1 Palung na boeng o han ai ah, hae loknawk hae kang thuih o.
“I have said these things to you so that you wouldn’t be caused to stumble.
2 Nihcae mah Sineko thung hoiah na haek o tih: ue, nangcae hum kami mah, kai loe Sithaw ih tok ni ka sak, tiah poekhaih atue to pha tih.
They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God.
3 Nihcae mah Pa hoi Kai to panoek o ai pongah, hae baktih toknawk nangcae nuiah sah o tih.
They will do these things because they have not known the Father nor me.
4 To baktih atue phak naah kang thuih o ih loknawk na panoek o thai hanah, kang thuih o coek boeh.
But I have told you these things so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you about them. I didn’t tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you.
5 Vaihi loe kai patoehkung Anih khaeah Ka caeh han boeh; mi mah doeh naa ah maw na caeh han? tiah nang dueng o ai.
But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’
6 Nangcae khaeah hae tiah kang thuih o pongah, palung na set o.
But because I have told you these things, sorrow has filled your heart.
7 Toe loktang kang thuih o; Ka caeh ving hae nangcae hanah hoih: Ka caeh ving ai nahaeloe, Pathloepkung nangcae khaeah angzo mak ai; toe ka caeh ving nahaeloe, Anih to nangcae khaeah kang patoeh han.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
8 Anih angzoh naah anih mah long zaehaih, toenghaih hoi lokcaekhaih to panoeksak tih:
When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment;
9 nihcae mah Kai tang o ai pongah, zaehaih to amtuengsak tih;
about sin, because they don’t believe in me;
10 kam Pa khaeah Ka caeh moe, kai nang hnuk o han ai boeh pongah, toenghaih to amtuengsak tih;
about righteousness, because I am going to my Father, and you won’t see me any more;
11 long angraeng to lokcaek boeh pongah, lokcaekhaih to amtuengsak tih.
about judgment, because the prince of this world has been judged.
12 Nangcae khae thuih han ih lok oh mang vop, toe vaihi loe na panoek o thai ai vop.
“I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.
13 Toe loktang Muithla, Anih to angzoh naah loe, anih mah loktang boih to na patuk o tih: anih loe angmah koehah lokthui mak ai; anih mah loe a thaih ih lok to ni thui tih: to pacoengah angzo han koi hmuennawk to nangcae hanah patuek tih.
However, when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.
14 Anih mah kai ih hmuen to la ueloe, nangcae hanah patuek tih, to tiah Anih mah Kai to pakoeh tih.
He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine and will declare it to you.
15 Pa mah tawnh ih hmuen boih loe Kai ih ni: to pongah ni anih mah Kai ih hmuen to la ueloe, nangcae hanah patuek tih, tiah ka thuih.
All things that the Father has are mine; therefore I said that he takes of mine and will declare it to you.
16 Pa khaeah Ka caeh han boeh pongah, akra ai ah nangcae mah Kai nang hnu o mak ai boeh: akra ai ah Kai nang hnu o let tih, tiah a naa.
“A little while, and you will not see me. Again a little while, and you will see me.”
17 A hnukbang thoemtokaminawk mah, Pa khaeah Ka caeh han boeh pongah, akra ai ah Kai nang hnu o mak ai boeh: akra ai ah Kai nang hnu o let tih, tiah nang thuih ih lok loe tih thuih koehhaih ih maw?
Some of his disciples therefore said to one another, “What is this that he says to us, ‘A little while, and you won’t see me, and again a little while, and you will see me;’ and, ‘Because I go to the Father’?”
18 Akra ai ah, tiah a thuih ih lok loe tih thuih koehhaih ih maw? A thuih koehhaih lok a panoek o thai ai, tiah maeto hoi maeto a thuih o.
They said therefore, “What is this that he says, ‘A little while’? We don’t know what he is saying.”
19 Anih khaeah hae lok dueng han a koeh o, tiah Jesu mah panoek naah, nihcae khaeah, Akra ai ah Kai nang hnu o mak ai boeh: akra ai ah Kai nang hnu o let tih, tiah ka thuih ih lok pongah maw maeto hoi maeto lok nang dueng o?
Therefore Yeshua perceived that they wanted to ask him, and he said to them, “Do you inquire among yourselves concerning this, that I said, ‘A little while, and you won’t see me, and again a little while, and you will see me’?
20 Loktang to, loktang ah, kang thuih o, Long palung anghoe naah, nangcae palung na sae o ueloe, na qah o tih: palung na sae o tih, toe palung na set o haih to anghoehaih ah angcoeng tih.
Most certainly I tell you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.
21 Nongpata loe zokpomh, caa tapenhaih atue phak boeh pongah, palung a set: toe nawkta tapen pacoengah loe long ah kami maeto tapen boeh pongah, anih mah patangkhanghaih to pahnet moe, anghoe.
A woman, when she gives birth, has sorrow because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she doesn’t remember the anguish any more, for the joy that a human being is born into the world.
22 To baktih toengah vaihi palung na set o, toe kang hnuk o let naah loe, palung anghoehaih na tawn o tih, nang hoe o haih loe mi mah doeh nangcae khae hoi la thai mak ai.
Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.
23 To na niah loe Kai khaeah tidoeh nang hni o mak ai boeh. Loktang to, loktang ah, kang thuih o, Kai ih ahmin hoi Pa khaeah na hnik o ih hmuen boih Anih mah na paek o tih.
“In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.
24 Nangcae mah vaihi khoek to Kai ih ahmin hoiah tidoeh na hni o ai vop: nangcae anghoehaih akoep thai hanah, hni oh, na hnu o tih.
Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.
25 Patahhaih lok hoiah ni hae loknawk hae kang thuih o: toe patahhaih lok patoh ai ah, nangcae khaeah Pa kawng kamtueng ah thuihaih atue to pha tih.
“I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. But the time is coming when I will no more speak to you in figures of speech, but will tell you plainly about the Father.
26 To na niah loe Ka hmin hoiah nang hni o tih: nangcae han Pa khaeah kang hnik pae o han, tiah ka thuih koehhaih ih na ai ni.
In that day you will ask in my name; and I don’t say to you that I will pray to the Father for you,
27 Kai loe Sithaw khae hoiah ni kang zoh, tiah na tang o moe, kai nang palung o pongah, Pa angmah roe nangcae to palung.
for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came from God.
28 Kai loe Pa khae hoiah tacawt moe, long ah kang zoh: long hae Ka caehtaak moe, Pa khaeah Ka caeh let han, tiah a naa.
I came from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.”
29 A hnukbang kaminawk mah anih khaeah, Khenah, vaihi loe patahhaih lok hoi thui ai ah, kamtueng ah na thuih boeh.
His disciples said to him, “Behold, now you are speaking plainly, and using no figures of speech.
30 Hmuennawk boih na panoek, mi mah doeh nang khaeah lokdueng han angaih ai boeh, tiah vaihi ka panoek o boeh: hae kawng pongah nang loe Sithaw khae hoiah ni nang zoh, tiah ka tang o, tiah a naa o.
Now we know that you know all things, and don’t need for anyone to question you. By this we believe that you came from God.”
31 Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Vaihi loe na tang o boeh maw?
Yeshua answered them, “Do you now believe?
32 Khenah, nam praek o phang tih, nangmacae im ah na cawn o ueloe, kai nang caeh o taak suthaih atue to pha tih, ue, vaihi roe phak boeh: toe kai loe kaimah buengah ka om ai, Pa loe kai hoi nawnto oh.
Behold, the time is coming, yes, and has now come, that you will be scattered, everyone to his own place, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
33 Kai ah monghaih na tawnh o thai hanah, hae hmuennawk hae kang thuih o. Long nuiah raihaih na tong o tih: toe mawn o hmah, long hae ka pazawk boeh, tiah a naa.
I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.”
