1 Patoeh ih kaminawk hoi Judea prae thungah kaom nawkamyanawk loe Gentelnawk mah doeh Sithaw lok talawk o toeng boeh, tiah thaih o.
Now the Apostles and the brethren who were throughout Judaea heard that, the nations also, had welcomed the word of God.
2 Piter Jerusalem ah caeh naah, tangzat hin aat kaminawk mah anih khaeah,
And, when Peter came up unto Jerusalem, they of the circumcision began to find fault with him,
3 Tangzat hin aat ai kaminawk khaeah na caeh moe, nihcae hoi nawnto buh na caak, tiah naa o; to pongah anih to palungphui o thuih.
Saying—he went in unto men uncircumcised, and did eat with them.
4 Toe Piter mah to hmuen kawng to amtonghaih hoi boeng khoek to nihcae khaeah kamnoek ah a thuih pae.
But Peter, making a beginning, went on to set forth the matter unto them in order, saying—
5 Kai loe Joppa vangpui ah ka oh moe, lawk ka thuih, to naah hmuen hnuksakhaih maeto ka hnuk: kalen pui kahni baktiah kaom takii palito kaom hmuen maeto van bang hoiah kai khaeah krak tathuk:
I was in the city of Joppa praying, and saw in a trance, a vision: —coming down a sort of vessel, like a large sheet, by four corners, being let down out of heaven, and it came even unto me:
6 to tiah kaom hmuen to ka khet naah, long nuiah kaom akhok palito kaom moinawk, moisannawk, long ah kavak hmuennawk hoi van ah kazawk tavaanawk to ka hnuk.
Into which steadfastly looking, began to observe, and saw the quadrupeds of the earth, and the wild beasts, and the creeping things, and the birds of heaven.
7 To naah lok maeto ka thaih, to lok mah kai khaeah, Piter, angthawk ah, bop loe caa ah, tiah ang naa.
Moreover heard a voice also, saying unto me—Rise, Peter! slay and eat.
8 Toe kai mah, Angraeng, angcoeng thai ai: caak vai ai ih hmuen, to tih ai boeh loe ciimcai ai hmuen roe ka pakha thungah akun vai ai vop, tiah ka naa.
But I said—By no means, Lord, because, a common or unclean thing, hath at no time entered into my mouth.
9 Toe van bang ih lok mah, Sithaw mah ciimcaisak tangcae hmuen to, nang mah caak vai ai ih hmuen, tiah thuih han om ai, tiah ang naa.
And a voice answered, a second time, out of heaven—What things, God, hath cleansed, be not, thou, making common.
10 To tiah vaithumto oh pacoengah, to hmuennawk to van bangah lak tahang let.
And, this, took place thrice, —and the whole was drawn up again into heaven;
11 Khenah, to nathuem ah Caesarea vangpui hoiah kai khaeah patoeh ih kami long thumtonawk loe ka ohhaih im ah phak o boeh.
And lo! immediately, three men halted at the house wherein we were, sent from Caesarea unto me.
12 To pacoengah Kacai Muithla mah palunghaenghaih om ai ah, nihcae hoi nawnto caeh hanah ang thuih. Hae ih nawkamya taruktonawk doeh kai hoi nawnto caeh o toeng, to tiah kami maeto ih im ah ka kun o:
And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. And there went with me these six brethren also; and we entered into the house of the man,
13 to kami mah, Angmah im ah kangdoe van kami to a hnuk, van kami mah anih khaeah, Piter, tiah ahmin kaom Simon to kawk hanah, Joppa vangpui ah kami patoeh ah, tiah a thuih pae;
And he related to us how he had seen the messenger in his house, standing, and saying—Send away unto Joppa, and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter;
14 nangmah hoi nangmah imthung takoh boih pahlonghaih na hnuk o hanah, anih mah nang hanah loknawk na thui pae tih, tiah ang naa, tiah kaicae khaeah ang thuih.
Who shall speak words unto thee, whereby thou shall be saved, thou, and all thy house.
15 Lokthuih kam tong naah, tangsuek naah aicae khaeah krak baktih toengah, nihcae nuiah Kacai Muithla to krak toeng.
And, as I began to be speaking, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, just as upon us also at the beginning.
16 To naah Angraeng mah, Johan mah loe tui hoiah ni tuinuemhaih to paek, toe nangcae mah loe Kacai Muithla hoiah tuinuenhaih to na paek o tih, tiah thuih ih lok to ka panoek let.
And I was put in mind of the word of the Lord, how he used to say—John, indeed, immersed with water; but, ye, shall be immersed in Holy Spirit.
17 Aicae mah Angraeng Jesu Kri a tang o naah, Sithaw mah aicae khaeah paek ih tangqum baktih toengah, nihcae han doeh paek nahaeloe, kai mah kawbangah maw, Sithaw ih lok to ka aek thai tih? tiah a naa.
If therefore the like free-gift God gave unto them, as even unto us, when we had believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ, who was, I, that could withstand God?
18 To lok to a thaih o naah, nihcae loe anghngai o duem moe, Sithaw to saphaw o: to tiah nahaeloe Sithaw mah Gentelnawk han doeh hinghaih hnuk o hanah, dawnpakhuemhaih to paek boeh, tiah a thuih o.
And, having heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying—Hence, even unto the nations, God hath granted repentance unto life.
19 Stephen pongah pacaekthlaekhaih tongh pacoengah, ahmuen kruekah amhet kaminawk loe Phonicia, Cyprus hoi Antiok vangpui khoek to phak o, nihcae loe Judah kaminawk khae khue ah tamthanglok to thuih o.
They, therefore, who had been scattered abroad by reason of the tribulation that took place on account of Stephen, passed through as far as Phoenice and Cyprus and Antioch, unto no one speaking the word, save alone unto Jews.
20 Nihcae thungah Cyprus, Cyrene hoiah angzo thoemto kaminawk loe Antiok vangpui ah caeh o moe, Grik kaminawk khaeah Angraeng Jesu ih tamthanglok to thuih o.
And there were some from among them, Cyprians and Cyrenians, who, indeed, coming unto Antioch, began speaking, even unto the Grecian Jews, announcing the glad tidings as to the Lord Jesus;
21 Angraeng ih ban nihcae nuiah oh pongah, paroeai kaminawk mah tang o moe, Angraeng khaeah angqoi o.
And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number—they who believed—turned unto the Lord.
22 To tamthang to Jerusalem ah kaom kricanawk mah thaih o: to naah nihcae mah Barnabas to Antiok vangpui ah patoeh o.
And the matter was reported in the hearing of the assembly that was in Jerusalem, concerning them; and they sent forth Barnabas, as far as Antioch;
23 Anih to vangpui ah phak moe, Sithaw tahmenhaih to hnuk naah anghoehaih a tawnh; nihcae mah palungthin tang hoi kacakah Angraeng ah oh o poe thai hanah, nihcae boih khaeah thapaekhaih lok to a thuih pae.
Who, arriving, and seeing the favour which was of God, rejoiced, and went on to beseech all, with the purpose of their heart, to abide [in] the Lord;
24 Anih loe kahoih kami ah oh, Kacai Muithla hoi tanghaih hoiah koi kami ah oh: paroeai kaminawk loe Angraeng khaeah angqoi o.
Because he was a good man, and full of Holy Spirit and faith; and a considerable multitude were added unto the Lord.
25 To pacoengah Barnabas loe Saul to pakrong hanah, Tarsa vangpui ah caeh:
He went away, however, unto Tarsus, to seek up Saul;
26 Saul to a hnuk naah, anih to Antiok vangpui ah a hoih. Nihnik loe saningto thung kricanawk hoi nawnto angkom o moe, paroeai kaminawk to patuk hoi. Antiok vangpui ah kaom hnukbang kaminawk to Kricaa, tiah kawk o hmaloe.
And, finding him, he brought him unto Antioch. And so it was with them, that, for a whole year, they were brought together in the assembly, and taught a considerable multitude; also that the disciples, first in Antioch, were called, Christians.
27 To nathuem ah tahmaanawk loe Jerusalem hoiah Antiok vangpui ah caeh o.
Now, in these days, there came down from Jerusalem, prophets, unto Antioch.
28 Nihcae thung ih Agaba, tiah ahmin kaom kami maeto loe angthawk moe, Muithla panoeksakhaih rang hoiah long pum ah takaang thohhaih om tih, tiah taphong: to takaang thohhaih loe Klaudia Caesar ukhaih atue thungah oh)
And one from among them, by name Agabus, rising up, gave a sign, through means of the Spirit, that, a great famine, was coming over all the inhabited earth; which, indeed, came to pass under Claudius.
29 To pongah hnukbang kaminawk loe angmacae sak thaih thung Judea prae thungah kaom nawkamyanawk khaeah abomhaih paek hanah lokkhaeh o:
And, according as any one of the disciples was being prospered, they each one of them set apart [something] for ministering, to send unto the brethren, who dwelt in Jerusalem; —
30 to tiah a sak o pacoengah kacoehtanawk khaeah paek hanah, abomhaih tangqum to Barnaba hoi Saul ban ah paek o.
Which thing they also did, sending it unto the Elders, through the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
