignation because Jesus had healed on the sabbath, answered and said to the multitude, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the day of the sabbath.
15 Angraeng mah to kami khaeah, Nangcae angsah thaih kaminawk! Sabbath niah maitaw maw, to tih ai boeh loe laa hrang maw tui naeksak hanah na hoi o ai maw?
But the Lord answered him, and said, Ye hypocrites, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
16 Khenah, Abraham ih canu ah kaom, hae nongpata loe muithla sae mah saning hatlai tazetto thung taoengh boeh, anih to Sabbath niah khramh pae hanah hoih ai maw? tiah a naa.
And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound, lo, [these] eighteen years, to have been loosed from this bond on the day of the sabbath?
17 Anih mah hae loknawk thuih naah, anih ih misanawk boih azathaih tongh o: anih mah sak ih kalen hmuennawk nuiah kaminawk boih anghoe o.
And as he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame: and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
18 Anih mah, Sithaw prae loe tih hoiah maw anghmong? Tih hoiah maw ka patah han? tiah a naa.
He said therefore, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I liken it?
19 Sithaw prae loe kami maeto mah, antam mu to lak moe, angmah ih takha thungah haeh ih hoiah anghmong; to antam mu loe amprawk moe, kalen pui thingkung ah angcoeng; van ih tavaanawk loe tanghang nuiah acuk o, tiah a naa.
It is like unto a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his own garden; and it grew, and became a tree; and the birds of the heaven lodged in the branches thereof.
20 Anih mah, Sithaw prae loe tih hoiah maw ka patah han?
And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?
21 Van prae loe nongpata maeto mah taeh to lak moe, tui noekhaih boengloeng thumto kaom takaw thungah taeh phuih naah, taeh mah uengh ih takaw hoiah anghmong, tiah a thui pae.
It is like unto leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till it was all leavened.
22 Anih Jerusalem ah caeh naah, vangpui hoi vangtanawk ah, kaminawk to patuk.
And he went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and journeying on unto Jerusalem.
23 Kami maeto mah anih khaeah, Angraeng, kami zetta mah maw pahlonghaih hnu tih, tiah a naa. Anih mah nichae khaeah,
And one said unto him, Lord, are they few that be saved? And he said unto them,
24 loklam tamcaek khongkha thungah akun hanah tha pathok oh: kang thuih o, a thungah akun hanah pop parai kaminawk loe azom o tih, toe akun o thai mak ai.
Strive to enter in by the narrow door: for many, I say unto you, shall seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25 Im tawnkung mah angthawk moe, thok khah naah loe, tasa bangah nang doe o sut ueloe, thok to na takhuek o tih, Angraeng, Angraeng, thok na paong pae raeh, tiah na thui o tih; anih mah nangcae khaeah, Naa hoiah maw nang zoh o, kang panoek o ai, tiah na naa o tih:
When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, open to us; and he shall answer and say to you, I know you not whence ye are;
26 to naah nangcae mah, Kaicae loe Na hmaa ah buh ka caak o moe, ka naek o boeh, Nang mah kaicae hae patuk vai boeh, tiah na thui o tih.
then shall ye begin to say, We did eat and drink in thy presence, and thou didst teach in our streets;
27 Toe anih mah, Naa hoiah maw nang zoh o, kang panoek o ai; nangcae zaehaih sah kaminawk boih, kai khae hoi tacawt oh, tiah naa tih.
and he shall say, I tell you, I know not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
28 Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah uk ih prae ah Abraham, Isak, Jakob hoi tahmaanawk boih na hnuk o naah, nangcae loe tasa bangah va o tih, to ah qahhaih hoi haakaekhaih to om tih.
There shall be the weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and yourselves cast forth without.
29 To naah ni angzae, niduem, aluek, aloih bang hoiah kaminawk angzo o ueloe, Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah uk ih prae thungah anghnu o tih.
And they shall come from the east and west, and from the north and south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
30 Khenah, hnukkhuem kaminawk hmahmaan o ueloe, hmahmaan kaminawk hnukkhuem o tih, tiah a naa.
And behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.
31 To na niah thoemto Farasinawk angzoh o moe, anih khaeah, Hae ahmuen hoiah tacawt ah loe, caeh lai ah: Herod mah na hum tih boeh, tiah a thuih pae o.
In that very hour there came certain Pharisees, saying to him, Get thee out, and go hence: for Herod would fain kill thee.
32 Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Caeh oh loe, to tasui khaeah thui pae oh, Khenah, vaihni hoi khawnbangah taqawknawk to ka haek moe, nganna kaminawk ngan ka tuisak han, thumto niah loe akoep ah ka oh han boeh, tiah a thuih, tiah thui pae oh.
And he said unto them, Go and say to that fox, Behold, I cast out devils and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third [day] I am perfected.
33 Kawbangah doeh vaihni, khawnbang, omvaih khoek to kholong ka caeh han vop: tahmaa maeto loe Jerusalem tasa bangah dueh thai ai.
Howbeit I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the [day] following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
34 Aw Jerusalem, Jerusalem, tahmaanawk humkung, nang khaeah patoeh ih kaminawk thlung hoiah vakung; aapui mah a caanawk pakhraeh tlim ah taboksak baktih toengah, vai nazetto maw na caanawk nawnto pakhueng hanah koehhaih ka tawnh, toe na koeh ai!
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen [gathereth] her own brood under her wings, and ye would not!
35 Khenah, na im to caeh o taak ving boeh pongah, angqai krang boeh: loktang kang thuih o, Angraeng ih ahmin hoi angzo kami loe tahamhoih, tiah na thui o ai karoek to, kai nang hnu o mak ai boeh, tiah a naa.
Behold, your house is left unto you [desolate]: and I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until ye shall say, Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
