Deuteronomio 17

1 Kinahanglan dili kamo maghalad ngadto kang Yahweh ug torong baka o karnero nga adunay ikasaway o bisan unsa nga daot, tungod kay gikasilagan kana sa atubangan ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios.

Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the LORD thy God an ox, or a sheep, wherein is a blemish, even any evil thing; for that is an abomination unto the LORD thy God.

2 Kung adunay makaplagan diha kaninyo, sulod sa ganghaan sa siyudad nga ihatag ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios kaninyo, bisan si kinsang lalaki o babaye nga nagabuhat ug daotan sa panan-aw ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios ug milapas sa iyang kasabotan—

If there be found in the midst of thee, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that doeth that which is evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing His covenant,

3 si bisan kinsa nga milakaw ug misimba sa laing mga dios ug miyukbo ngadto kanila, kung sa adlaw, bulan o bisan unsa man nga anaa sa kalangitan—nga wala nako gimando,

and hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, or the sun, or the moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have commanded not;

4 ug kung nasuginlan kamo niini, o nakadungog kamo mahitungod niini—kinahanglan maghimo kamo ug mainampingong pagtuki. Kung kini tinuod ug sigurado nga adunay gabuhat niining gikasilagang butang sa Israel—

and it be told thee, and thou hear it, then shalt thou inquire diligently, and, behold, if it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel;

5 —busa kinahanglang dad-on ninyo kining lakiha o bayhana, nga nagbuhat niining daotang butang, sa sulod sa ganghaan sa inyong siyudad, kana gayong lakiha o bayhana, kinahanglang batohon ninyo siya hangtod mamatay.

then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, who have done this evil thing, unto thy gates, even the man or the woman; and thou shalt stone them with stones, that they die.

6 Pinaagi sa baba sa duha o tulo ka mga saksi, siya nga kinahanglang mamatay pagapatyon; apan kung pinaagi lamang sa baba sa usa ka saksi dili siya mahimong patyon.

At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is to die be put to death; at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.

7 Ang kamot sa mga saksi ang unang mopatay kaniya unya ang kamot sa tanang katawhan; ug inyong walaon ang daotan gikan diha kaninyo.

The hand of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. So thou shalt put away the evil from the midst of thee.

8 Kung adunay motungha nga butang nga maglisod kamo paghukom—kung pangutana kini mahitungod sa pagpatay o wala gituyo nga kamatayon, kung mahitungod sa katungod sa usa ka tawo o katungod sa lahing tawo, o pangutana sa kadaot nga gibuhat sa usa, o lahing mga butang—kung mahitungod kini sa panaglalis diha sulod sa ganghaan sa inyong mga siyudad, kinahanglan nga moadto kamo sa dapit nga pilion ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios nga mahimong iyang balaang dapit.

If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, even matters of controversy within thy gates; then shalt thou arise, and get thee up unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose.

9 Kinahanglan nga moadto kamo sa mga pari, mga kaliwat ni Levi, ug ngadto sa maghuhukom nga mag-alagad nianang taknaa; pangayoon ninyo ang ilang tambag, ug hatagan nila kamo sa ilang hukom.

And thou shall come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days; and thou shalt inquire; and they shall declare unto thee the sentence of judgment.

10 Kinahanglan sundon ninyo ang balaod nga gihatag kaninyo, sa dapit nga pilion ni Yahweh nga mahimong iyang balaang dapit. Kinahanglan maampingon ninyong matuman ang tanang butang nga ilang gitudlo nga ipabuhat kaninyo.

And thou shalt do according to the tenor of the sentence, which they shall declare unto thee from that place which the LORD shall choose; and thou shalt observe to do according to all that they shall teach thee.

11 Sunda ang balaod nga gitudlo nila kaninyo, ug pagbuhat sumala sa hukom nga ilang ihatag kaninyo. Ayaw pagtipas sa ilang gisulti kaninyo, sa tuong kamot o ngadto sa wala.

According to the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do; thou shalt not turn aside from the sentence which they shall declare unto thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.

12 Si bisan kinsa nga mapahitas-on, sa dili pagpaminaw sa pari nga nagtindog sa pag-alagad sa atubangan ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios, o sa dili pagpaminaw sa maghuhukom—kanang tawhana mamatay; kinahanglan nga walaon ninyo ang daotan gikan sa Israel.

And the man that doeth presumptuously, in not hearkening unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the LORD thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die; and thou shalt exterminate the evil from Israel.

13 Ang tanang katawhan kinahanglan makadungog ug mahadlok, ug moundang na sa pagkamapahitas-on.

And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

14 Sa dihang moabot kamo sa yuta nga ihatag ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios kaninyo, ug kung mapanag-iyahan na ninyo kini ug magsugod na sa pagpuyo niini, ug unya moingon kamo, 'Magtuboy ako ug hari ibabaw sa akong kaugalingon, sama sa tanang mga nasod nga nagpalibot kanako,'

When thou art come unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein; and shalt say: 'I will set a king over me, like all the nations that are round about me';

15 busa kinahanglang magtuboy kamo ug hari ibabaw kaninyo nga pilion ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios. Kinahanglan nga magtuboy kamo ug hari ibabaw kaninyo nga gikan sa inyong mga kaigsoonan. Dili kamo mahimong magtuboy ug hari ibabaw kaninyo nga usa ka langyaw, nga dili ninyo igsoon.

thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose; one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee; thou mayest not put a foreigner over thee, who is not thy brother.

16 Apan kinahanglan nga dili siya magpadaghan ug mga kabayo alang sa iyang kaugalingon, o mahimong hinungdan nga mobalik sa Ehipto ang katawhan aron makapadaghan siya sa iyang kabayo, tungod kay misulti si Yahweh diha kaninyo, 'Sukad karon kinahanglang dili na kamo mobalik niana nga dalan pag-usab.'

Only he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses; forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you: 'Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.'

17 Ug kinahanglan dili siya magpadaghan sa iyang mga asawa alang sa iyang kaugalingon, aron ang iyang kasingkasing dili motalikod kang Yahweh; dili gani siya angay magpadaghan sa mga plata ug bulawan alang sa iyang kaugalingon.

Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away; neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

18 Sa dihang maglingkod na siya sa trono sa iyang gingharian, kinahanglan magsulat siya diha sa linukot nga kopya niini nga balaod alang sa iyang kaugalingon, gikan sa balaod nga anaa sa atubangan sa mga pari, nga mga Levita.

And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book, out of that which is before the priests the Levites.

19 Ang linukot kinahanglan anaa kaniya, ug kinahanglan basahon niya kini sa tanang mga adlaw sa iyang kinabuhi, aron makakat-on siya sa pagpasidungog kang Yahweh nga iyang Dios, ug aron tumanon kining tanang pulong niini nga balaod ug niini nga mga sugo aron pagbantay niini.

And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life; that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them;

20 Kinahanglang buhaton niya kini aron nga dili mabayaw ang iyang kasingkasing labaw sa iyang mga kaigsoonan, ug aron dili siya motalikod sa mga kasugoan, sa tuo o sa wala nga kamot; aron motaas pa ang mga adlaw sa iyang kinabuhi sa iyang gingharian, siya ug iyang mga anak, diha sa Israel.

that his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left; to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children, in the midst of Israel.
