< Johan 13 >

1 Misong loihhaih poih pha ai vop, Jesu mah hae long tacawt taak moe, Ampa khaeah caehhaih atue phak boeh, tiah panoek naah, long ah kaom angmah ih kaminawk khaeah, atue boeng khoek to amlunghaih to amtuengsak.
Now before the feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that his time had come that he would depart from this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
2 Duembuh caak pacoeng tom naah, Anih angphat taak hanah, Simon capa, Juda Iskariot ih palung thungah taqawk mah toksak pae.
During supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him,
3 Ampa mah hmuen boih anih ban ah paek boeh, anih loe Sithaw khae hoi angzoh moe, Sithaw khaeah caeh han oh boeh, tiah Jesu mah panoek;
Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came from God and was going to God,
4 anih loe duembuh caakhaih ahmuen hoiah angthawk moe, angmah ih kahni to angkhring, pavawh to lak moe, kaeng ah angzaeng.
arose from supper, and laid aside his outer garments. He took a towel and wrapped a towel around his waist.
5 To pacoengah sabae thuk thungah tui a lawn moe, a hnukbang kaminawk ih khok to pasaeh pae, to pacoengah kaeng ah angzaeng ih pavawh hoiah a huk pae.
Then he poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
6 Simon Piter khaeah phak naah loe, Piter mah anih khaeah, Angraeng, ka khok nang pasaeh pae han maw? tiah a naa.
Then he came to Simon Peter. He said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?”
7 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Vaihi ka sak ih tok hae na panoek thai mak ai; toe amzai ah ni na panoek vop tih, tiah a naa.
Jesus answered him, “You don’t know what I am doing now, but you will understand later.”
8 Piter mah anih khaeah, Ka khok hae natuek naah doeh na pasae mak ai, tiah a naa. Jesu mah anih khaeah, Kang pasae pae ai nahaeloe, kai ih kami ah na om mak ai, tiah a naa. (aiōn g165)
Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I don’t wash you, you have no part with me.” (aiōn g165)
9 Simon Piter mah anih khaeah, Angraeng, ka khok khue ai, ka ban hoi ka lu doeh pasae ngala ah, tiah a naa.
Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”
10 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Tui amhluh kami loe khok khue ni pasaeh han angaih, kalah takpum loe ciim boeh: nangcae loe na ciim o, toe na ciim o boih ai, tiah a naa.
Jesus said to him, “Someone who has bathed only needs to have his feet washed, but is completely clean. You are clean, but not all of you.”
11 Anih angphat taak han kami to anih mah panoek pongah, na ciim o boih ai, tiah a naa.
For he knew him who would betray him; therefore he said, “You are not all clean.”
12 Anih mah nihcae ih khok pasaeh pae pacoengah, angmah ih kahni to lak moe, anghnut let, anih mah nihcae khaeah, Nangcae khaeah ka sak ih hmuen hae na panoek o maw? tiah a naa.
So when he had washed their feet, put his outer garment back on, and sat down again, he said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?
13 Kai hae Patukkung, Angraeng, tiah nang kawk o: to tiah nang kawk o haih loe amsoem; kai loe to tiah ni ka oh roe.
You call me, ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord.’ You say so correctly, for so I am.
14 Kai loe nangcae Patukkung hoi Angraeng ah ka oh, toe khok kang pasaeh pae o baktih toengah, nangcae mah doeh maeto hoi maeto ih khok to pasae oh.
If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 Nangcae khae ka sak ih baktih toengah, na sak o toeng hanah, khet koi kaom hmuen kang patuek o boeh.
For I have given you an example, that you should also do as I have done to you.
16 Loktang to, loktang ah, kang thuih o, Tamna loe angmah ih angraeng pongah len kue ai; patoeh ih kami doeh patoehkung pongah len kue ai.
Most certainly I tell you, a servant is not greater than his lord, neither is one who is sent greater than he who sent him.
17 Hae hmuennawk hae na panoek o moe, na sak o nahaeloe, taham na hoih o.
If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
18 Nangcae boih ka thuih koeh ih na ai ni: ka qoih ih kaminawk loe ka panoek: Cabu akoep hanah, kai hoi nawnto buhcaa kami mah khok hoiah ang pathuih boeh.
I don’t speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.’
19 To baktih hmuen pha ai naah kang thuih o coek boeh, to tiah ni hae baktih hmuen phak naah, Kai loe Anih boeh ni, tiah na tang o thai tih.
From now on, I tell you before it happens, that when it happens, you may believe that I am he.
20 Loktang to, loktang ah, kang thuih o, Ka patoeh ih kami talawk kami loe, kai talawk kami ah oh, Kai talawk kami loe Kai patoehkung talawk kami ah oh, tiah a naa.
Most certainly I tell you, he who receives whomever I send, receives me; and he who receives me, receives him who sent me.”
21 Hae lok a thuih pacoengah, Jesu loe dawnrai hoiah oh; Loktang to, loktang ah, kang thuih o, Nangcae thung ih kami maeto mah kai angphat taak tih, tiah a naa.
When Jesus had said this, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”
22 To naah a hnukbang kaminawk mah, Mi thuih koehhaih ih maw, tiah poek o moe, maeto hoi maeto ang khet o.
The disciples looked at one another, perplexed about whom he spoke.
23 A hnukbang kaminawk thungah Jesu mah palung ih kami maeto loe, Jesu ih saoek nuiah amha.
One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was at the table, leaning against Jesus’ chest.
24 Simon Piter mah saoek ah amha a hnukbang kami khaeah, Jesu mah thuih ih lok loe mi thuih koehhaih ih maw dueng noek ah, tiah a naa.
Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, and said to him, “Tell us who it is of whom he speaks.”
25 To naah Jesu ih saoek ah amha kami mah anih khaeah, Angraeng, to kami loe mi aa? tiah dueng.
He, leaning back, as he was, on Jesus’ chest, asked him, “Lord, who is it?”
26 Jesu mah, Sabae thungah takaw ka nup moe, ka paek ih kami to ni, tiah a naa. To pacoengah Anih mah sabae thungah takaw to nup moe, Simon capa, Juda Iskariot hanah paek.
Jesus therefore answered, “It is he to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it.” So when he had dipped the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.
27 Takaw nup pacoengah, anih takoh thungah Setan akun. To pacoengah Jesu mah anih khaeah, Na sak han koi hmuen to karangah sah lai ah, tiah a naa.
After the piece of bread, then Satan entered into him. Then Jesus said to him, “What you do, do quickly.”
28 Tipongah maw anih hanah to tiah lok a thuih pae, tito toah buhcaa kami maeto mah doeh panoek o ai.
Now nobody at the table knew why he said this to him.
29 Nihcae thung ih thoemto kaminawk mah Judah loe phoisa pakuemkung ah oh pongah, poihsak hanah hmuenmae qan han ih a thuih pae kalang mue, to tih ai boeh loe kamtang kaminawk paek hanah hmuenmae a qansak mue, tiah poek o.
For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus said to him, “Buy what things we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.
30 Takaw lak pacoengah, anih loe tasa bangah tacawt roep; to naah khoving boeh.
Therefore having received that morsel, he went out immediately. It was night.
31 Juda tasa bang tacawt pacoengah, Jesu mah, Kami Capa loe vaihi pakoeh ah oh boeh, Anih pongah Sithaw doeh pakoeh ah oh.
When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him.
32 Anih pongah Sithaw pakoeh ah om nahaeloe, anih pongah Sithaw Angmah to doeh pakoeh ah om ueloe, akra ai ah Anih to pakoeh roep tih boeh.
If God has been glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him immediately.
Little children, I will be with you a little while longer. You will seek me, and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you can’t come,’ so now I tell you.
34 Kaalok kangtha kang paek o, maeto hoi maeto amlung oh; kang palung o baktih toengah, nangcae doeh maeto hoi maeto amlung oh.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.
35 Maeto hoi maeto nam lung o naah ni, kaminawk boih mah nangcae loe kai hnukah bang kaminawk ni, tiah panoek o tih, tiah a naa.
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
36 Simon Piter mah anih khaeah, Angraeng, naa ah maw na caeh han? tiah a naa. Jesu mah anih khaeah, Vaihi ka caehhaih ahmuen ah nang zo o thai mak ai, toe hae pacoengah ni nang zo o thai vop tih, tiah pathim pae.
Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus answered, “Where I am going, you can’t follow now, but you will follow afterwards.”
37 Piter mah anih khaeah, Angraeng, tipongah vaihi kang zo o thai mak ai loe? Nang pongah ka hinghaih ka vah han, tiah a naa.
Peter said to him, “Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”
38 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Kai pongah na hinghaih na vah han maw? Loktang to, loktang ah, kang thuih, Aakhong ai na ah, vai thumto kai nang phat taak tih, tiah pathim pae.
Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your life for me? Most certainly I tell you, the rooster won’t crow until you have denied me three times.
