< 2 Timote 1 >

1 Kri Jesu ah kahing lokkamhaih baktih toengah, Sithaw koehhaih hoiah Jesu Kri mah patoeh ih Pawl mah ca tarik,
To Timothy, my dear Child, from Paul who, by the will of God, is an Apostle of Christ Jesus, charged to proclaim the Life that comes from union with Christ Jesus.
2 palung ih ka capa, Timote khaeah, Ampa Sithaw, aicae Angraeng Kri Jesu khae hoi ih tahmenhaih, palungnathaih hoi monghaih om nasoe.
May God, the Father, and Christ Jesus, our Lord, bless you, and be merciful to you, and give you peace.
3 Kam panawk mah bok o ih baktih toengah, poekcimhaih hoiah a tok ka sak pae ih Sithaw khaeah oephaih ka tawnh, aqum athun apet ai ah nang han lawk kang thuih pae;
I am thankful to God, whom I serve, as my ancestors did, with a clear conscience, when I remember you, as I never fail to do, in my prayers — night and day alike,
4 mikkhraetui na longhaih to ka pahnet ai, anghoehaih hoiah ka koi thai hanah, nang hnuk han ka koeh parai;
as I think of your tears, longing to see you, that my happiness may be completed,
5 nang thungah kaom tanghaih tangtang loe nam sae Loisi hoi nam no Euni khaeah oh hmaloe, tito ka panoek, to tanghaih loe nang thungah doeh oh, tiah ka tang.
now that I have been reminded of the sincere faith that you have shown. That faith was seen first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and is now, I am convinced, in you also.
6 Na nuiah ka ban koenghaih hoiah na hnuk ih Sithaw tangqum to na patoh hanah kang thaisak.
And that is my reason for reminding you to stir into flame that gift of God, which is yours through your ordination at my hands.
7 Sithaw mah aicae han zithaih palungthin to paek ai; toe thacakhaih, amlunghaih, kahoih poekhaihnawk ni paek.
For the Spirit which God gave us was not a spirit of cowardice, but a spirit of power, love, and self-control.
8 To pongah aicae Angraeng ih lok taphonghaih to azat haih hmah loe, anih ih thongkrah kami kai doeh azat haih hmah: Sithaw thacakhaih baktiah kahoih tamthanglok pongah pacaekthlaekhaih tong kami ah om ah.
Do not, therefore, be ashamed of the testimony which we have to bear to our Lord, nor yet of me who am a prisoner for him; but join with me in suffering for the Good News, as far as God enables you.
9 Anih loe aicae toksakhaih rang hoiah na ai, long om ai nathuem hoi Kri Jesu ah aicae han paek ih, angmah ih atimhaih hoi tahmenhaih baktih toengah ni, aicae hae pahlong moe, kaciim kawkhaih hoiah ang kawk, (aiōnios g166)
It was God who saved us, and from him we received our solemn Call — not as a reward for anything that we had done, but in fulfilment of his own loving purpose. For that love was extended to us, through Christ Jesus, before time began, (aiōnios g166)
10 toe vaihi loe aicae pahlongkung Jesu Kri amtuenghaih hoiah panoeksak boeh, anih mah duekhaih to phraek moe, hinghaih to paek boeh, kahoih tamthanglok rang hoiah anghma thai ai aanghaih thungah a caeh haih boeh:
and has now been made apparent through the Appearing of our Saviour, Christ Jesus; who has made an end of Death, and has brought Life and Immortality to light by that Good News,
11 to kahoih tamthanglok to panoeksak hanah, kai hae tamthanglok thuikung, patoeh ih kami, Gentelnawk patukkung ah ang suek.
of which I was myself appointed a Herald and Apostle, and Teacher.
12 To pongah ni hae baktih patangkhanghaih hae ka tongh: toe ka zat ai: mi maw ka tang, tito ka panoek, anih khaeah kang aap baktih toengah, Anih loe to na Ni phak karoek to pakuem thaih, tiah oephaih ka tawnh.
That is why I am undergoing these sufferings; yet I feel no shame, for I know in whom I have put my faith, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until ‘That Day.’
13 Tanghaih hoi amlunghaih loe Kri Jesu ah oh, tiah panoekhaih hoiah kai khae hoi na thaih ih katoeng patukhaih lok to kacakah patawn ah.
Keep before you, as an example of sound teaching, all that you learnt from me as you listened with that faith and love which come from union with Christ Jesus.
14 Nang khaeah kang aap ih kahoih hmuen to aicae thungah kaom Kacai Muithla rang hoiah pakuem ah.
Guard by the help of the Holy Spirit, who is within us, the glorious trust that has been committed to you.
15 Asia prae ah kaom kaminawk boih mah kai ang caeh o taak, tito na panoek; nihcae thungah Phygellu hoi Hermoge athum hoi.
You know, of course, that all our friends in Roman Asia turned their backs on me, and among them Phygellus and Hermogenes.
16 Angraeng mah Onesiphora imthung takoh nuiah palungnathaih tawn nasoe; anih mah loe tha ang paek toepsoep, sumqui hoi pathlet ah ka oh naah doeh na zat haih ai:
May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus; for he often cheered me and was not ashamed of my chains.
17 Rom vangpui ah ka oh naah, anih mah kai hnu ai karoek to ang pakrong.
On the contrary, when he arrived in Rome, he sought eagerly for me till he found me.
18 To na Niah anih mah Angraeng palungnathaih hnuk thai hanah, Angraeng khaeah lawk ka thuih pae: Efisa vangpui ah ka oh naah, kawkruk maw anih mah kai ang khetzawn, tito kahoih ah na panoek.
The Lord grant that he may find mercy at the hands of the Lord on ‘That Day.’ The many services that he rendered at Ephesus you have the best means of knowing.
