ᏣᏂ ᏔᎵᏁ ᎤᏬᏪᎳᏅᎯ 1
1 ᎠᏴ ᎠᏆᏛᏐᏅᎯ ᏫᏥᏲᎵᎦ ᎠᎦᏑᏰᏛ ᎠᎨᏴ ᎠᎴ ᎾᏍᎩ ᏧᏪᏥ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎦᏥᎨᏳᎢ ᏚᏳᎪᏛ ᎨᏒᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᎥᏝ ᎠᏋᏒᏉ ᏱᎩ ᎾᏍᏉᏍᎩᏂ ᏂᎦᏛ ᎤᏂᎦᏙᎥᏒᎯ ᏚᏳᎪᏛ ᎨᏒᎢ;
The elder to the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who know the truth,
because of the truth that abides in us, and will be with us into the age. (aiōn g165)
3 ᎬᏩᎦᏗᏯ ᎤᏓᏙᎵᏍᏗ ᎨᏒᎢ ᎢᏤᎳᏗᏙᎮᏍᏗ ᎠᎴ ᎤᏓᏙᎵᏍᏗ ᎨᏒᎢ ᎠᎴ ᏅᏩᏙᎯᏯᏛ ᎨᏒᎢ, ᏅᏓᏳᎾᎵᏍᎪᎸᏔᏅᎯ ᎤᏁᎳᏅᎯ ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨᎢ ᎠᎴ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᏥᏌ ᎦᎶᏁᏛ ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨ ᎤᏪᏥ, ᏚᏳᎪᏛ ᎨᏒᎢ ᎠᎴ ᎠᏓᎨᏳᏗ ᎨᏒᎢ.
Grace, mercy, peace will be with us from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
4 ᎤᏣᏔᏅᎯ ᎠᏆᎵᎮᎵᏨᎩ ᎠᏆᏙᎴᎰᏒ ᎢᎦᏛ ᏗᏤᏥ ᏚᏳᎪᏛ ᎨᏒ ᎠᎾᎢᏒᎢ, ᎾᏍᎩᏯ ᏗᎧᎿᎭᏩᏛᏍᏗ ᎢᎩᏁᎸ ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨᎢ.
I rejoice exceedingly that I have found of thy children walking in truth, just as we received commandment from the Father.
5 ᎿᎭᏉᏃ ᎬᏔᏲᏎᎭ ᎯᎨᏴ, ᏗᎦᎵᎨᏳᎯ ᎢᏳᎵᏍᏙᏗᏱ; ᎥᏝ ᎠᏗᎾ ᎢᏤ ᏗᎧᎿᎭᏩᏛᏍᏗ ᏥᎬᏲᏪᎳᏁᎰ ᎢᏳᏍᏗ ᏱᎩ, ᎾᏍᎩᏉᏍᎩᏂ ᏥᏁᎩᎰᎢ, ᏗᎦᏓᎨᏳᎯ ᎢᏳᎵᏍᏙᏗᏱ.
And now I beseech thee, lady, not as writing a new commandment to thee, but what we had from the beginning, that we would love each other.
6 ᎠᎴ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏍᏗ ᎠᏓᎨᏳᏗ ᎨᏒᎢ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᎨᏓᏍᏗᏱ ᎾᏍᎩᏯ ᏗᎧᎿᎭᏩᏛᏍᏗ ᎤᏤᎵᎦ ᏂᎦᏪᏍᎬᎢ. ᎾᏍᎩ ᎯᎠ ᏗᎧᎿᎭᏩᏛᏍᏗ ᏗᏓᎴᏂᏍᎬ ᏅᏓᎬᏩᏓᎴᏅᏛ ᏥᏁᏣᏛᎩᏍᎪᎢ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᏗᏥᎧᎿᎭᏩᏛᏍᏗᏱ.
And this is love, that we should walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, just as ye heard from the beginning, that ye should walk in it.
7 ᎤᏂᏣᏔᏰᏃ ᎤᏠᎾᏍᏗ ᎠᏁᏙᎭ ᎡᎶᎯ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎠᏃᎯᏳᎲᏍᎩ ᏂᎨᏒᎾ ᏥᏌ ᎦᎶᏁᏛ ᎤᏇᏓᎵ ᎤᎾᏄᎪᏥᎸᎢ; ᎾᏍᎩ ᎯᎠ ᎤᏠᎾᏍᏗ ᎠᎴ ᎦᎶᏁᏛᎠᏡᏗᏍᎩ.
Because many deceivers have gone forth into the world, those not acknowledging Jesus Christ coming in flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.
8 ᎢᏤᏯᏔᎮᏍᏗ ᏞᏍᏗ ᏱᎩᏲᎱᏎᎴᏍᏗ ᏕᎩᎸᏫᏍᏓᏁᎸᎢ, ᎢᏗᏩᏛᎲᏉᏍᎩᏂ ᎤᎧᎵᏨᎯ ᎡᎦᎫᏴᏓᏁᏗ.
Watch yourselves, so that we may not lose what we have wrought, but may receive a full reward.
9 ᎩᎶ ᏣᏍᎦᏅᎪᎢ ᎠᎴ ᏂᏓᎧᎿᎭᏩᏕᎬᎾ ᏥᎨᏐ ᎦᎶᏁᏛ ᏧᏕᏲᏅᎯ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎥᏝ ᎤᏁᎳᏅᎢ ᏳᏪᎰᎢ. ᎾᏑᎵᎪᎬᎾᏍᎩᏂ Ꮎ ᏓᎧᎾᏩᏗᏒ ᏗᎧᎿᎭᏩᏕᎩ ᎦᎶᏁᏛ ᏧᏕᏲᏅᎯ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᏚᏪᎭ ᎢᏧᎳ ᎠᎦᏴᎵᎨ ᎠᎴ ᎤᏪᏥ.
Every man transgressing, and not abiding in the doctrine of the Christ, does not have God. The man abiding in the doctrine of the Christ, this man has both the Father and the Son.
10 ᎢᏳᏃ ᎩᎶ ᏱᏥᎷᏤᎸ ᎠᎴ ᏄᏲᎸᎾ ᏱᎩ ᎯᎠ ᎾᏍᎩ ᏗᏕᏲᏗ ᎨᏒᎢ, ᏞᏍᏗ ᏕᏥᏁᎸ ᏱᏕᏣᎵᏂᎸᏤᏍᏗ, ᎠᎴ ᏞᏍᏗ ᏰᏥᏲᎵᎴᏍᏗ;
If any man comes to you, and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into a house, and do not speak to him to rejoice.
11 ᎾᏍᎩᏰᏃ Ꮎ ᎠᏲᎵᎯ ᎤᏪᎳᏗᏍᏗᎭ ᎤᏲ ᏚᎸᏫᏍᏓᏁᎲᎢ.
For he who speaks to him to rejoice, partakes of his evil works.
12 ᎤᏣᏛᎩ ᎢᏳᏓᎴᎩ ᎢᏨᏲᏪᎳᏁᏗ ᎠᎩᎲᎩ, ᎠᏎᏃ ᎥᏝ ᎪᏪᎵᏉ ᎠᎴ ᏗᎪᏪᎶᏗ ᏗᎬᏙᏗ ᏯᎩᏰᎸᏎᎢ, ᎤᏚᎩᏰᏃ ᎠᏋᎭ ᎢᏨᏩᏛᎲᏍᏗᏱ, ᎠᎴ ᏗᏗᎰᎵ ᏗᎬᏙᏗᏱ ᎢᎦᎵᏃᎮᏗᏱ, ᎠᎴ ᎢᏓᎵᎮᎵᎬ ᎤᎧᎵᎢᏍᏗᏱ.
Having many things, I did not want to write to you by paper and ink, but I hope to come to you, and to speak mouth to mouth, so that our joy may be filled.
13 ᎠᎦᏑᏴᏛ ᎡᏣᎸᎢ ᏧᏪᏥ ᏫᎨᏣᏲᎵᎭ. ᎡᎺᏅ.
