< Job 40 >

1 Angraeng mah Job khaeah,
Moreover, the LORD answered Job, and said,
2 thacak Angraeng mah thuitaek ih kami loe lok angaek vop tih maw? Sithaw kasaethui kami mah pathim nasoe, tiah a naa.
Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct [him]? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
3 To naah Job mah, Angraeng khaeah,
Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
4 Khenah, kai loe tidoeh avang ai kami ah ka oh; kawbangmaw nang kang pathim thai tih? Ka ban hoiah pakha ka tamuep khoep han boeh.
Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay my hand upon my mouth.
5 Lok vaito ka thuih, toe ka pathim mak ai: ue, vai hnetto ka thuih moeng boeh; toe ka thui let mak ai boeh.
Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yes, twice; but I will proceed no further.
6 To naah Angraeng mah takhi thung hoiah Job khaeah,
Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
7 nongpa baktiah kaengkaeh to angzaeng ah; kang dueng ih lok hae na pathim ah.
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou to me.
8 Ka lokcaekhaih na phraek han maw? Na toeng thai hanah, kai zaehaih nang net han maw?
Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
9 Sithaw baktiah ban na tawnh maw? Anih baktiah khopazih tuen na tacawtsak thai maw?
Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like his?
10 Na tacawtsak thaih nahaeloe, lensawkhaih hoi azathaih to angkhuk ah loe, lensawkhaih hoi kranghoihhaih hoiah amthoep ah.
Deck thyself now [with] majesty and excellence; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
11 Palung na phuihaih to pakhrawt ah; amoek kaminawk to khenh loe, pahnaem tathuk ah.
Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one [that is] proud, and abase him.
12 Amoek kaminawk to khenh loe, ahnaemsak ah; kasae kaminawk to angmacae angdoethaih ahmuen ah atii ah.
Look on every one [that is] proud, [and] bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
13 Nihcae to maiphu thungah nawnto aphum ah, nihcae ih mikhmai to khoving thungah khuk ah.
Hide them in the dust together; bind their faces in secret.
14 To tiah na sak nahaeloe na bantang mah nangmah to pahlong thai tih, tiah ka thuih han, tiah a naa.
Then will I also confess to thee that thy own right hand can save thee.
15 Nang hoi nawnto ka sak ih, Behemoth to khenah, anih loe maitaw baktiah qam to caak.
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 Khenah, anih thacakhaih loe kaeng ah oh moe, a zok hin ah doeh thacakhaih to oh.
Lo now, his strength [is] in his loins, and his force [is] in the navel of his belly.
17 Anih ih tamai loe Sidar thing baktiah ahaek, a phaih thaquinawk loe nawnto angbok.
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his male organs are wrapped together.
18 Anih ih ahuhnawk loe sumboeng kamling baktiah oh moe, anih ih panakhuhnawk loe sum baktiah oh.
His bones [are as] strong pieces of brass; his bones [are] like bars of iron.
19 Anih loe Sithaw mah sak ih hmuen thungah hmaloe koekah oh; toe anih sahkung mah anih to angmah ih sumsen hoiah hmang tih.
He [is] the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach [him].
20 Mae nuiah kapra moi loe anih ih rawkcaak ah oh, taw ih moinawk loe to ahmuen ah prat o boih.
Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 Anih loe kahoih tahlip thingkung tlim ah tabok moe, tangnong ohhaih ahmuen ah kamprawk akung tlim ah anghawk.
He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 To thingkung tahlip mah anih to khuk moe, vacong ah kamprawk akungnawk mah anih to takui o khoep.
The shady trees cover him [with] their shadow; the willows of the brook encompass him.
23 Khenah, anih loe kalen tuipui to tiah doeh sah ai; Jordan vapui anih ih pakha khoek to pha aep to mah angoephaih to a tawnh.
Behold, he drinketh up a river, [and] hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
24 Anih to naeh thai tih maw? Thaang pongah amansak ueloe, a hnah to daw pae thai tih maw?
He taketh it with his eyes: [his] nose pierceth through snares.
