Притчи 12
1 Който обича поправление, обича знание, Но който мрази изобличения е невеж.
He that loves instruction loves sense, but he that hates reproofs is a fool.
2 Добрият човек намира благоволение пред Господа; А зломилсеника Той осъди.
He that has found favour with the Lord [is made] better; but a transgressor shall be passed over in silence.
3 Човек няма да се утвърди чрез беззаконие, А коренът на праведните не ще се поклати.
A man shall not prosper by wickedness; but the roots of the righteous shall not be taken up.
4 Добродетелната жена е венец на мъжа си; А оная, който докарва срам, е като гнилота в костите му.
A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband; but as a worm in wood, so a bad woman destroys her husband.
5 Мислите на праведните са справедливи, А намеренията на нечестивите са коварство.
The thoughts of the righteous [are true] judgments; but ungodly men devise deceits.
6 Думите на нечестивите са засада за кръвопролитие; А устата на праведните ще ги избавят.
The words of ungodly men are crafty; but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
7 Нечестивите се съсипват и няма ги, А домът на праведните ще стои.
When the ungodly is overthrown, he vanishes away; but the houses of the just remain.
8 Човек бива похвален според разума си, А опакият в сърце ще бъде поругаван.
The mouth of an understanding [man] is praised by a man; but he that is dull of heart is had in derision.
9 По-щастлив е скромният, който слугува на себе си, От този, който се надига и няма хляб.
Better is a man in dishonour serving himself, than one honouring himself and wanting bread.
10 Праведният се грижи за живота на добитъка си, А благостите на нечестивите са немилостиви.
A righteous man has pity for the lives of his cattle; but the bowels of the ungodly are unmerciful.
11 Който обработва земята си ще се насити с хляб, А който следва суетни неща е без разум.
He that tills his own land shall be satisfied with bread; but they that pursue vanities are void of understanding. He that enjoys himself in banquets of wine, shall leave dishonour in his own strong holds.
12 Нечестивият търси такава корист, каквато вземат злите, А коренът на праведния дава плод.
The desires of the ungodly are evil; but the roots of the godly are firmly set.
13 В престъплението на устните се намира опасна примка, А праведният ще се отърве от затруднение.
For the sin of [his] lips a sinner falls into snare; but a righteous man escapes from them. He whose looks are gentle shall be pitied, but he that contends in the gates will afflict souls.
14 От плода на устните си човек се насища с добрини; И според делата на ръцете на човека му се въздава.
The soul of a man shall be filled with good from the fruits of his mouth; and the recompence of his lips shall be given to him.
15 Пътят на безумния е прав в неговите очи, А който е мъдър, той слуша съвети.
The ways of fools are right in their own eyes; but a wise man hearkens to counsels.
16 Безумният показва явно отегчението си, А благоразумният скрива оскърблението.
A fool declares his wrath the same day; but a prudent man hides his own disgrace.
17 Който диша истина възвестява правдата, А лъжесвидетелят - измамата.
A righteous man declares the open truth; but an unjust witness is deceitful.
18 Намират се такива, чието несмислено говорене пронизва като нож, А езикът на мъдрите докарва здраве,
Some wound as they speak, [like] swords; but the tongues of the wise heal.
19 Устните, които говорят истината, ще се утвърдят за винаги, А лъжливият език ще трае за минута.
True lips establish testimony; but a hasty witness has an unjust tongue.
20 Измама има в сърцето на ония, които планират зло; А радост имат тия, които съветват за мир.
[There is] deceit in the heart of him that imagines evil; but they that love peace shall rejoice.
21 Никаква пакост няма да се случи на праведния, А нечестивите ще се изпълнят с злощастие.
No injustice will please a just man; but the ungodly will be filled with mischief.
22 Лъжливите устни са мерзост Господу, А ония, които постъпват вярно, са приятни Нему.
Lying lips are a abomination to the Lord; but he that deals faithfully is accepted with him.
23 Благоразумният човек покрива знанието си. А сърцето на безумните наказва глупостта си.
An understanding man is a throne of wisdom; but the heart of fools shall meet with curses.
24 Ръката на трудолюбивите ще властвува, А ленивите ще бъдат подчинени.
The hand of chosen men shall easily obtain rule; but the deceitful shall be for a prey.
25 Теготата смирява човешкото сърце, А благата дума го развеселява.
A terrible word troubles the heart of a righteous man; but a good message rejoices him.
26 Праведният води ближния си, А пътят на нечестивите въвежда самите тях в заблуждение.
A just arbitrator shall be his own friend; but mischief shall pursue sinners; and the way of ungodly men shall lead them astray.
27 Ленивият не пече лова си; Но скъпоценностите на човеците са на трудолюбивия.
A deceitful man shall catch no game; but a blameless man is a precious possession.
28 В пътя на правдата има живот, И в пътеката й няма смърт.
In the ways of righteousness is life; but the ways of those that remember injuries [lead] to death.
