1 Lokpunghaih boeng pacoengah, Pawl mah hnukbang kaminawk to kawk moe, thapaekhaih lok a thuih pae; nihcae ban sin pacoengah, Macedonia prae ah a caeh.
When the uproar had ceased, Paul sent for the disciples, and, with encouraging words, bade them goodbye, and started on his journey to Macedonia.
2 To prae to caeh takui pacoengah, toah kaom kaminawk hanah thapaekhaih lok a thuih pae, to pacoengah Grik prae ah a caeh.
After going through those districts and speaking many encouraging words to the disciples, he went into Greece, where he stayed three months.
3 Toah khrah thumto a cam. Anih loe Syria prae ah caeh hanah amsak, toe Judahnawk mah anih to angang o pongah, Macedonia prae bang hoi amlaem let hanah a poek.
He was about to sail to Syria, when he learned that a plot had been laid against him by several of the Jewish leaders; so he decided to return by way of Macedonia.
4 Berea vangpui kami, Sopater mah anih to Asia ah caeh haih, Aristarka hoi Thessalonika vangpui ih Senkunda, Derbe vangpui ih Kaia hoi Timote, Asia prae ih Tykhika hoi Trophima cae doeh athum o toeng.
He was accompanied by Sopater the son of Pyrrhus, of Beroea, Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica, Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy, as well as by Tychicus and Trophimus of Roman Asia.
5 Hae kaminawk loe caeh o hmaloe moe, Troas vangpui ah kaicae ang zing o.
These people went to Troas and waited for us there;
6 Toe taeh thuh ai ih takawcakhaih poih boeng naah loe, Philippi vangpui hoi palong hoiah ka caeh o, ni pangato naah Troas to ka phak o, to vangpui ah ni tarukto ka cam o.
while we ourselves sailed from Philippi after the Passover, and joined them five days later at Troas, where we stayed for a week.
7 Ni tarukto thung ni hmaloe koekah loe, takaw a-aeh hanah hnukbang kaminawk nawnto amkhueng o; Pawl loe khawnbangah kholong caeh amsak pongah, qum taning khoek to lok a thuih.
On the first day of the week, when we had met for the breaking of bread, Paul, who was intending to leave the next day, began to address those who were present, and prolonged his address until midnight.
8 Nihcae nawnto amkhuenghaih im ranui ah loe hmai-im to oh mangh.
There were a good many lamps in the upstairs room, where we had met;
9 To naah Eutika, tiah ahmin kaom thendoeng maeto loe thokbuem taengah anghnut moe, iih angam; Pawl mah lokthuih li naah, anih loe iih ving, to tiah anih loe im ranui asom thumto hoiah krak tathuk, anih ih kadueh qok to akhuih o.
and a young man named Eutychus, sitting at the window, was gradually overcome with great drowsiness, as Paul continued his address. At last, quite overpowered by his drowsiness, he fell from the third story to the ground, and was picked up for dead.
10 Pawl loe anghum tathuk moe, thendoeng to tapom, mawn o hmah, a hinghaih oh vop, tiah a naa.
But Paul went down, threw himself on him, and put his arms around him. “Do not be alarmed,” he said, “he is still alive.”
11 To pacoengah im ranui asom ah caeh tahang, takaw to a-aeh moe, a caak o, khodai khoek to lokthuih pacoengah, kholong ah a caeh.
Then he went upstairs; and, after breaking and partaking of the bread, he talked with them at great length until daybreak, and then left.
12 Kaminawk mah thendoeng to kahing ah im ranui ah caeh o haih, nihcae loe toah kamong ah oh o.
Meanwhile they had taken the lad away alive, and were greatly comforted.
13 Kaicae loe Assos vangpui ah kacaeh palong hoiah ka caeh o hmaloe, toah Pawl hoi nawnto palong hoi caeh hanah kam sak o, toe Pawl loe to vangpui karoek to khok hoi caeh hanah amsak.
We started first, went on board ship, and sailed for Assos, intending to take Paul on board there. This was by his own arrangement, as he intended to go by land himself.
14 Anih hoi Asso vangpui ah kang qum o naah, anih to kalak o moe, Mytilene vangpui ah palong hoiah ka caeh o.
So, when he met us at Assos, we took him on board and went on to Mitylene.
15 To vangpui hoiah palong hoi ka caeh o moe, khawnbangah Kios vangpui to ka phak o; omvaih niah Samos vangpui to ka phak o, Trogyllium ah kang hak o moe, khawnbangah Mileta vangpui to ka phak o.
The day after we had sailed from there, we arrived off Chios, touched at Samos the following day, and the next day reached Miletus;
16 Pawl loe angcoeng thaih nahaeloe Pentecost ni pha ai naah Jerusalem vangpui to phak han koeh pongah, Asia prae ah atue patoh han koeh ai, to pongah Efisa vangpui ah cam ai ah, caeh poe han poekhaih a tawnh.
for Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so as to avoid spending much time in Roman Asia. He was making haste to reach Jerusalem, if possible, by the Festival at the close of the Harvest.
17 Efisa vangpui ih kricaabu zaehoikung kacoehtanawk anih khaeah angzoh o hanah, Pawl mah Miletus hoiah kami patoeh.
From Miletus, however, he sent to Ephesus and invited the church elders to meet him;
18 To kaminawk anih khae phak o naah, Pawl mah nihcae khaeah, Asia prae ah ka phak tangsuek nathuem hoi kamtong, vaihi karoek to nangcae salakah kawbangmaw kho ka sak,
and, when they came, he said to them, “You know well the life that I always led among you from the very first day that I set foot in Roman Asia,
19 kai loe poek pahnaemhaih, mikkhraetui paroeai longhaih, tanoekhaihnawk, Judahnawk mah kai hum han pacaenghaihnawk to ka tongh, to tiah kaom hmuen thung hoiah ni Angraeng ih tok ka sak, tito nang panoek o.
serving the Lord, as I did, in all humility, amid the tears and trials which fell to my lot through the plots of some of the Jewish leaders.
20 Nangcae han atho kaom hawk ih hmuen tidoeh om ai, kamtueng ah ni im maeto pacoeng maeto ah kang patuk o.
I never shrank from telling you anything that could be helpful to you, or from teaching you both in public and in private.
21 Sithaw ah dawnpakhuemhaih tawnh o moe, aicae Angraeng Jesu tanghaih a tawnh o thai hanah, Judah hoi Grik kaminawk khaeah lok ka thuih.
I earnestly pointed both Jews and Greeks to the repentance that leads to God, and to faith in Jesus, our Lord.
22 Khenah, Muithla mah pacaehaih rang hoiah vaihi Jerusalem ah ka caeh han, toah kawbaktih hmuen maw ka nuiah pha tih, tito ka panoek ai:
And now, under spiritual constraint, I am here on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there,
23 ka caeh ih vangpui kruekah, thongim krak moe, ka tongh han koi karai hmuennawk kawng to Kacai Muithla mah ang thuih.
except that in town after town the Holy Spirit plainly declares to me that imprisonment and troubles await me.
24 Toe Sithaw tahmenhaih, kahoih tamthanglok hae ka thuih moe, Angraeng Jesu khae hoi ka hnuk ih, ka sak han koi tok hae, anghoehaih hoiah ka sak thai hanah, pacaekthlaekhaihnawk loe tiah doeh ka poek ai, ka hinghaih doeh ka paawt ai.
But I count my life of no value to myself, if only I may complete the course marked out for me, and the task that was allotted me by the Lord Jesus – which was to declare the good news of the love of God.
25 Khenah, nangcae khae boih ah Sithaw ukhaih prae tamthanglok thuih hanah ka caeh boeh, vaihi mi mah doeh kai ih krang hnu o let mak ai boeh, tiah ka panoek.
And now, I tell you, I know that none of you will ever see my face again – you among whom I have gone about proclaiming the kingdom.
26 To pongah kai loe kaminawk boih ih athii hoiah ka ciim, tiah vaihniah kang thuih o.
Therefore I declare to you this day, that my conscience is clear in regard to the fate of any of you,
27 Angphat ai ah Sithaw koehhaih to nangcae khaeah kang thuih o boih boeh.
for I have not shrunk from announcing the whole purpose of God regarding you.
28 To pongah nangcae loe acoehaih hoiah khosah oh, Kacai Muithla mah khenzawnkung ah ang suek o baktih toengah, tuucaanawk boih to kahoihah khenzawn oh, angmah ih athii hoi qan tangcae ih Sithaw kricaabu khenzawnkung ah om oh.
Be watchful over yourselves, and over the whole flock, of which the Holy Spirit has placed you in charge, to shepherd the church of God, which he won for himself at the cost of his life.
29 Ka caeh pacoengah, nangcae salakah kasan tasuinawk angzo o tih, tuucaanawk to paquem o mak ai, tito ka panoek.
I know that, after my departure, merciless wolves will get in among you, who will not spare the flock;
30 Hnukbang kaminawk nihcae hnukah bangsak ving hanah, loklam amkhraenghaih lokthui kami loe, nangmacae thung hoiah ni tacawt tih.
and from among yourselves, too, people will arise, who will teach perversions of truth, so as to draw away the disciples after them.
31 To pongah acoehaih hoiah om oh, saning thumto thung aqum athun mikkhraetui hoiah kang patuk o ih lok to pahnet o hmah.
Therefore, be on your guard, remembering how for three years, night and day, I never ceased, even with tears, to warn each one of you.
32 Nawkamyanawk, vaihi angmah ih tahmenhaih lok hoiah Sithaw khaeah kang aap o, ciimcai kaminawk khae boih ah qawk paek hanah, to lok mah na qoeng o sak tih.
And now I commend you to the Lord and to the message of his love – a message which has the power to build up your characters, and to give you your place among all those who have become Christ’s people.
33 Kai loe minawk ih phoisa maw, to tih ai boeh loe sui maw, to tih ai boeh loe khukbuennawk maw khithaih ka tawn ai.
I have never coveted anyone’s gold or silver or clothing.
34 Ue, kaimah hoi kam puinawk angaihaih akoep thai hanah, kaimah ih ban hoiah ni tok ka sak, tito na panoek o.
You, yourselves, know that these hands of mine provided not only for my own wants, but for my companions also.
35 Hae tiah toksakhaih hoiah thazok kaminawk to na bomh o han angaih, tito kang patuek o boeh, Anih mah, Talawk pongah loe paek to tahamhoihhaih oh kue, tiah thuih: to tiah Angraeng Jesu mah thuih ih lok to pahnet o hmah.
I left nothing undone to show you that, laboring as I labored, you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said himself – ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
36 Hae loknawk a thuih boih pacoengah, nihcae boih hoi nawnto khokkhu cangkrawn o moe, lawk a thuih o.
When Paul had finished speaking, he knelt down and prayed with them all.
37 Nihcae loe qah o boih, Pawl to takop o moe, a mok o,
All were in tears; and throwing their arms around Paul’s neck, they kissed him again and again,
38 ka krang na hnu o let mak ai boeh, tiah a thuih ih lok pongah, nihcae loe paroeai palungset o. To pacoengah nihcae mah palong anghakhaih ahmuen karoek to thak o.
grieving most of all over what he had said – that they would never see his face again. Then they escorted him to the ship.
