< Joshua 11 >

1 To hmuennawk kawng to Hazor siangpahrang Jabin mah thaih naah, Madon siangpahrang Jobab, Shimron siangpahrang hoi Akshaph siangpahrang khaeah,
When Jabin king of Hazor heard of it, he sent to Jobab king of Madon, to the king of Shimron, to the king of Achshaph,
2 mae ranui bangah kaom siangpahrang, Khinneroth aloih bang ih tangtling ah kaom siangpahrang, azawn ah kaom siangpahrang, niduem bangah kaom Dor prae siangpahrang,
and to the kings who were on the north, in the hill country, in the Arabah south of Chinneroth, in the lowland, and in the heights of Dor on the west,
3 ni angyae hoi niduem bangah kaom Kanaan kaminawk; Amor kaminawk, Hit kaminawk, Periz kaminawk, mae nuiah kaom Jebus kaminawk; Mizpah prae Hermon mae tlim ah kaom Hiv kaminawk khaeah kami patoeh.
to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite in the hill country, and the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpah.
4 To siangpahrangnawk loe paroeai pop kami, kroek laek ai tuipui taeng ih savuet zetto pop misatuh kaminawk, hrangnawk, hrang lakoknawk hoi nawnto angzoh o.
They went out, they and all their armies with them, many people, even as the sand that is on the seashore in multitude, with very many horses and chariots.
5 To siangpahrangnawk loe nawnto amkhueng o moe, Israel kaminawk tuk hanah Merom tui ohhaih ahmuen ah atai o.
All these kings met together; and they came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.
6 Angraeng mah Joshua khaeah, Nihcae to zii hmah; khawnbang vaihi atue phak naah, nihcae to Israel kaminawk hmaa ah, hum boih hanah kang paek han; nihcae ih hrang ih khok thaquinawk to aat paeh loe, hrang lakoknawk to hmai hoiah thlaek paeh, tiah a naa.
Yahweh said to Joshua, “Don’t be afraid because of them; for tomorrow at this time, I will deliver them up all slain before Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.”
7 To pongah Joshua hoi angmah ih misatuh kaminawk boih loe, Merom tui ohhaih ahmuen ah caeh o roep moe, nihcae to tuk o.
So Joshua came suddenly, with all the warriors, against them by the waters of Merom, and attacked them.
8 To naah Angraeng mah nihcae to Israel kaminawk ban ah paek; Israel kaminawk mah nihcae to pazawk o moe, Sidon-Rabbah vangpui, Misrephoth-Maim vangpui ni angyae bang ih Mizpah azawn karoek to patom o, maeto doeh pathlung ai ah hum o.
Yahweh delivered them into the hand of Israel, and they struck them, and chased them to great Sidon, and to Misrephoth Maim, and to the valley of Mizpah eastward. They struck them until they left them no one remaining.
9 Angraeng mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah Joshua mah nihcae nuiah sak; nihcae ih hrang khok thaqui to aah pae moe, hrang lakoknawk to hmai hoiah thlaek pae.
Joshua did to them as Yahweh told him. He hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots with fire.
10 Joshua loe amlaem let moe, Hazor vangpui to tuk; a siangpahrang to sumsen hoiah hum. Canghni ah Hazor vangpui loe to vangpuinawk boih ukkung lu koek ah oh.
Joshua turned back at that time, and took Hazor, and struck its king with the sword; for Hazor used to be the head of all those kingdoms.
11 To vangpui thungah kaom kaminawk to sumsen hoiah a hum moe, tamit boih; hinghaih katawn kami maeto doeh tahmat ai, Hazor vangpui doeh hmai hoiah a thlaek.
They struck all the souls who were in it with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them. There was no one left who breathed. He burned Hazor with fire.
12 Angraeng ih tamna Mosi mah paek ih lok baktih toengah, to siangpahrangnawk mah uk ih vangpui thungah kaom kaminawk hoi siangpahrangnawk boih Joshua mah tuk moe, sumsen hoiah hum king.
Joshua captured all the cities of those kings, with their kings, and he struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded.
13 Toe Israel kaminawk loe mae nuiah kaom vangpuinawk to hmai hoiah thlaek o ai; Hazor vangpui khue ni Joshua mah hmai hoiah thlaek.
But as for the cities that stood on their mounds, Israel burned none of them, except Hazor only. Joshua burned that.
14 Vangpui thung ih hmuennawk hoi maitawnawk loe Israel kaminawk mah angmacae hanah lak o; toe to kaminawk tamit boih ai karoek to sumsen hoiah hum o; hinghaih katawn kami maeto doeh pathlung o ai.
The children of Israel took all the plunder of these cities, with the livestock, as plunder for themselves; but every man they struck with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them. They didn’t leave any who breathed.
15 Angraeng mah a tamna Mosi khaeah paek ih lok baktih toengah, Joshua mah sak; Angraeng mah Mosi khaeah paek ih lok baktiah sak ai ih hmuen tidoeh om ai.
As Yahweh commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua. Joshua did so. He left nothing undone of all that Yahweh commanded Moses.
16 To pongah Joshua mah hae praennawk boih, mae nui ih prae, aloih bang ih prae, Goshen prae boih, azawn hoi tangtling ih ahmuen, Israel kaminawk ih mae hoi Israel kaminawk ih azawn,
So Joshua captured all that land, the hill country, all the South, all the land of Goshen, the lowland, the Arabah, the hill country of Israel, and the lowland of the same,
17 Seir mae caehhaih loklam ih Halak mae hoi Hermon mae tlim boih, Hermon mae tlim ah kaom Lebanon azawn ih Baal Gad karoek to a lak; nihcae ih siangpahrangnawk to pazawk moe, a hum boih.
from Mount Halak, that goes up to Seir, even to Baal Gad in the valley of Lebanon under Mount Hermon. He took all their kings, struck them, and put them to death.
18 Joshua loe to ih siangpahrangnawk hoiah atue kasawkah misa angtuk o.
Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.
19 Gibeon vangpui ah kaom Hiv kaminawk khue ai ah loe, Israel kaminawk hoi misa angdaehhaih sah vangpui maeto doeh om ai; kalah vangpuinawk to tuk moe, a lak boih.
There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, except the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon. They took all in battle.
20 Angraeng mah Mosi khaeah paek ih lok baktih toengah, tahmenhaih tawn ai ah, nihcae to tamit boih moe, maeto doeh tahmat han ai ah, Israel kaminawk hoi misa angtuk hanah Angraeng angmah nihcae to palung thahsak.
For it was of Yahweh to harden their hearts, to come against Israel in battle, that he might utterly destroy them, that they might have no favor, but that he might destroy them, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
21 To nathuem ah Joshua to caeh moe, Hebron, Debir, Anab, Judah mae nui boih, Israel mae nui boih ah kaom Anak kaminawk to hum boih; Joshua mah nihcae ohhaih vangpuinawk to phraek pae boih.
Joshua came at that time, and cut off the Anakim from the hill country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the hill country of Judah, and from all the hill country of Israel. Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities.
22 Israel prae thungah kaom Anak kami maeto doeh pathlung ai; Gaza, Gath hoi Ashdod vangpui ah khue ni kanghmat kami to oh.
There were none of the Anakim left in the land of the children of Israel. Only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, did some remain.
23 To pongah Joshua mah, Angraeng mah Mosi khaeah paek ih lok baktih toengah, prae to a lak boih; to praenawk to Israel acaeng kaminawk boih hanah qawk ah toepsak; to pacoengah loe prae thungah misatukhaih om ai boeh.
So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that Yahweh spoke to Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. Then the land had rest from war.
