< Johan 11 >

1 Lazaru, tiah kawk ih kami loe ngannat, anih loe Meri hoi amnawk Martha ohhaih Bethani avang ih kami ah oh.
Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, of the village of Mary and her sister Martha.
2 (To Meri loe nganna Lazaru ih tanuh ah oh moe, Angraeng ih khok to hmuihoih tui hoiah bawh moe, a sam hoiah anih ih khok hmawt pae kami ah oh.)
And it was that Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.
3 To pongah a tanuh hnik mah Anih khaeah, Angraeng, khenah, na palung ih kami loe ngannat, tiah lok a pat pae hoi.
The sisters therefore sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
4 To lok to Jesu mah thaih naah, Hae nathaih loe duek han khoek to om ai, toe Sithaw lensawkhaih amtueng han ih ni oh, hae nathaih rang hoiah lensawk Sithaw Capa amtuenghaih to om tih, tiah a naa.
But when Jesus heard it, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified thereby.
5 Jesu mah Martha, anih ih amnawk hoi Lazaru to palung.
Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
6 Lazaru ngannat ti, tiah Anih mah thaih pacoengah, anih loe a ohhaih ahmuen ah ni hnetto thung cam vop.
When therefore he heard that he was sick, he abode at that time two days in the place where he was.
7 To pacoengah a hnukbang kaminawk khaeah, Jerusalem ah caeh o let si boeh, tiah a naa.
Then after this he saith to the disciples, Let us go into Judæa again.
8 A hnukbang kaminawk mah Anih khaeah, Rabbi, canghni pangah ni Judahnawk mah thlung hoi vah hanah Ang pakrong o; to ahmuen ah Na caeh let han maw? tiah a naa o.
The disciples say unto him, Rabbi, the Jews were but now seeking to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
9 Jesu mah, Nito naah atue hatlai hnetto om ai maw? Mi kawbaktih doeh khodai ah caeh kami loe, hae long aanghaih to a hnuk pongah amthaek ai.
Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If a man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
10 Toe khoving ah caeh kami loe, aanghaih om ai pongah, amthaek, tiah a naa.
But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because the light is not in him.
11 Anih mah nihcae khaeah, Hae loknawk thuih pacoengah, Aicae ampui Lazaru loe a iih; toe Ka caeh moe, Ka pathawk han, tiah a naa.
These things spake he: and after this he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus is fallen asleep; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
12 Anih hnukbang kaminawk mah, Angraeng, anih iip nahaeloe hoi tih, tiah a naa o.
The disciples therefore said unto him, Lord, if he is fallen asleep, he will recover.
13 Jesu mah Lazaru loe duek boeh, tiah thuih koehhaih ih ni, toe nihcae mah loe iih rumramhaih mue a thuih, tiah poek o.
Now Jesus had spoken of his death: but they thought that he spake of taking rest in sleep.
14 To pacoengah Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Lazaru loe duek boeh, tiah kamnoek ah thuih pae.
Then Jesus therefore said unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
15 Na tang o thai hanah, to ahmuen ah ka om ai pongah, nangcae hanah anghoehaih ka tawnh; vaihi anih khaeah caeh o si, tiah a naa.
And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.
16 To naah Didymas, tiah kawk ih, Thomas mah a hnukbang ampuinawk khaeah, aicae doeh anih hoi nawnto duek hanah caeh o toeng si, tiah a naa.
Thomas therefore, who is called Didymus, said unto his fellow-disciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.
17 Jesu phak naah, anih aphumhaih ni palito oh boeh, tito Anih mah panoek.
So when Jesus came, he found that he had been in the tomb four days already.
18 Bethani loe Jerusalem hoiah meng hnetto oh duih.
Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off;
19 Nihnik ih thangqoi to duek pae boeh pongah, pathloep hanah paroeai Judahnawk Martha hoi Meri khaeah caeh o.
and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary, to console them concerning their brother.
20 Jesu angzoh ti, tiah Martha mah thaih naah, Anih dawt hanah a caeh: toe Meri loe im ah oh.
Martha therefore, when she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary still sat in the house.
21 Martha mah Jesu khaeah, Angraeng, haeah na oh nahaeloe, ka thangqoi hae dueh mak ai.
Martha therefore said unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
22 Toe vaihi doeh Sithaw khaeah na hnik ih hmuen boih loe, Sithaw mah na paek tih, tiah ka panoek, tiah a naa.
And even now I know that, whatsoever thou shalt ask of God, God will give thee.
23 Jesu mah nongpata khaeah, Na thangqoi loe angthawk let tih, tiah a naa.
Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
24 Martha mah anih khaeah, Hnukkhuem angthawk lethaih niah loe anih angthawk let tih, tiah ka panoek, tiah a naa.
Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
25 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Kai loe angthawk lethaih hoi hinghaih ah Ka oh: Kai tang kami loe, dueh cadoeh, hing tih:
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth on me, though he die, yet shall he live;
26 mi kawbaktih doeh Kai tanghaih hoiah khosah kami loe natuek naah doeh dueh mak ai. Hae lok hae na tang maw? tiah a naa. (aiōn g165)
and whosoever liveth and believeth on me shall never die. Believest thou this? (aiōn g165)
27 Nongpata mah Anih khaeah, Ue, Angraeng: Nang loe Kri ni, long nuiah angzo han koi, Sithaw Capa ah na oh, tito Ka tang, tiah a naa.
She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I have believed that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, [even] he that cometh into the world.
28 To tiah lok cae a thuih pacoengah, Martha loe caeh moe, tamquta hoi amnawk Meri to kawk, Patukkung, angzoh boeh, nang ang kawksak, tiah a naa.
And when she had said this, she went away, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Teacher is here, and calleth thee.
29 Meri mah to lok to thaih naah, karangah angthawk moe, Anih khaeah caeh.
And she, when she heard it, arose quickly, and went unto him.
30 To naah Jesu loe avang thungah akun ai vop, Anih loe Martha mah dawthaih ahmuen ah ni oh vop.
(Now Jesus was not yet come into the village, but was still in the place where Martha met him.)
31 Meri pathloep hanah im ah kangzo Judahnawk loe, karangah angthawk o moe, tasa bangah tacawt Meri to hnuk o naah, qah han ih mue taprong ah a caeh, tiah poek o pongah, anih hnukah bang o.
The Jews then who were with her in the house, and were consoling her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up quickly and went out, followed her, supposing that she was going unto the tomb to weep there.
32 Meri loe Jesu ohhaih ahmuen to phak moe, Anih to hnuk naah, a khokkung ah cangkrawn moe, Anih khaeah, Angraeng, haeah na oh nahaeloe, ka thangqoi hae dueh mak ai, tiah a naa.
Mary therefore, when she came where Jesus was, and saw him, fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
33 Anih qahhaih hoi anih hoi nawnto kangzo Judahnawk qahhaih to Jesu mah hnuk naah, palungset moe, poek angpho,
When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews [also] weeping who came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,
34 anih mah naa ah maw a qok to na pasong o? tiah a naa. Nihcae mah anih khaeah, Angraeng, angzo ah loe khenah, tiah a naa o.
and said, Where have ye laid him? They say unto him, Lord, come and see.
35 Jesu qah.
Jesus wept.
36 Judah kaminawk mah, Khen oh, Anih mah kawkrukmaw Lazaru to palung, tiah thuih o.
The Jews therefore said, Behold how he loved him!
37 Nihcae thung ih thoemto kaminawk mah, Mikmaeng mik amtuengsak, hae kami mah Lazaru duek han ai ah sah thai mak ai maw? tiah thuih o.
But some of them said, Could not this man, who opened the eyes of him that was blind, have caused that this man also should not die?
38 To pongah Jesu loe palungset hoiah taprong ah caeh. Taprong loe thlung khaw ah oh pongah, akhaw to thlung hoiah kraeng o.
Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the tomb. Now it was a cave, and a stone lay against it.
39 Jesu mah, Thlung to takhoe oh, tiah a naa. Toe kadueh kami ih tanuh Martha mah, Anih khaeah, Vaihi loe anih ih qok hmuisae tih boeh, aphumhaih ni palito oh boeh, tiah a naa.
Jesus saith, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time the body decayeth; for he hath been [dead] four days.
40 Jesu mah anih khaeah, Na tang nahaeloe, Sithaw lensawkhaih na hnu tih, tiah kang thuih boeh na ai maw? tiah a naa.
Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou believedst, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
41 To naah qok pasonghaih taprong thlung to takhoe pae o. Jesu mah van ah doeng tahang moe, Pa, Ka lok nang tahngaih pae pongah, kawnhaih lok kang thuih.
So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou heardest me.
42 Ka lok nang tahngaih pae toepsoep, tiah ka panoek: toe haeah angdoe kaminawk mah, Kai loe Nang mah ni patoeh, tiah tang o thai han ih ni, hae lok hae ka thuih, tiah a naa.
And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the multitude that standeth around I said it, that they may believe that thou didst send me.
43 Hae lok a thuih pacoengah, Lazaru, tacawt ah, tiah tha hoi a hang.
And when he had thus spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
44 To naah kadueh kami to tacawt, a ban hoi a khok loe kadueh khukhaih kahni mah zaeng caeng: mikhmai doeh pavawh mah khuk khoep. Jesu mah nihcae khaeah, Anih to khram oh, caeh nasoe, tiah a naa.
He that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave-clothes; and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
45 Jesu mah sak ih hmuen to, Meri pathloep han angzo paroeai Judahnawk mah hnuk o naah, Anih to tang o.
Many therefore of the Jews, who came to Mary and beheld that which he did, believed on him.
46 Toe nihcae thung ih thoemto kaminawk loe Farasinawk khaeah caeh o moe, Jesu mah sak ih hmuennawk to thuih pae o.
But some of them went away to the Pharisees, and told them the things which Jesus had done.
47 To naah kalen koek qaima hoi Farasinawk nawnto amkhueng o, Hae kami mah paroeai dawnrai hmuennawk sak boeh pongah, timaw a sak o han?
The chief priests therefore and the Pharisees gathered a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many signs.
48 Anih hae hae tiah prawtsut nahaeloe, kaminawk mah anih hae tang o boih tih boeh: to naah Rom kaminawk angzo o ueloe, aicae ih ahmuen hoi acaeng to la o tih boeh, tiah thuih o.
If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.
49 To naah nihcae thung ih kami, to na saning ah kalen koek qaima toksah Kaiapha mah, nihcae khaeah, Tidoeh na panoek o ai,
But a certain one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
50 acaeng boih anghmat pongah loe, kaminawk hanah kami maeto duek to hoih kue, tiah a naa.
nor do ye take account that it is expedient for you that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
51 Anih mah hae lok hae angmah koeh ah thui ai: to na saning ah kalen koek qaima ah a oh baktih toengah, acaeng taham ah Jesu dueh tih, tiah anih mah taphong coek boeh;
Now this he said not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for the nation;
52 to acaengnawk han khue ai, prae kalah ah ampraek phang, Sithaw ih caanawk doeh maeto ah angcusak hanah thuih ih lok ah doeh oh.
and not for the nation only, but that he might also gather together into one the children of God that are scattered abroad.
53 To na ni hoi kamtong nihcae loe nawnto amkhueng o moe, Anih hum hanah pacaeng o.
So from that day forth they took counsel that they might put him to death.
54 To pongah Jesu loe Judahnawk salakah kamtuengah caeh ai; praezaek taengah kaom, Ephraim, tiah kawk ih avang taengah a caeh moe, to ah a hnukbang kaminawk hoi nawnto oh.
Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews, but departed thence into the country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim; and there he tarried with the disciples.
55 Judahnawk misong loihaih poih loe anghnai boeh: to poih sah ai naah, amprikcai o hanah, paroeai kaminawk loe angmacae avang hoiah Jerusalem ah caeh o.
Now the passover of the Jews was at hand: and many went up to Jerusalem out of the country before the passover, to purify themselves.
56 Nihcae mah Jesu to pakrong o, nihcae tempul thungah angdoet o naah, kawbangmaw na poek o? Anih poihkung ah angzo mak ai maw? tiah maeto hoi maeto angdueng o.
They sought therefore for Jesus, and spake one with another, as they stood in the temple, What think ye? That he will not come to the feast?
57 Kalen koek qaima hoi Farasinawk mah, Mi kawbaktih doeh Anih ohhaih panoek kami loe, Anih to a naeh o thai hanah, a ohhaih ahmuen to patuek han angaih, tiah lokpaek o.
Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given commandment, that, if any man knew where he was, he should show it, that they might take him.
