Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Your servant my husband is dead; and you know that your servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor has come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.
2 Elisha mah anih khaeah, Timaw kang bom thai han? Na imthung ah timaw na tawnh, na thui ah, tiah a naa. Na tamna loe hae ih situi zetta ai ah loe, tidoeh ka tawn ai, tiah a naa.
And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for you? tell me, what have you in the house? And she said, your handmaid has not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.
3 Elisha mah, Caeh ah loe, na imtaeng kaminawk boih khaeah, laom akok to tlai ah, zetta tlai hmah.
Then he said, Go, borrow you vessels abroad of all your neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.
4 Na imthung ah akun naah, na caanawk boih hoi nawnto thok to ang khaa o khoep ah; na tlai ih laom akoknawk boih ah situi to lawn ah, kakoi tangcae laomnawk to ahmuen kalah ah pahung oh, tiah a naa.
And when you are come in, you shall shut the door upon you and upon your sons, and shall pour out into all those vessels, and you shall set aside that which is full.
5 Nongpata loe anih khae hoiah tacawt moe, laom akok kasin a capa hnik hoi nawnto imthung ah akun; thok to khah o moe, nongpata mah situi to lawn.
So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.
6 Laomnawk situi koi boih pacoengah, a capa khaeah, Kalah laom maeto na paek let raeh, tiah a naa. Toe anih mah, Laom akok om ai boeh, tiah a naa. To naah situi doeh boeng roep.
And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.
7 Nongpata loe Sithaw kami khaeah caeh, to naah anih mah, Caeh ah, situi to zawh loe, na tawnh ih laiba to pathok ah; kamthlai to nangmah hoi na caa hnik hanah suem ah, tiah a naa.
Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt, and live you and your children of the rest.
8 Nito naah Elisha loe Shunam vangpui ah caeh; to vangpui ah paroeai ahmin kamthang nongpata maeto oh; to nongpata mah Elisha to buhcaak hanah kang khruek. To tiah oh pongah, anih Shuman vangpui ah phak kruek, to nongpata im ah buhcaak hanah a caeh.
And it fell upon a certain day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as often as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.
9 Nongpata mah angmah ih sava khaeah, Khenah, hae loklam ah angzo toepsoep kami loe, kaciim Sithaw ih kami ni, tiah ka panoek, tiah a naa.
And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passes by us continually.
10 Imphu nuiah anih han imkhaan maeto sah pae si loe, angsonghaih ihkhun maeto hoi caboi maeto, anghnuthaih hoi hmaithawk maeto suem pae si; to tiah ni anih aihnik khaeah angzoh kruek, to imkhaan ah om thai tih, tiah a naa.
Let us make a little chamber, I pray you, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he comes to us, that he shall turn in thither.
11 Nito naah Elisha loe angzoh moe, to imkhaan thungah angsong.
And it fell upon a certain day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.
12 To naah Elisha mah a tamna Gehazi khaeah, Shunam vangpui ih nongpata to kawksak. A tamna mah kawk pae baktih toengah, nongpata loe anih hmaa ah angdoet.
And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.
13 Elisha mah Gehazi khaeah, Khenah, kaihnik hae hae tih khoek to nang khetzawn; timaw kang sak pae han? Siangpahrang khaeah maw, to tih ai boeh loe misatuh angraeng khaeah maw hmuen kang hnik pae han? tiah nongpata khaeah a naa. To naah nongpata mah, Kai loe kaimah ih acaengnawk khaeah ni ka oh, tiah a naa.
And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, you have been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for you? would you be spoken in order to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.
14 Elisha mah Gehazi khaeah, hae nongpata han timaw sin pae nahaeloe hoi tih? tiah a dueng. To naah Gehazi mah, hae nongpata loe caa tawn ai, a sava doeh mitong boeh, tiah a naa.
And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she has no child, and her husband is old.
15 To naah Elisha mah, Nongpata to kawk ah, tiah a naa. Anih mah nongpata to kawk pae. Nongpata loe thok taengah angdoet.
And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.
16 Elisha mah, Hmabang saning hae atue phak naah, ca nongpa maeto na sah tih, tiah a naa. Toe nongpata mah, To tih na ai, Ka angraeng, Sithaw ih kami, na tamna khaeah amsawnlok thui hmah, tiah a naa.
And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, you shall embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, you man of God, do not lie unto your handmaid.
17 Nongpata loe zokpomh moe, Elisha mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, saning akoep naah, capa nongpa maeto sak.
And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.
18 Nawkta loe qoeng tahang, nito naah anih loe cang aahhaih ahmuen ah ampa khaeah caeh.
And when the child was grown, it fell upon a certain day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.
19 Ampa khaeah, Kai ih lu, kai ih lu, tiah a naa. Ampa mah a tamna maeto khaeah, Amno khaeah caeh haih ah, tiah a naa.
And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.
20 A tamna mah nawkta to, amno khaeah caeh haih, nawkta loe amno ih phaih nuiah athun karoek to anghnut pacoengah duek ving.
And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.
21 Amno mah nawkta to lak moe, Sithaw kami angsonghaih ihkhun nuiah pasong pacoengah, thok khah moe, a caehtaak.
And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.
22 A sava to kawk moe, anih khaeah, Na tamna maeto hoi hrang maeto na patoeh ah; Sithaw kami khaeah ka caeh moe, karangah kam laem let han, tiah a naa.
And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray you, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.
23 A sava mah, Tipongah vaihniah anih khaeah na caeh han loe? Khrah kangtha na ai, Sabbath ni doeh na ai, tiah a naa. Toe a zu mah, Hoih tih hmang, tiah a naa.
And he said, Wherefore will you go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.
24 LTo pacoengah nongpata loe laa hrang nuiah angthueng moe, a tamna khaeah, Mongh ah, hmabang caeh poe ah; lok kang thui ai karoek to anghak hmah, tiah a naa.
Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not your riding for me, except I bid you.
25 To pongah nongpata loe Sithaw kami ohhaih Karmel mae ah caeh. Sithaw kami mah nongpata to ahmuen kangthla hoiah hnuk naah, a tamna, Gehazi khaeah, Khenah, Shunam vangpui ih nongpata angzoh.
So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her far off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:
26 Anih hnuk hanah vaihi cawn ah loe, Ngantui maw? Na sava ngantui maw? Na caa ngantui maw? tiah lok tapring ah, tiah a naa.
Run now, I pray you, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with you? is it well with your husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well:
27 Sithaw kami ohhaih mae nuiah phak naah, nongpata mah tahmaa ih khok to patawnh pae; Gehazi loe nongpata ih ban takhoe pae ving hanah caeh; toe Sithaw kami mah, Nongpata to pakaa hmah, anih loe palungsethaih hoiah ni oh; Angraeng mah kai khaeah na thui ai, na panoeksak ai, tiah a naa.
And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the LORD has hid it from me, and has not told me.
28 Nongpata mah, ka angraeng nang khaeah capa kang hnik maw? Kai khaeah amsawnlok thui hmah, tiah kang thuih na ai maw? tiah a naa.
Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?
29 Elisha mah, Gehazi khaeah, Kazii angzaeng ah; kai ih cunghet to sinh loe, cawn ah; loklam ah kami nang qum cadoeh lok tapring hmah, kami mah lok na tapring cadoeh, pathim hmah; kai ih cunghet hae nawkta ih mikhmai ah koeng paeh, tiah a naa.
Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up your loins, and take my staff in your hand, and go your way: if you meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute you, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.
30 Toe nawkta amno mah, Angraeng loe hing moe, nang na hing baktih toengah, nang hae kang caehtaak mak ai, tiah a naa. To pongah anih loe angthawk moe, nongpata hnukah bang.
And the mother of the child said, As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. And he arose, and followed her.
31 Gehazi loe hmaloe ah caeh moe, cunghet to nawkta ih mikhmai nuiah koeng pae; toe nawkta loe lok apae ai, lok doeh pathim ai. To pongah Gehazi loe Elisha khaeah amlaem let moe, anih khaeah, nawkta loe angthawk ai vop, tiah a naa.
And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.
32 Elisha im ah phak naah, Khenah, nawkta loe duek boeh pongah, anih ih ihkhun nuiah pasong pae boeh.
And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed.
33 Anih loe athung ah akunh, angmahnik bueng ni imthung ah oh hoi; thok to a khah hoi pacoengah, Angraeng khaeah lawkthuih hoi.
He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them two, and prayed unto the LORD.
34 Tahmaa loe caeh tahang moe, nawkta to takop; anih ih pakha hoiah pakha; a mik hoiah a mik; a ban nuiah a ban to payangh moe, nawkta nuiah tabok naah, nawkta ih tak to bet let.
And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.
35 Elisha loe angzoh let moe, imthung ah ahnuk ahmaa amkaeh, a caeh tahang let moe, nawkta nuiah tabok let; to naah nawkta loe vai sarihto pasih moe, mik padai.
Then he returned, and walked in the house back and forth; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.
36 Elisha mah Gehazi to kawk moe, Shunam nongpata to kawksak. To pongah anih mah nongpata to kawk pae. Nongpata anih khaeah phak naah, Elisha mah, Na capa hae la lai ah, tiah a naa.
And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up your son.
37 Nongpata loe imthung ah akun moe, a khokkung ah tabok pacoengah, long ah akuep tathuk; a capa to lak moe, a caeh.
Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.
38 Elisha Gilgal ah amlaem let naah, prae thungah khokhahaih to oh; tahmaanawk ih caanawk loe anih hmaa ah nghnut o; anih mah a tamna khaeah, Kalen parai long laom to khoeng ah loe, tahmaanawk is caanawk hanah aan to thong paeh, tiah a naa.
And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and there was a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets.
39 Kami maeto loe aan lak hanah taw ah caeh naah, kamzam tangzunkung to a hnuk; taw ih tuidue thaih to daengkraem koiah pakhrik; amlaem moe, aan thonghaih laom thungah a thuh; mi mah doeh kawbaktih aan maw tito panoek o ai.
And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not.
40 Kaminawk mah caak o hanah aan to soh pae o; nihcae mah aan to caak o naah, Aw Sithaw kami nang, laom thungah duekhaih to oh, tiah a naa o. Nihcae mah caa o thai ai.
So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O you man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.
41 Elisha mah, Takaw dip to sin oh; tiah a naa. Laom thungah a thuh pae; to pacoengah kaminawk mah caak o hanah sok pae oh, tiah a naa. To naah loe kaminawk han zitthok duekhaih to loam thungah om ai boeh.
But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.
42 Baal-Shalisha ih kami maeto loe angzoh moe, a aah tangsuek ih barli cang hoiah sak ih takaw phaek pumphaeto, Sithaw kami hanah sinh pae. Elisha mah, Kaminawk mah caak o hanah paek ah, tiah a naa.
And there came a man from Baalshalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the first-fruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.
43 A tamna mah, kawbangmaw hae khue hae kami cumvaito hmaa ah ka patoem pae thai tih? tiah a naa. Toe Elishah mah, Kaminawk mah caak o hanah patoem paeh, tiah a naa. Angraeng mah, Nihcae caak boep o pacoengah, amtlai vop tih, tiah thui boeh, tiah a naa.
And his personal attendant said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus says the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof.
44 To pacoengah anih mah kaminawk hmaa ah patoemh pae; nihcae mah caak o pacoengah, Angraeng ih lok baktih toengah, amtlai pok vop.
So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of the LORD.
