< Kolosa 3 >

1 Kri hoi nawnto nang thawk o boeh nahaeloe, Sithaw bantang bangah anghnu Kri ohhaih, ranui ah kaom hmuennawk to pakrong oh.
Since, therefore, you were raised to life with the Christ, seek for the things that are above; for it is there that the Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
2 Long ah kaom hmuennawk to poek o hmah, ranui bang ih hmuennawk to poek oh.
Fix your thoughts on the things that are above, not on those that are on earth.
3 Nangcae loe na duek o boeh, na hing o haih loe Kri hoi nawnto Sithaw ah hawk ving boeh.
For you died, and your life now lies hidden, with the Christ, in God.
4 Aicae hinghaih Kri to amtueng naah loe, nangcae doeh lensawkhaih hoiah anih hoi nawnto nam tueng o toeng tih.
When the Christ, who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
5 To pongah long ah kaom na takpum tanghangnawk to paduek oh; nongpa nongpata zae sakhaih, ciimcai ai ah khosakhaih, angsum thai ai ah ohhaih, hmuen kasae sak koehhaih hoi kamthlai koeh hmoekhaih loe krang bokhaih ah ni oh:
Therefore destroy all that is earthly in you – immorality, uncleanness, passions, evil desires, and that greed which is idolatry.
6 to baktih hmuennawk pongah ni lok tahngai ai kaminawk nuiah Sithaw palungphuihaih to phak:
These are the things because of which the wrath of God comes,
7 nangcae doeh canghniah to baktih hmuen thungah na caeh o moe, to tiah kho na sak o.
and to which you, like others, once devoted your lives, when you lived for them.
8 Toe palungphuihaih, poek amthuenghaih, uthaih, kasae thuihaih, panuet kathok lok apaehhaihnawk boih to vaihi toengh o lai ah.
You, however, must now lay aside all such things – anger, passion, malice, slander, abuse.
9 Maeto hoi maeto khaeah lok amlai o hmah, kangquem kami loe a toksakhaih hoiah nawnto nang khring o ving boeh;
Never lie to one another. Get rid of your old self and its habits,
10 Anih Sahkung hoi kanghmong krang baktih toengah, panoekhaih hoiah angthasak ih kami kangtha to angkhuk oh:
and clothe yourselves with that new self, which, as it gains in knowledge, is being constantly renewed in resemblance to him who made it.
11 to baktih kangtha ah sak ih hmuen ah loe, Grik kami, Judah kami, tangzat hin aat kami, tangzat hin aat ai kami, tuinuen sae kami, Scythia kami, misong ah kaom kami hoi kaloih kami, tiah om ai: Kri loe hmuen boih akoephaih ah oh moe, hmuennawk boih nuiah oh.
In that new life there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all! – and in all!
12 To pongah, nangcae loe Sithaw mah qoih ih kami, kaciim kami hoi palung ih kami ah na oh o baktih toengah, minawk tahmenhaih, minawk taham poekhaih, kami tlim ah khosakhaih, tuinom ohhaih, palungsawkhaihnawk to angkhuk oh;
Therefore, as God’s people, consecrated and dear to him, clothe yourselves with tenderness of heart, kindliness, humility, gentleness, forbearance;
13 maeto hoi maeto lok angaekhaih om nahaeloe, maeto hoi maeto sakpazaehaih to tahmen oh: Kri mah nangcae tahmen baktih toengah, na sak o toeng han oh.
bearing with one another, and, when there is any ground for complaint, forgiving one another freely. As the Master freely forgave you, so you must forgive one another.
14 Hae baktih hmuennawk boih pacoengah akoephaih ah kaom, amlunghaih to angkhuk oh.
Over all these virtues put on love; for that is the belt which makes all complete.
15 Sithaw monghaih mah nangcae ih palungthin to uk nasoe, to tiah oh han ih ni takpum maeto ah ang kawk o; kawnhaih lawk thuih koehhaih palung to tawn oh.
Let the peace that the Christ gives decide all doubts within your hearts; for you also were called to the enjoyment of peace as members of one body. And show yourselves thankful.
16 Nangcae ih palung thungah Kri ih tamthanglok koi aep nasoe, palunghahaih boih hoiah maeto hoi maeto amtuk oh loe, ang thuitaek oh; Saam laa, pakoehhaih laa hoi Muithla laanawk to poeknaemhaih hoiah Angraeng khaeah sah oh.
Let the message of the Christ be alive in your minds in all its wealth, bringing all wisdom with it. Teach and admonish one another with psalms, and hymns, and sacred songs, full of the loving kindness of God, lifting your hearts in song to him.
17 Lokthuih naah maw, to tih ai boeh loe toksak naah, Angraeng Jesu ih ahmin hoiah sah o boih ah; Anih rang hoiah Ampa Sithaw khaeah anghoehaih lawk to thui oh.
And, whatever you say or do, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus; and through him offer thanksgiving to God the father.
18 Zunawk, Angraeng ih kami ah na oh o baktih toengah, na savanawk khaeah angpaek oh.
Wives, submit to your husbands, as befits those who belong to the Lord.
19 Savanawk, na zunawk to palung oh, zoeh o hmah.
Husbands, love your wives, and never treat them harshly.
20 Caanawk, hmuennawk boih ah nam no hoi nam pa ih lok to tahngai oh, hae loe Angraeng mah koeh ih hmuen ah oh.
Children, always obey your parents; for that is pleasant to see in those who belong to the Lord.
21 Ampanawk, na caanawk palungphui hanah sah o hmah, to tiah na sak o nahaeloe, nihcae palung na boeng o sak moeng tih.
Fathers, never irritate your children, otherwise they might become disheartened.
22 Tamnanawk, Sithaw zii oh loe, minawk khet kamcuk ah, minawk palung anghoesak han ih khue na ai ah, palung tang hoiah tok to sah oh, hmuennawk boih ah nangmacae ukkung angraeng ih lok to tahngai oh:
Slaves, always obey your earthly masters, not only when their eyes are on you, as if you had but to please people alone, but giving them ungrudging service, in your respect for the Master.
23 kawbaktih tok na sak o naah doeh, kami han sak pae ih baktih na ai ah, Angraeng han sak ih baktiah, palung tang hoiah sah oh;
Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as if working for the Master and not for people,
24 Angraeng Kri ih tok to na sak o pongah, Angraeng khae hoiah qawktoep han koi tangqum to na hnu o tih, tito panoek oh.
since you know that it is from the Master that you will receive the inheritance which will be your reward. You are serving Christ, the Master.
25 Toe kahoih ai hmuen sah kami loe, hmuen sakpazaehaih atho to hnu tih: kami mikhmai khethaih om mak ai.
Those who do wrong will reap the wrong they have done; and there will be no partiality.
